I have a 10W7 that I bought around 12-15 years ago. The box and sub have been sitting in my closet for the past 10 years! I just had it installed in my new car and it lasted for about a week and the foam of the sub cracked and broke open. I thought I had lost my sub for good, but decided to google the problem and sure enough, it's fairly common! And why the terminals? i was just wondering because i always drill a hole and run the wire threw that way. Howd it sound like lightning and is the sub in crooked?
Nightmare Munoz - This sub was a first for me and I was amazed. I have t-nuts, but haven't used them on subs. JL instructions called for the sheet metal screws I used. I also have seen builds that drill holes and don't use speaker terminal cups as well. It's a personal preference on most of my builds, for ease of instillation and removal. However, I do upgrade the terminal connections, to crimped eye-connectors. If the the customer requests drilled holes or bolts, I do that as well. Box sounded amazing. Customer is local and saw him a month later. Stated this single box setup, is louder than when he had two them, in a pre-fab box. He's trying to sell the other sub now, doesn't need it Thanks 👌
Nightmare Munoz - No, it's not in crooked. May be the angle of the video. The build video shows I centered the sub hole cutout. Sub is setting flush to the box, trim ring sent up of the box a bit.
RICKCREATIONS - JL recommended the use of these, for this model sub. I uses coarse wood screws on most of my subwoofers. But when it comes to these heavyweights, I go with this type screw. Much thicker and is flat on the underside of head. For a solid pull on the basket, to the baffle.

That’s what’s up 👍🏽 This was our customers first time having a JL subwoofer. We were all very impressed with the output of this sub. Duck Twacy - Not real sure. I can only speculate they were going for a completely finished look with this subwoofer line. I personally did the the look, but a bit out of my price range to own 😆
Can the sides of a subwoofer box be made out of thin sheet metal and can the windows on a subwoofer box be made out of the same glass that they make house windows out of
ATTENTION❗ There is a BIG mistake in the video! The 13W7 has TWO voice coils! You always have to connect the terminals on both sides of the woofer. Otherwise only one voicecoil will be in use. This will not only result in a loss of output, but also in a damage of the woofer. Please refer to the user manual, to understand the problem and the correct way of wirering. In this video you´ve only connected one terminal. Apart from that, thanks for sharing your work with us and enjoy with your music! 👍
Sorry you feel that way bro, but it’s wired in series for a final load of 3ohm. Instead of doing a closeup of the wiring (like I do now) both coils are wired together and being used, connecting to the terminal cup. I had to go back and double check myself, but it is. Hence the use of the voltmeter, as I checked the final impedance 🤙🏽
Jim Thompson - I thought so to, until I actually installed one. Very clever design. Hiding the mounting screws, for a couch cleaner look. Surround completely to outer edge of the basket. Looks intimidating when it’s playing 👌🏾
You my friend are an idiot yes there's other subwoofers that bass but this is sound quality audio gel is a highly recommended for those that have the budget because it is worth the money you seem like the type that would go for a Jensen 15 on a ported box JL is way above your level
@@louiemares1610 If you enjoy accurate and precise bass, they're great. They're also pretty power efficient. One major con is no replacement parts. JL doesn't supply them, instead you have to pay for servicing if anything goes wrong.
My Hops Exactly everyone thinks its all about the watts when that it definitely not the way to judge a sub, you can get muchh louder for the money than a w7 but w7s arent designed to be crazy loud just like any jl sub all sq and ive heard 2 12 w7s in person and they bump and sound so accurate and smooth!

Wow! Great work. Got yourself a new subscriber. How much you charge for a box build like in the video? I have 2 new 13.5 W7s still in the box.
Panther Black - Really appreciate that man 👏🏽 I try my best on these builds. As for pricing, I'm only setup for local builds. I'm small time, lol. If you know basically what you want, I can help you design one. That way you or someone close to you, could build it. Thanks again mane 👌
El proceso al poner el aro de acero esta mal hecho, como lo hizo puede dejar la bobina descentrada...
John Carmona Sorry don’t understand
I think its a lot of trouble only not to see the bolts (who cares about that with a sub I wonder?)
Duck Twacy - Not real sure. I can only speculate they were going for a completely finished look with this subwoofer line. I personally did the the look, but a bit out of my price range to own 😆
Can the sides of a subwoofer box be made out of thin sheet metal and can the windows on a subwoofer box be made out of the same glass that they make house windows out of
What are the dimensions?
W16”
H20”
D24”

Good Job!
No esta bn el proceso
John Carmona - Sorry don’t understand
your video freezes up my computer
As soon as this dude put the flat head to the lip of the Sub I knew he didnt know WTF he was doing.
check my UA-cam video out of my 13.5 and my 1200v2 amp I paid 400 for the whole setup
This is for car audio....!
?
La música hace aburrido el video.
Really nice sub! but what a terrible mounting basket design
Jim Thompson - I thought so to, until I actually installed one. Very clever design. Hiding the mounting screws, for a couch cleaner look. Surround completely to outer edge of the basket. Looks intimidating when it’s playing 👌🏾
bj i got the same sub i need a box
anthoney smith - Your a very lucky person. I wish I could own one of these. I'd have to sell an organ to afford one of these.
210 / Designs 😂😂😂😂😂
Them subs are junk so many others to pick from
lkjyuiop - I don’t know about bro. Subs are very nice, however I agree on the second part. Tons to choose from, at more affordable pricing.
Definitely not junk, overpriced yes
