£20 for fast food burger and chips???? Day light robbery. No wonder it was empty. The prices of other stuff was ridiculous. They don’t deserve any customers
What is Rotherham known for? Rotherham is a town in South Yorkshire, 7 miles northeast of Sheffield. Its traditional industries were coal-mining, glass-blowing and steel-making: much of this gone, but Rotherham and Sheffield are still big steel producers. The town is also developing high-tech industry and is part of the Sheffield commuter belt.
German migrants to the USA took frikadellen (minced pork/beef and onion patties) in bread to eat on the voyage. The ships sailed from Hamburg so the snack became known to Americans as ‘what the Hamburgers ate’ which was shortened to Hamburger. Last time I was in England both Aldi and Lidl sold frikadellen and they are much tastier than American hamburgers. So a piece of fried chicken in a bun is technically not a hamburger, but a minced meat pattie (including chicken) of any sort could, at a stretch, be called a hamburger, but not if it’s covered in breadcrumbs. Technically, there are beef hamburgers, pork hamburgers, chicken hamburgers, etc, but not beefburgers, porkburgers, chickenburgers, etc. I suppose CB you could even have a ham hamburger!! Nevertheless, that’s how language develops. Had the Belgian chocolate feast you had a couple of years ago and it was excellent - including on the fries. Being in a filling station you expect overpricing (sadly), but that’s life.
I can remember another UA-camr, (you know the one I mean that carries around his own table and chair), came and tried this chocolate burger and fries. You’re right Lee it’s so WRONG yet so RIGHT. Their desserts look absolutely wicked and all that chocolate sweetness and calories wow, What a combo!
So inventive and the turkey bacon looked really rich in colour. Yes, I think I'll give it a 10 for me too and the fries a 9.5. YES, Lee, please try the spicy burger on your next visit.😊
Lovely to meet you✈️ Very friendly, chatty and glad to see your travel posts back > Pls note; kindly delete departure chat. Can only use name but no film sadly✈️ THANK YOU so much🙏🏼
Tbh I don't think the price has changed much in the last 2 years since RMT reviewed it. He got the burger, fries, milkshake and cheesecake and that was £28 back then. Same score too. Not for me though.
Hamburger history: There are many competing stories about the "first hamburger in North America", all concerning dates between 1885 and 1915. It seems likely (but not unanimous) that immigrants from Hamburg, Germany introduced the idea of chopped meat sandwiches. One fairly popular claim involves New Haven, Connecticut in the year 1895. The establishment in question, Louis' Lunch, is still there, and serves the sandwiches between slices of toast, cooked in an upright grill. I've been there, and it's very good, but woe be onto anyone who asks for ketchup.
If a chicken fillet wants to identify as a ground beef patty , in this day and age there is nothing you can say on the matter for fear of upsetting the chicken.
I went to the Ikea Restaurant and asked for Meat Balls they asked if I wanted Jam on them. I was a bit surprised but tried it anyway. It was amazing. Like you said the sweet and savoury complement each other.
The Hamburger was invented in New Haven Connecticut in the United States at a place called Louis lunch. Not only does that place still exist but the original ovens they used to cook those hamburgers are still being used to this day. There are several other places that claim they originated it but all are in the US, none of them have anything to do with Hamburg Germany except for the fact that it might be possible that some of the original customers who ate the hamburgers were German sailors visiting the US in the late 19th century and they coined the name Hamburgers. I don't think there is any dispute that they were invented in the United States. Read the Wikipedia entry about them. There's no controversy about what is and isn't a buger. The people in the UK call anything in a round bun a burger which doesn't really make sense because if you put tuna fish salad in a round bun, it's not a tuna fish burger, it's still just a tuna fish sandwich. In order for something to be a burger, it has to be made of ground meat of some kind. A real turkey burger, or chicken burger are made from ground turkey or ground chicken. If they're not ground then they are just sandwiches on a bun or a roll. This place looked great and the concept of chocolate on the burger sounded right to me. There are places here in the US that use chocolate to flavor meat. It's not that unusual. I do find it odd that whenever you have burgers in the UK, they are always cooked well done. It doesn't bother me but I think most people would prefer the burgers slightly less well done. I liked the turkey bacon vs. the bacon you usually eat. It's a much healthier choice. Speaking of health, it seems like you are forgetting the health crisis you went through recently. You were doing so well for a while. Drinking those diet sodas and Iron bru and all of those lattes, are bad choices. They are loaded with chemicals and or sugar. I recently found out I have real heart issues. I had a test called a Calcium score that tells you that the arteries in your heart are clogged and require further testing. Essentially it means that calcium is being deposited in arteries to attempt to repair damage caused by plaque accumulating in the heart. In my case it's caused by a poor diet and not enough exercise. I am attempting to reverse the damage by changing my diet and exercise routine but the calcium will never be reduced, all I can do is to stop more from accumulating. You're the right age, ask your doctor to order a calcium score. It's a CT that takes 2 minutes to test and it might save your life like it has for me.
Hi Lee Interesting vlog and different with the chocolate hamburger and fries Of course you’re having great weather now in September, our summer was a lot a lot like yours, changeable, no heat wave except this week it’s 93f in NJ today and for rest of the week lol take care
I remember seeing Danny from Rate My Takeaway reviewing this, nice to see another review of it. I need an excuse to go to Rotherham... And no, Clarkson is from Doncaster?
Now that did look deliciously different. I'm going to pour some of that liquid choccy on the next bag of chips I purchase. Bloody starving now after watching that.😛
Sorry Lee I like my burger with red onion, beef tomato and a slice of cheese on a seeded bun. No brioche bun and chocolate on chips not for me, with chocolate sorry I’ll miss this one out .👍🏴
Definitely not for me, but then I’m not a chocolate lover, intriguing though ! What was particularly interesting was the burger place was inside a Nisa grocery store, don’t think I’ve seen that before. Seemed pretty expensive
I once had Chili Chocolate Chicken, which is a Mexican dish, but unsweetened Chocolate. I must say the Pulled Beef and Garlic Aoli reminded me to much of cleaning up after my German Shepherd when he was unwell.
I’m late to this video but as a person who has been cooking beef chilli with chocolate for years I know it works. Strange bedfellows as they say. Savoury & sweet is well known. £20, steep hmm 🤔 it’s niche so I can live with that for an experience. 9/10 for me.
I would call ground chicken a burger but not a sandwich made with a chicken filet. On the other hand, a hamburger is a term supposedly from Hamburg Germany but what we eat today is not the raw shredded beef (steak tartare) which was said to be something German sailors brought back from Russia. That brings up tartare sauce that we often associate with seafood but seems to originally have been made to eat with steak tartare. But none of this really matters. If it tastes good and doesn't make you sick, who cares? One question: Given the prices, was the server wearing a mask and pointing a gun at you?
Regarding location, everywhere has its rough pockets dotted about but south Yorkshire has more honest hard-working friendly people than just about anywhere...😊 And if you are venturing into our borders why not pop into Barnsley? The town centre has had millions pumped into it and market kitchen is worth a look into 😉
Dont know why people always have to pull Rotherham down.... especially when you went to Rotherham recently to that stockyard truck! Not famous for much, maybe chuckle brothers, the screw down tap and manufacturing the new york fire hydrants.... Yoh burger is quiet but do well with delivieries due to parking and get a discount on orders.... Also a yoh burger in leeds now!
Interesting concept but I'd probably go for something else on the menu as they looked better options. Not that I'd go to Rotherham but I see they have Yoh Burger in Leeds and Manchester so could visit them at some point.
I’ve been here before travelled up from Nottingham after rate my takeaway went a few years ago. I loved it had the gold leaf burger. Bit pricey but worth it for a 1 off 10/10 Macmaster
Looked nice, but turkey bacon can't replace real bacon for me. 14.99 is very steep. You could get a genuine quality burger from beefy boys for less than that

I heard hamburgers were invented in the States after they brought some sort of ground beef steak meal from Hamburg and put it between bread and called it a Hamburger.
😋🇦🇺Wow this is something very different. Looks so freash love a salad with beef. Ham burgers i think was a idea possibly inspired by a few ideas put together and it took off its popularity in usa .perhaps it was the British whom put a beef patty in a bun 😉👍🇦🇺 If its on a hamburger roll its a burger not a sandwich lol .
I Love your UA-cam video and your UA-cam channel and you are awesome and funny and I love watching your video everyday and I can't wait for your next video and I hope to meet you sometime out and about lee ❤❤
Don't think I'll bother, try some chocolate sauce on my chips perhaps but not at that price. Talking of burger joints we now have a local one called burger in law, interesting name.
Sweet and savoury has been going on for years. Ask how many people dip chips in a milkshake. Price aside, that's a full day's worth of calories and then some in one go. The freebie one looked like a tuna salad sandwich. If you go back for the spicy sandwich, best get a jug of milk because you'll need it.
People are complaining about this been over £20 for the burger and fries but you have to this this isn’t any normal fast food burger this is qaulity and homemade. You pay for qaulity
I've never heard of Yoh Burger before so was looking forward to see what it was like, apparently it's a British brand from what bit I've read about them, which is nice. I don't think chocolate on chips or burgers does it for me at all, but I'm glad you liked it. I thought the first burger looked great, would have been better for me with a normal, plain white cob instead of that brioche crap though, and it had nothing unnecessary on it like tomato or a damn lettuce leaf, it looked great and I'd certainly try a plain burger. They spoiled themselves though and put a lettuce leaf on the second one unfortunately and as I love garlic, I think I'd like one of those, prefer the white soft cob again though. Looks liks a nice place. Chicken bacon?? Bit of contradiction there I think, pork is bacon, other meats which are cured are just, well cured aren't they, doesn't turn them into bacon.
Rotherham...grooming capital of the UK. May these poor kids get justice.
Those burgers looked amazing! And... they actually looked the same as the menu photos!
We need YOH Burger down south ASAP!
Great video, Lee 😎
£20 for fast food burger and chips???? Day light robbery. No wonder it was empty. The prices of other stuff was ridiculous. They don’t deserve any customers
£2.50 for a tin of pop😅
It's empty because it's a petrol station in the middle of the afternoon. I live 5 mins from here it's full on a Friday Saturday night
Couldn't agree more
Have you ever heard of paying for a touch of class ? A taste sensation via chocolate with fries 🍟! Plus he got a free burger 🍔 making it extra value
Haters will jump all over this cos of "the cost of living" but as a treat now and again its perfectly ok
Mr Mac, you forgot to mention that it is Halal.

Oh yes go back for the spiciest burger as I love to see you scream lol😂
Chocolate on a burger is as insane as sardines and condensed milk
Great video Sir! I’ve always wanted to visit England, you guys are so cool 😎
Chocolate on a burger is just wrong. What's next? Minced beef inside a bar of dairy milk? The world has gone mad.
my grandpa used ta say....."i cud eat an oss between 2 bread vans".....love them sayings 🤣

Clarkson born in Doncaster but early in his career worked for the local newspaper, The Rotherham Advertiser..
Yes he was a Newspaper man just like Lee.
Prefer my burger with just some sliced red onion and sliced beef tomatoe, I’m not keen on brioche buns. Think I’ll miss this one.
I took a screenshot at 10.20 and uploaded the receipt to my Amazon Shopper Panel app and it accepted it. Thanks 😂

If a chicken fillet wants to identify as a ground beef patty , in this day and age there is nothing you can say on the matter for fear of upsetting the chicken.
That's very funny, but in any event, the pronoun would be "it" in either case.
I went to the Ikea Restaurant and asked for Meat Balls they asked if I wanted Jam on them. I was a bit surprised but tried it anyway. It was amazing. Like you said the sweet and savoury complement each other.

Hi Lee
Was the food you had was frozen or fresh food?

Burgers are beef, if you ask a butcher for burger meat he wont give you meat from a chicken, simple as that.
That nutter mashtagbrady went there so i decided to try it out nothing special and over priced
Stick dark chocolate in your homemade beef chillies, Mexican chilli is my favourite with chocolate 👌
Yeah I'd try it for sure Lee it looked delicious. Yes Jeremy Clarkson is from Rotherham.
'Burger' is the American derivation for 'cob'. The English had sliced ham on them for tea. Simple.
