      Really no comparison. I am a huge fan of the AK platform, and for reliability you can beat them, but this thing is a tack driver. We have not even tested it with an optic or scope yet. Stay tuned for that test.

    BIGDADDY isn't your new rifle similar to the GERMAN STG44? Another learning experience from MR. BIGDADDY!!!! THANK YOU!!!! SWEET CHERRY PIE!!!!
    g

    • @bigdaddyhoffman1911
      @bigdaddyhoffman1911  9 років тому +3

      Indeed. The STG 44 is the precursor to the G3, the basis for the rifles in this video.

    • @chrisloUSA
      @chrisloUSA 9 років тому +1

      BigDaddyHoffman1911 Not to be a stickler, but you're thinking of the STG 45. The STG 44 was piston operated, the STG 45 was delayed blowback and designed to replace the STG 44 since it was almost half the price to produce. The STG 45 was one of the first rifles to used the delayed blowback method, which the Germans stumbled upon in experiments with the MG42.

    • @bigdaddyhoffman1911
      @bigdaddyhoffman1911  9 років тому +1

      chrisloUSA Very true. I should have said a precursor to the G3. Thanks buddy. I would love to shoot either of them!

    • @chrisloUSA
      @chrisloUSA 9 років тому

      BigDaddyHoffman1911 It's all good, keep up the good work friend. If you think about it though, the PTR-32 is the spiritual successor to the STG-45. They both use the same method of operation and both fire intermediate rounds with similar dimensions, recoil and ballistics. The PTR-32 in my mind is superior since it's produced with far more advanced technologies and materials, making the PTR-32 both cheaper while offering better build quality and durability. Plus the 7.62x39 round it fires along with the magazines it uses are everywhere and cheap. Good luck finding 7.92x33 Kurtz, along with the magazines it uses, the STG-45 is rare too so prepare to pay $10's of thousands of dollars for one. Not to mention, the PTR-32 is optics ready out the box.

    I Need A Magwell Adapter For My 32 Build Bad Bad ..!

  • @chrisloUSA
    @chrisloUSA 9 років тому

    Hey Big Daddy, great video, I love the things PTR is doing and at the price they charge. They're my hero since they make a firearm that works, yet doesn't charge people thousands of dollars "for the privilege" which is so the rage with many companies today. On my list is a PTR-91 in 308, since it's one of the few box fed, semi auto 308's below the $1000 mark. Tell me something about the PTR-32, can it take steel AK magazines? I heard the first gen model had issues with steel magazines, if they solved that issue I would be all over it.
    I hope PTR continues to add new calibers to it's lineup, they need a 5.56 rifle and carbine in multiple pistol calibers, 9mm MP5 clone for less than $1000 anyone?

    • @bigdaddyhoffman1911
      @bigdaddyhoffman1911  9 років тому +1

      The PTR 91 is a great way to break into the Battle Rifle market. I can find surplus G3 mags for it at gun shows for $5 all day long.
      The Gen 2 PTR 32 fixes most of the magazine issues that the first gen had. It handled every mag we tossed its way, but PTR still recommends polymer for 100% reliability. I am a big fan of the new Magpul AK mag. Check out the Atlantic Firearms link for a complete list mags they ran through it. It is impressive.
      PTR is a relatively young company, I think this is just the beginning for them.

    • @chrisloUSA
      @chrisloUSA 9 років тому

      BigDaddyHoffman1911 I have a dozen, surplus steel mags for my AK, so it would be nice to use the same magazines between both rifles. In fact, I was thinking of getting some Yugo AK mags so I can get the last round bolt hold open feature, something tells me they may not work with the PTR but I would be happy just knowing it will be reliable with standard, steel, surplus magazines.
      I heard a lot of speculation on PTR's in new calibers over the years, one issue that has me concerned is a rumor that PTR cannot make these rifles/carbines in calibers like 5.56mm and 9mm, something about H&K being afraid of PTR releasing an equally good product at a fraction of the cost. They need a license from H&K to make them and they cannot get it.

    • @bigdaddyhoffman1911
      @bigdaddyhoffman1911  9 років тому +2

      chrisloUSA We tested it with a few surplus mags and it ran fine with what we had. Bolt hold open mags will not work. I think you will continue to see cool and innovative things from PTR in the future.

    • @chrisloUSA
      @chrisloUSA 9 років тому +2

      BigDaddyHoffman1911 I have seen from Shot Show 2015 that they used steel magazines and even standard AK drums, I was impressed but I wanted to see what the end users had to say about it's performance "in the field".
      Trust me, I am very eager to see future products from this company. That they build wonderful rifles, to such high quality and at bargain basement prices has me impressed beyond words. Especially, when the prices of firearms is trending down and you have people pushing rifles that cost $2000 while offering no major improvements.

    • @lawdog1569
      @lawdog1569 9 років тому +1

      chrisloUSA the best thing is that they range anywhere from 400 to 1100 dollars on new, or used sites. These are excellent above average fire arms that look and are priced like imports, but aren't. I myself am trying to buy a prt 32.

      rambokicksass77 it does, but to have an accurate at 600 yards rifle for pennies a shot, it's not one to beat. Of all the attempts to make a 7.62x39 rifle accurate, this one seems to be the best. Even the Mutant ar15s have issues and don't come close. Just make sure you only spend 400 to 900 if you are going to buy one.

      I just got one of these. You can actually find them in stores! A couple places I would recommend you check would be Sacramento Black Rifle and Wilde Built Tactical, though each is for which section of Cali you live in. Also, highly recommend you try it out, because the thing shoots as flat as your desk. Hell, with the comp I put on mine, I can literally watch my point of aim rise about a quarter inch, then drop right back to where the shot was placed the previous time.
      The only thing I would recommend about this gun is that you make sure to put the trigger group back in properly. Found out the hard way that if you have it in at even a slightly wrong angle, it light strikes the ammo. XD

  • @shockback6360
    @shockback6360 9 років тому

    Takes down in similar fashion as the Sturmgewehr44. BTW AK also has a delay...you have to have a delay on any gun to ensure chamber pressure is low enough for extraction(the bullet is already out of the barrel before extraction even starts). Hotter round coming out of this gun is more due to barrel length than a "delay". That rifle is heavier than an AK, have fun lugging that around! The AK doesn't have two small pins (that can be lost, I guess one fell on the floor) to place in the buttstock, just 4 large parts on a basic field strip: dust cover, recoil spring, bolt carrier, bolt. Nice sell job though.
