Thunderbolts looks great. I am still sketchy on how Sentry will be used 😅. All heroes and Villains are toned down from the comics but I feel Sentry wouldn't make sense if too nerfed💯
I'm the most skeptical about what Sentry will be like. Movies already don't have a good track record of dealing with powerful characters, and on top of that, modern disney absolutely destroys all comic characters.
If Sentry came out 10 years ago, I'd be hopeful, but now, it really makes me not want to see him in live action. Especially after what the comics did to him. He deserves better.
I don't think they'll allow Sentry to be as OP as in the comics or even close. I just hope they don't make a mockery out of him like they did with Thor in love and thunder or like they've done with Hulk in basically all movies.

@@THETRIVIALTHINGS The thing I've realized long ago is Hulk, Thor, Sentry, Ghostrider and such will never be properly handled, as when at peak performance or even just moderate to low performance should field wipe just about every hero/villain that isn't godlike. In the mcu we'll never get k.o.h ghostrider or even green scar against Sentry. They probably can't even get Hulk vs Wolverine right which is of a far lower scale.
I agree. We'll see. The rest looks great. Maybe with Sentry they'll run the route of "still unsure or figuring out his powers", which would allow him to not destroy everyone/overpower evertything, but hint at this MASSIVE potential. I just don't want them to do to him what they did with Hulk. We'll see if they've learned in that regard.

I’m concerned. Sentry is such a hard character to do justice to in a marvel movie. I loved the dark avengers run but not confident mcu can make it work
Sentry is so complex…I hope they don’t just “Superman “ him…his character is so deep and dangerous as well as positively powerful as well as negatively…I really hope they at least drop Easter eggs for that because so much seems to be going on to go into his backstory would confuse the audience

I believe that when the Dark Avengers do appear in MCU's future, the Sentry, Red Hulk, Abomination, G'iah, Hercules, Namor and Bullseye would be the perfect roster. Maybe add an enhanced W'Kabi as well.
This would happen once it's realised that even a carefully assembled team like the Thunderbolts* could fall apart or straight up disobey anyone who commands them if they are pushed enough.
So it would be a deliberate foil to the previous teams, in both roster quality and quantity. Cuz the Dark Avengers easily seem far more powerful than either of the Avengers or Thunderbolts, by outclassing them in brute force, myriad of powers, talents, special abilities, and roster size. And cuz most of em have villainous tendencies, which means lesser inhibitions to act upon their wills to achieve their goals. But they also won't be free cuz they'll be on a short leash by whoever the main antagonist is and would constantly be at each other's necks and would have to be placated by any means. And they would have a total of 7 or even more members, not just to outnumber the heroes' team but also cuz that same leader of theirs sees them as expendables and replaceable.

CapAm 4 and the Thunderbolts movie are just a setup for Wolverine. CapAm 4 introduces adamantium and the notion that the Weapons Plus program is not only still going on but its test subjects are being mind controlled to some exempt. Thunderbolts takes that idea and introduces to one of those subjects, the Sentry. By the end(post credit for Thunderbolts) we find out that the WP have been established all around the world, not by just US, but every other country and we get a brief glimpse of Weapon X and slowly introduce the Xmen into the MCU. BONUS Nathaniel Essex(MrSinister) is one the main guys running the program
Maybe they incorporate the Bucky from original sin storyline where he flips on the team after finding out the truth about Nick Fury.

I agree 100% I actually have a theory that the fantastic four, thunderbolts, etc. are not only leading up to Doom, but I think it is going to be the MCU’s way of setting up the X-Men’s introductions as well!!!!
Are we sure that's Sentry in the trailer? He said his name was Bob. I'm thinking Hydra Bob.
I thought Hydra Bob originally too, but Sentry's name is Robert and the "origin" looks somewhat correct.

I think the Sentry is gonna be explained as the government's answer to the Eternals. There's no way the Celestial emerging wasn't considered a global catastrophe and it was probably caught on cam what Icarus and the others could do and they were like alright enough is enough we're not letting aliens kill half the planet again so let's make a new hero and boom we get Sentry.

A great way to test the Sentry strength is a punching machine, its classic simple and easy to under rate a greater calculation is measuring his power elsewhere, without him touching it. It won't be done but its better than oh he is at Hulk level.

Not gonna lie, that trailer looks *AMAZING!!* Legit gave me the sane feeling i *USED* to get during The Infinity Saga!! Hope the *Movie* turns out as good as the *Trailer* was 🤩🤩
We don't know what the Super Soldier Serum is made out of, but yes, there were other types of experiments and things like the Super Soldier serum that Red Skull too, although it was imperfect, the ones created in falcon and the winter soldier, but there have also been other types of power bestow formulas and things like the experimental DNA fusion thing that made The Lizard, and also the Goblin Formula and Gamma ray tests and other things, so what if they do something like in the Ethernals, that Celestial that came out of the Earth and I believe that there was a reference to that in She Hulk like a post or something about why a statue was coming out of the ocean or something like that, but it was talking about how the skin or armor of the Celestial is made out of some type of really strong and durable metal, and maybe they will use that to introduce Adamantium like it is Cosmic and now of Earth and Super Super strong, but maybe they can also take the blood of the Celestial and experiment with that and make the Sentry Super Soldier serum which is why Sentry can reality warp and is so strong and things like that, because he has universal, Cosmic, reality level power with the Celestial blood.

If the MCU is going to introduce Sentry, I still just hope they disguise it until the end of the story. It'd be such a missed opportunity to not play around with and use the premise of him being forgotten by everyone and all of that. They really need to not just bring him in clearly and say full power or anything... He needs to be surrounded by mystery and uncertainty, and only revealed when it's earned.

It would be cool if they have the MCU Sentry being around the strength of MCU Hulk at first and slowly increase his power overtime in other projects to the point where he is somewhat equal to his comic book counterpart.

My 2 cents, is they get back to the previous Avengers movies, format. I find they have been missing the mark on various movies, TV shows etc. Make it as great as the original movies, that would be dope. Thank you for talking this movie. The way you are describing this movie, as a Suicide Squad movies. Take breaks whenever you want. I rather have the excellent segments, than, you falling a sleep, while trying to discuss the comic book, movie etc.

Wasn't the entire concept of The Thunderbolts supposed to be villains posing as heroes? Looks like that's been discarded and replaced with b-team heroes. Trying to be excited for MCU movies but its pretty difficult these days.
I believe that's the Dark Avengers where for instance Bullseye is Hawkeye on that team.
Yeah, the original team was villains posing as heroes...lead by Baron Zemo. The concept has changed up a number of times more recently though. There was a villain team lead by the Winter Soldier. Other iterations have been teams consisting of "heroes" like Venom, Punisher, Elektra, Red Hulk etc.

If they would've made the scientist who made the super soldier serum a skull that would've tied secret invasion series much better than what was done. Having the serum be alien based would've explained why it never was recreated properly
I agree you 100%. Sentry is so overpowered in the comic books. I don’t know how they’re gonna power scale him correctly in MCU because he’s just way too powerful . I would be pleasantly surprised if they adapted him more powerful than the Hulk. Like doesn’t he even have laser vision? But I’m excited to see where the Thunderbolts go, they’re one of my favorite teams of anti-heroes in all of comics!

I think since the Thunderbolts movie will tie into Captain America:Brave New World;some of the members of the Thunderbolts may end up joining the new Avengers lead by Sam Wilson.
Do we analyze political themes, or anything more surface level than “bright colours, Loud booms Sooo Cooool”? Over on this channel? Nothing wrong with nerding out over dope ish, but doin’ some thinking is also very cool!
I think by the end of the film, most of the Thunderbolts will be killed, and then we'll get the reveal that this was all a field test by Valentina to test the limits of the Sentry's powers. I could see a scenario where Valentina becomes the leader of the Dark Avengers like Norman Osborn did in the comics, and now what we're seeing here is the MCU planting the seeds for a Dark Avengers/Dark Reign-style storyline after Secret Wars where superheroes are essentially outlawed by the government unless they join the government entirely. I could even see a scenario where Wolverine could replace Daken on this hypothetical Dark Avengers team since there are a lot of rumors claiming that Hugh Jackman is sticking around in the MCU as either the main 616 Varient or as a survivor of the Multiversal War in a similar fashion to the way Old Man Logan stuck around after Secret Wars. This would sort of make sense because that would be the easiest way to have Wolverine fight the Hulk, and it would explain why he's supposedly not going to be in the X-Men film they're working on.
I think ScreenCrush's theory might be more likely with them being the Dark Avengers, but something that also supports Rob's theory is the Secret Invasion show. They already said Nick Fury collected the D.N.A. of all these heros... and Val is the head of the C.I.A. so she could have access to that data.
As usual, the MCU HAS to Nerf their comic book counterparts so they can fold into their universe. NOT doing so would make it/them so fantastical with their power levels that only (even surface level)comic books knowledge will understand and cheer for and alienate the casuals(the rest) of audiences 😂🤣

With Netflix shows declared canon, there are also the experiments done to convicts like Luke Cage and also the ones performed by IGH that enhanced Jessica Jones, various soldiers, and Trish Walker. Where do those fit into Weapons Plus? If some upcoming film enumerates the Weapon N experiments in dialog or some on-screen files then I hope these others from the Netflix shows are included as either official part of Weapons Plus or acknowledged offshoots.
Could the Void be the reason for the collapse of the MCU multi-verse? It would allow them to not have to introduce the beyonders, molecule men, and more. Doom with prep time might harness some of that power to create battleworld. 🤔 thoughts and Thanks!
Its the MCU. Everything is trash. They are bringing in the Sentry to get the book readers all riled up and he will be trash. Its a movie. Maybe 2hrs tops. Thats not enough time for the Sentry alone but this is about a whole team. They should have just started a series of the golden boy himself.
Movie looks boring. Reminds me of the trailer for the first suicide squad, and that movie was hot garbage. I couldn't care less about watching this "content".
So I watched a lot of youtube. Specifically, street walking stuff (not prostitution) but what is happening in drug culture out in urban areas. Homeless, crocs, tranquilizer and the youth generation and I watched all the marvel movies during the pandemic for fun to bond with my kids. But you bring up an interesting point that the government is wanting to rid itself of superheroes or there mutations problems in the marvel world and it occurred to me perhaps the open air on the street drug scene today with little consequence is the government stepping back to let the commoners experiment with drugs to see if anyone accidentally stumbles into mutation that could therefore be utilized for superior powers be it soldiers, humanized weapons or super powers. In otherwords, comic life imitating real life but millions of people and youth becoming drug addicts and killing them selves in the process. Are they sacrifices in a search for real power? Crazy shit
Hey Rob, I have somewhat of an issue with Bucky being there since he finally became wanted and called a hero in Sam's eyes as well honoring what Steve said about him being a better person. For some reason why is he with the ThunderBolts and does this teaming up especially when Elaina doing work as well but she also became good after the Hawkeye show when they were both able to move on (sort of). Could you tell me why two of the most reformed people are doing dirty work for the Nick Fury wannabe Valentina?

Do what you will with the Inhumans Rob because you’re right, I couldn’t care less what happens to Blackbolt or the rest of them… but the big dog stays! He’s the only one I’d spare because he’s the one good character from that loser team. The big dog stays Rob!!!
I feel like there needs to be some big villain at the end, like if your going to introduce Sentry they need someone powerful for him to fight to shower the audience how powerful he actually is. As of now John Walker and Bucky are by far the strongest members of the team and they pale in comparison to the big heavy hitters of the MCU. What if they introduce Weapon H in the final act to wipe out the Thunderbolts but Sentry will reveal what he can actually do.
One of the earliest Super Soldiers were the Black Panthers of Wakanda. I still think that the mystery ingredient is the heart-shaped herb in the super soldier serum. The rest of the serum were mostly steroids and anti-rejection cocktails so he wouldn't die on the table. Just a fun theory I always thought would make sense.
