This movie was capable to make me fall in love again. I’ve discovered it only a couple of days ago and now I can’t see things the same way as before… also one thing I particularly like about this couple’s dynamic is that we never hear them say “I love you”, but you can FEEL the love
I saw this movie with my fiancé and when we saw this scene he said the way she makes faces and smiles when she is seeing him play is exactly the way you look at me when I play all my instruments. My fiancé is definitely my boyfriend.
I once dated a musician and at some point i realized that i did the same thing whenever he would play, even being a musician myself. Like its a weird sort of ecstatic joy to watch and it would make me so happy. Its crazy
hi to shed some light, i see a lot of people hate on dinner in america bc of the slurs and behavior in the movie. they drop the hard r on purpose to add depth to her struggles of being made fun of and the normalcy of that behavior where they come from. we are all products of our environment and at the end of the day human, we are supposed to be layered. he’s supposed to be a guy that has rough edges and ISNT perfect. she is supposed to be undoubtedly and openly complex in an oddly breathtaking and off putting way. he obviously says it, but within his dynamic with jane he grows empathy and shreds of understanding for it and is shown to be in the learning curve. when he says “don’t say that ur not that”he doesn’t mean it in he believes she would be subhuman, but he also lacks understanding of it and his understanding of it was that it was used in a derogatory way and upset her. he didn’t want her to be disrespected, upset, or see herself in a negative light.he wanted her to see her as her, as what’s inside of her, not a slur thrown around in some bunk town of weirdos. he in his own way was trying to express no amount of that bs will make her subhuman. it’s supposed to be a bit unsettling, it’s an example of imperfections not defining you as a person. they are understanding and accepting of each other and their journey. writers aren’t made to make the characters perfect, they’re made to make they REAL to make them draw you in. what draws people in? complexity. having to dig for the full picture. this is not saying i condone the language, but pay attention to intention and personal interpretations.
being triggered by slurs and having ur boundaries for comfort around it is normal, but i see a lot of people saying liking this movie is micro aggressive towards people of color and those with disabilities bc of the slurs. i disagree with this, unless ur like watching the problematic behavior and laughing finding enjoyment in it then i understand there being a problem. but liking the movie and accepting characters that aren’t cookie cutter perfect doesn’t make u an oppressor! but that’s just my opinion 🤷🏻♀️
I hate it that great movies like this get buried by big spectacle cash grab schlock. People say there isn't good, original movies anymore, but that's because they only watch blockbusters.
There has never been a greater quantity of quality, intelligent indie films being made than there is now. If you spend your Friday nights at a Cineplex, you won't see them.
Just watched this movie on Hulu. Such a feel good movie with lots of dark humor and witty 😅 love love Kyle gallner and the actress playing patty is adorable. She’s so good at playing an awkward teenager
My dad showed me this film, at first it started off pretty weird, but honestly...when we got to the end of the first act, this got good, and then...this scene became real good. Note: My dad thinks Kyle Gallner would be a great Live-Action Denji for a Live-Action Chainsaw Man movie.
I dedicated this song to a guy I loved. I thought we were back on the road to being better. Then he told me, he didn't want to be with me. I need someone to love me for me.
The look on Simons face is him realizes he's not alone. That Patty gets him.
Also he’s not defined to a specific genre of music. He hates any music that isn’t pure, but he just found something out of his that is.
abso - fucking - lutely . loved it .
And thus Jane Q was born.
The way he looks at her ☹ I love this movie so much
right im so alone but in a good way i love this movie
Right… like that’s acting??? Wow unreal
It's tits!😊
This song captures the feeling of being in love so well
One of those perfect little moments that make a great movie.
Best scene of a guy falling in love ever made
Deadass…perfection🤘
Ya le gustaba desde que fueron a jugar el juego del martillo
She fell in love too, and proved herself
This is the most underrated film in the last five years

Best movie I've seen in a while. Can't believe I never heard of it until yesterday. I saw a tiktok edit and watched the movie immediately after 😂
Right!!! it’s so nostalgic including this song gives me 2014 indie
Definitely can’t go wrong with Kyle Gallner either 🥵.

This scene was adorable AF. Such a little gem of a movie!

It is nice to have a cult movie again that everybody doesn't try to tear apart.
