- It’s 2023. Another year on UA-cam, another year diving further and deeper into this coffee rabbit hole, and another year grateful for the community and platform I’ve built here over the last couple years - even if it's still small.
This year, my goal is to be more intentional. About the videos I produce, the coffee I brew, and the gear I hoard. I mean, collect.

Awesome set up, very jealous of that orbit/bianca combo! Would love to see the bianca get a head to head comparison with something like the decent. Two very different machines that I’ve seen many (myself included) consider when looking for an endgame upgrade

Looks great Xris! Best of luck with the channel in 2023! You still using the Madkat or the Goat Story motorizers at all? How are they holding up long term?
Thanks! I still have the Madkat one but don't use it often since I generally do the use the Comandante as often. I sold the Arco a while back because I simply had too much stuff lol
Awesome set up! Any recommendations for a grinder that I can upgrade to? currently use a baratza encore and mainly use v60s as my method of brewing.

Awesome setup, Xris! Where can I get the puck screen holder, and WDT holder (that holds the rice)? Also, what filter papers do you use for the Orea V3? I have the negotiator, but don't know a good place to get flat filter papers, so I have just been using Kalitas.
Thank you! The holder is no longer being sold from the same seller I'm sure Etsy has options. I use the Sibarist fast papers for Orea but also alternate between regular Orea filters and Kalita filters.
Clean setup as usual. You had me worried you got rid of the Pro 800 so soon! Do you have a link to the 3D printed WDT tool stand? Good idea with the rice.
The stand came from Etsy though I don't think the original seller is active anymore!

I just bought a DF83 and a Lelit Bianca V3 as well, and you have the same prep style as I do (paper filter on bottom, puck screen on top). I am still trying to get tasty results using some of the LCC settings like low flow mode or pre-infusion, I was wondering if you use those and what you set them to if you do medium or dark roasts? Thanks
I do a 5-sec ish low flow then just let it rip after. On darker roasts I'd drop your temp a few degrees (maybe 92C or so to start)
If you have the auto dosing thing, why do you need to fill those tubes ahead of time...? I'm sure the time it takes opening the tube, dispensing it, and refilling it is longer than just using the machine.
Great setup, Xris! Very impressive. Can you provide some more information about the reverse osmosis system and why you consider it better than buying distilled water? Is this purely workflow, water quality, or both? Also, I’d love to know more about the bean counter. Which model is this and where is this sold? Thank you!

@Xris Does the system basically create a gallon of distilled and you throw in a TWW packet? If so this is a solution I need in life.

How would you say the step from niche to the orbit was for espresso? Would you say there are better all around or espresso grinders? Would like grinder for both espresso and pour over but not afraid to have two separate. Thanks
A solid change for sure, I enjoy the shots more but IMO DF83 still the best for me for both filter and espresso
How often have you had to change the filters in the RKIN water filter and what TDS are you getting from your sink before filtering? I currently use a countertop water distiller that filters 1gal in 5 hours which makes it a PITA. I do like the idea of having a machine that brings the TDS down to ZERO in a few minutes, but what worries me is if the filters will last less than 1 year.

Hi, planning to pair my Bianca with DF83. Why did u choose the orbit over the DF83 for your espresso setup
It was there for testing purposes but I mostly reverted back to the DF83

puck screen is custom 3D printed, i may start reselling them in the future on my etsy store!
