I agree. I live about 30 minutes from the tail of the dragon on the Tennessee side. It's awesome being able to just decide to go for a drive and not have to plan a trip.
I've driven those Ga mountain roads for years. Never had so much fun until I got a Fiesta ST. Tail of the Dragon is a blast ! Now I'm retired in Mexico and have a Fit GK5 Sport with HFP package. There are some awesome roads here in the mountains. But it's way too dangerous to drive them like we would in Ga or Tenn. Spent a lot of money building my Fit and I can't really drive it , what a shame.
a small, stiff, front wheel drive car is a whole different kind of fun. especially on twisty mountain roads. people bring super cars, porsches, corvettes, and other sports cars and dont realize they are really missing out on these narrow roads lol
Well well well Caleb it was only a few days ago we (John, Joel, and Dylan) mentioned you should hit up the mountains while we were at your shop for the dyno session in the black miata. Awesome to see a video only a few days later on one of our favorite mountain passes of the area. We hope to bump into you some time up there! Also, if you'd like a route of our loop or some miatas to chase for next time we can gladly provide.
0:42 The way I like to go is up blood mountain to 180 then to hwy 60 . On weekends it is still not busy unlike the Dragon, much safer and laid back. Watch out for the law, safety first of course. Sunday mornings are good people are at church but sports car guys and motorcycles are still there. Go after caffeine and octane in Kennesaw and you might see a bunch of big dollar sports cars.
Dude! You were literally 10 minutes from me! Blood Mountain is a blast and the store at the top is great. Hope to catch you up here sometime and do some cruising!
I just got one of these pretty much for free. 5 speed and same color, always liked the looks of them and feel like they should’ve been the EP3. Super fun car to drive
My work takes me to Greenville SC. I've been drive the roads to the north and west of there for fun on the weekends when I have to stay over. I haven't made it over as far as 60. Will have to check it out. The whole area has some fun roads, 23 comes to mind. I'm always in boring rental car, but it's still good to get out in the hills.
Favorite road of all time. Wolf Pen Gap is goated around there. Me and a couple other buddies in Athens are going up there the 8th if you want to go again!
Those are cute little Georgia HILLS.... Also, consider doing the least expensive best bang for the buck BBK. The Mini Cooper 280mm rotors & 99-00 Integra Type-R/CRV calipers. I did that on my GD along with stainless brake lines front & rear with some higher temp DOT4 & it's SUCH a massive improvement you won't believe it & they will clear your current wheels, won't clear the stock Fit 15"s but your offset of the Konig's would be totally fine. My kit consisted of PowerStop rebuild calipers (powder coated red for extra credit). TechnaFit brake line kit, Wagner metallic brake pads for a 1st gen TSX, Brembo drilled rotors & Mercedes Benz DOT4. I searched for quality parts that I could find on sale & all in it was $310.
i know it's a drive but Suck Creek mountain in Tennessee is a ton of fun to drive up and down. Notable stop is Prentice Cooper forest preserve! I drive my type n up there all the time!
Bro lmao when you built your blue Miata I installed the fm turbo kit on mine 😂 now you boosted your fit and I’m about to boost mine 😂 this just got me 10x more pumped currently just waiting on parts haha
sweet honda fit bro! if you are thinking about painting then I definitely recommend going for white paint and add the red honda type r logos to it! wheels can be any color.
I traded my 2016 EX-L in a year ago for a Kona N and I can't help but think I'm missing out by not owning a fit, as slow as they are I love how practical they look and how fun they are to drive. I feel like I can't really give it the beans as often in the Kona N because it's a little too fast for city streets, 🤔
Yooo have you ever considered learning how to create parts with carbon fiber? Might be a real challenge for ya and you could upload your learning process along the way!
It would be a cool video to see a full run up the mountain! Edit after watching the video, please get some trays for the Fit for the next video, hahah!
I dont remember the kids name (I think he's related to audrey, I know he's been on the channel for years now, im sorry), but when he gets his license I feel like we need a series involving him and his first car.
Americans really are allergic to turbo flutter, the turbo will be fine without a blow off valve, what is funny is even his Volvo has turbo flutter despite the blow off valves he installed.
your turbo does live longer with a blowoff valve. why do you think all turbo cars nowadays have them? its a daily so its main purpose is to stay alive 😂
@@florider_hd The main purpose of a bypass/recirculation valve to reduce emissions, aftermarket blow off valves exist because people like the sound. Nissan's pre 1988 didn't run any (some after 88 still had none like early S13's), turbo's literally out last the engines in those, even some modern cars don't run any, if it does any damage it's so minimal you wouldn't notice.
Mazda 2 with 1.5 103hp (ZY-VE) is good alternative to Honda Fit. Mazda looks sportier and have better handling and suspension from factory. I can see only advantage for Fit, that it can be offered with more powerful VTEC engine.
Open your hatch. Get in your car. Start the car. Turn the A/C on high and shut all the windows and doors. The combination of acoustics from the exhaust and motor mounts is almost painful. It feels like driving with just your back windows open.
Been looking into buying a fit, I want to ask you though, if you had to work on/mod a fit without a lift/quick jacks how bad would it be realistically?
Any Fit owners in the comments here, how is highway driving with the 5-speed? My Volvo V70 currently screams at highway speeds and I don't feel comfortable going over 75/80... was wondering if the fit is any better. Thanks yall
Unpopular opinion.... Turbo flutter for the win. Stutututu is better than wooooooooossshhh. No need for a BOV in my opinion. It's not a race car and the boost pressure isn't that high
It's common place in motorsport not to run a BOV, you can pretty much look at any top level racing car and see they don't run any, GT3, GTP, WRC, etc, as for boost pressure not being that high, pretty common here to see street cars running 30+ psi with no valve not to mention race cars running a lot more than that.
Sooooo, paint job & built motor? Or new daily? Also don't forget to check out the Insta360 X3: store.insta360.com/product/x3?INROLJQ&KOL&X3car
Sell it get 4 door Si 8th gen and put a kraftwerks supercharger easy 400whp
Next thing I'd like to see? Get as many carbon fiber parts as possible and see how much weight you can shave off... and then a paint job lol.
If you're looking for color suggestions, cypress green pearl is my favorite Honda color.
I vote you pretty it up a little more (and defenitly make it faster)
I'm really curious to see how this compares to a fiesta ST
To be that close to the mountains is truly a blessing. Getting to just casually drive those cool roads is an awesome thing
Yeah 100%! Love living within an hour of these places

Okay, welding shots from inside the pipe are fire.
I went on that first road back in march on a motorcycle. There was a guy absolutely ripping a Miata and it reminded me of you haha.

I had to double vacuum T to mine since I wasn't running a ton of boost, made less flutter and it opened better.
