I am staying in the sol this week and had issue with eggs yesterday chief miserable and refused to make me a fresh omelette expected me to get one of the side which had been sat there god knows how long. I am of to bad bobs tomorrow for breakfast!
That's the biggest overreaction I think I've ever seen. You eat English breakfast most videos. Surely an egg in the beans wasn't that bad. Ya like eggs and ya like beans so I can't see the problem
There is clearly a language or cultural barrier there. You could've explained what you wanted, the chef did what you asked to be fair.
To be fair, the egg was flipped - just flipped onto the beans 😂

From reading the title of this video, I asked my husband what on earth could the chef have done for Lee to put such a dramatic description of events and my husband guessed the same as you .dropped on the floor, When I found out what the real drama was about , we laughed.
Your behaviour here with the egg and beans is a bit bizarre. Causing a mountain out of a molehill, kinda like a baby playing with their food. - It’s a mass produced hotel breakfast.

Since you asked what I would have done... I would have scraped the egg and beans into my empty cereal bowl and gotten more beans and an egg... on a seperate plate if needed. You asked him to flip your egg and he did exactly that! 🤣
To be fair you should have held out your plate the other way - you just invited him to stick it on your beans! 😂

Looked like a pretty standard breakfast plenty edible, nice looking eggs and bacon. Never had a bad Coffee, always nice. Strange putting cheesy puff balls in your cereal though lol 👍
Sorry Lee...but I do not agree with you here. The chef is obviously not English (neither am I) and you can't expect him to know how Englishmen prefer their eggs, and where on the plate to put it if you don't tell him. They are of course not experts on English food. You also can't expect him to know what "flip" is if he don't know English too good (which is normal, cause you are in Spain). I also think that you can't expect to get your breakfast exactly right outside Britain. They do their best. I love my Norwegian food, but really? I know they can't do that the proper way abroad, and I'll just eat what they have there. I am not at home, and I know that. I have also stayed at Sol Tenerife, and I must say the food in general looks amazing (I don't care too much for English Breakfast), and with a good variety. I like it there. You are way to hard on them. But I'm happy to see you back, cause Tenerife is my happy place! Love every Tenerife vlog 🌞🌴

You made a rookie mistake Lee. You should have turned the plate around so that the part of the plate where you wanted the egg, would be facing him
Good video Lee but in my opinion, the chef didnt know where you wanted the egg, hes not a mind reader, plus you held your plate out with the space you created for your egg furthest away from him, hes not to know you placed your sausages into the 'dam' position so your food wouldn't touch. Shouldnt of let it ruin the rest if your meal though the rest looked ok

To be fair, Lee, this is a standard hotel breakfast buffet in Spain. They are trying to cater to every requirement for multinational guests. You are used to proper breakfasts, made with care and passion.
What amuses me, having stayed in many such places, is the effect of the full English breakfast, which has on other nationalities. At the beginning of the week, they are having a continental breakfast, looking nonplussed that the British were eating such a huge meal for breakfast.
By the middle of the week, more are trying it. By the end of the week, you can't get to the counter for Germans!
I think All inclusive hotel food has had its day. Certainly in Mediterranean resorts. 15 or more years ago it was excellent but with wastage, recessions, cost of living crisis etc hotels are economising and using cheaper, lower quality foods and ingredients now.

I recently got fed up with trying to build a decent full english in one of these buffet restaurants. I decided to cut half a baguette and filled it to the brim with Sausages, Bacon, Eggs and Mushrooms. The looks I got as people walked past my table were priceless. The next think I noticed was others doing exactly the same 😁
It's an egg. Should have said in Spanish then maybe he would of understood.. It's no big deal.
If the bread went through too quickly it wouldn't become toast would it or am I missing something?
Think I'll go and get a yoghurt? Oh you big spoilt baby Lee! Can see very little there to complain about to be honest for a 3 star Hotel. Vast selection on offer, from fresh bake breads to fruit, cereal and all you could ever want in a breakfast buffet. Ok the chef may have ballsed up your egg but very few hotels fry eggs in a pan and flip them with oil to make them pink on top, all done on the hot plate. Also you can't have a dozen toasters out, most places use those conveyor belt type. 3 was a shocking score, I'd give that an 8 no problem
Egg and beans together is sensational!
All goes down the same way and comes out the same way whether it's mixed or not on your plate 😂. As my late mum used to say ' if your really hungry your eat it' 😂.

You asked him to flip the egg which to his understanding he did - he served it onto your plate - flipped. It was all self service so perhaps better to have served your own egg or, if the fried eggs didn't appeal to you = have scrambled. The choice of food on offer was vast when major parts of the world are starving. x

I think you are being a tad over sensitive about the egg Lee, it's not a disaster, a plane crash is a disaster! Maybe the chef didn't understand what you were asking, lets not get carried away.

I think this is a combination of your personal choices as far how the eggs are presented and a misunderstanding about how you wanted it. You asked for it to be 'flipped' so he flipped it on to your plate.
I like my eggs over easy, but flipped is something the chef may not have understood.
Personally I love my fried egg on my beans as the yolk gets some unctuous consistency.
Keep it up, I totally support your freedom of choice by the way.

Great vlog lee and normally I would not slate you but in this case I have to put some of the blame on you as yes you put the sausages as a barrier but the held out the plate with the beans nearest to him if you had turned the plate 180 degrees problem solved and it would have been ok so it wasn’t all his fault but hey stuff happens and roll on the next one

I think he complained the moment he went in there lol. I’ve never had a problem with the industrial toasters tbh always quick enough for me. If the sausages where cold then fair enough that’s a valid complaint. The way he complained about the egg been in his beans was quite divaish. If he never wanted the egg in his beans he should have said flip my egg but not in my beans. How was the chef to know.

Don't you just love those slow moving toasters on Holiday especially at the very busy times in the morning when everyone just stares at you thinking hurry up I'm next, nightmare. I would of eaten that breakfast Lee but those mushrooms looked like Rubbers you used to get at school. Loved the quick Vlog, Onwards.

I don’t understand what your issue is with rotating belt toasters- they are certainly quicker than conventional toasters, you said everyone was standing round waiting but there would be a muuuuch longer line if they followed your suggestion and used a conventional toaster because you can only do 1-2 lots at a time, with the rotating type you can toast a constant line of toast rather than waiting for the first lot to pop to start the next lot, sorry but you’re wrong on this one ❌

It did look like you offered your plate to the chef beans side first - so possibly he thought you wanted the egg there. I prefer the egg and bean juice to mix so it wouldn't bother me in any case. However the rest of it didn't look great and I don't think you even mentioned the mushrooms which looked like mummified animal droppings.

I actually laughed my head off when you went on about the egg. Not in an offensive way but it was a chuckle kind of laugh.
My wife used to have a go at me when I said that beans can't mix with the tomatoes and the tomatoes can't touch anything like hash browns because the juice makes them soggy.
I thought, by the title, that the chef might have sneezed all over the food and gave you one of what he sneezed on.

Sorry Lee, but a complete over-reaction on your end. Could've just got another plate, ordered a fresh egg on a separate plate, and simply transferred what you could eat to the new plate (granted, it's not ideal... but when life gives you bad eggs, make it work in your favour).
The attitude of the chef did seem lazy and dismissive of you, so I'd have not been best pleased either.
Life's too short to have a minor incident like that ruin the start of your day. Onwards!
All things considered, I'll give it a 6.5/10. By no means the best breakfast... but not worth battering the reputation of the hotel over.
Hoping for more positive (but honest) reviews in future uploads.

the food was lovely there in the 90s stayed there several times ,i noticed the rooms are still exactly the same though ,in need of a update . but as you said as long as its clean ,breakfast looked vile ,better sticking to the cold things ,nice view
