- Columbia University has asked the NYPD to "retain a presence on campus through at least May 17" amid ongoing protests on campus. The request came in the letter the university sent to the NYPD on Tuesday night, allowing them to move onto campus grounds.

If I go to any place and do such a thing, I will get arrested. Don't make demands at other people cost, don't disturb other students who come to study rather than fight foreign wars.

Students demand divestment from companies supporting Gaza conflict , greater transparency in university finances, and amnesty for students and faculty disciplined over the protests. We also don’t judge them without knowing the whole story. In fact, the most is disturbing part is NYPD being invited on campus. We were not annoyed by the protesters. I was studying at Butler for the whole week. Most of the protester were clam and do their own thing on the lawn.
Free to speak unless you barricade yourselves in a building and to get in there you destroy property and cause violence. Last I checked that's always been illegal 🤷♀️

How entitled and arrogant these kids are. Also, it's quite hypocritical as these kids are barricading and disrupting the university work, for this specific conflict, while giving 0 f**cks about other conflicts in the world. I'm sure that majority of them have no knowledge about conflicts in Sudan, Ethiopia or DRC while millions are getting killed. Also don't remember them fighting this much for Ukraine either.
If you want to protest, go and protest but don't disrupt students who actually come to uni to study rather than play politics. I'm glad they got arrested as they hopefully got a lesson that for your actions you always get consequences.
