My lovebird is my best friend and getting him is hands down the best decision I've ever made. Just a fair warning. It's not for everyone though, birds require a lot of attention, patience and training + care about how you set up your house. It's a long term commitment that requires careful consideration but I'm loving every minute of it.
@@senadpasic7871 my neighbours don't complain, but some shitty neighbours could. He can be relatively loud, but to me and my neighbours (yours could be different) its all good and fun. The sounds are quite comfortable to me and the neighbours, it's not piercing screaming for 99% of it. He mostly gets relatively loud when hes excited and playing, or whenever he decided he should try practice the sounds he does / words he's trying to learn. I love his sounds, but I'm blinded by how much I love the little boy. You could hate it, I just smile more cos I hear him being excited while playing etc. You really should visit somewhere where they have lovebirds, see how you like the noise and if you think it will bring issues.
@@senadpasic7871 for working from home its fine btw, his sounds often get filtered. He comes and "talks" to my colleagues during meetings too, whenever he has a loud excited noise teams filters it. Colleagues adore him
I own both. I love both equally in different ways. I have panic disorder and whenever i get an attack both birds will stop whatever theyre doing and just check on me and calm me down by preening me. Even my fiesty lovebird will fly over immediately and start preening me or just sit by me in complete silence because she knows. Either one are good pets and even better family members
I have had 3 cockatiels, 2 lovebirds, and 2 budgies. I have never been bitten by any of my birds. I was able to easily tame all my birds with time and patience. I used permission based training and would watch their body language and never force them. The video I feel is accurate description of cockatiels vs lovebirds. I would like to emphasize what I feel can be the most important factor. That is your birds individual personality and the bond you develop with your bird. I think this is more important than the species.
Tiels are the ultimate snugglers, especially when they get older. But, they are messy, lots of floof. If you want a quiet (for a bird) snug buddy, definitely a tiel is what you want.
I would say….Be clear in What you want…..your state of Mind is the key….it all depends on you Commitment…..Teils are a Long living bird approximately till 20 years or maximum to 30. Teils are cuddly and will look for you everytime if you leave the room. I own a Single cockatiel it is still young but I feel its a Female….she has stripes on her tail and under her wings….she was a Wild cockatiel but is Now fully tamed….having her is the most blessed thing ever happened to me….she loves to cuddle (and poops all over the house 😂😜😁) and interacts with us all the time. Vocalisation is a Birds exercise and a daily habit….so if you don’t like sound you should probably get a Goldfish or some quiet animal….bird will speak even if you don’t want them to. Coming back teils love to be with you…if you want someone to follow you then a teil is the best. But yes the DUST oh Gawddddd!!!! Anything and everything near your teil will turn White at some point. This is because they emit a white dust when they Preen. Thus DAILY BATH or Atleast alternative bath is a MUST for you as well as your cockatiel’s health. And yesss SIZE is also a factor Teils are a Medium size bird who love to be the Center of attraction 😂❤ Coming to Love Birds (note I don’t own one but My friend does) LBs are Cute energy packet ALWAYS hopping here and there ohhh yesss they will keep on juggling form one place to another…..they will be on your shoulders once then on your head then hanging from your glasses 🤓 and the list goes on….I compare them with Little kids ij the house. For Heaven’s sake get a TAMED love Bird which will be Costly. You don’t want to meddle with a Untamed bird with a long beak….their bite will be painful and yes till this date my Friend’s Live bird never followed him or snuggles much (may be he has not given proper training) but yes this is how I feel them. Love birds may lose trust easily and may start ti fear you if you make a wrong move!!! So be cautious If you want a partner where ever you go Try for a teil…if you want little cuties get a Lover bird and yess they are always bought in Pairs!!! Love birds need a pair to survive. I own a Female Cockatiel and I am in Absolute love with her!!!! Look inside you….be true to yourself and remember birds are a Long time commitment!!!! Be true to yourself then only you will be able to appreciate your bird. Any questions will be appreciated….hope you make the Right choice and enjoy with your Furry friend. Loads of Love ❤❤❤❤❤
This was really insightful, im planning on getting another bird in a few years when my partner and I have a child. We already have 3 and I felt like if my son or daughter had a pet at about age 4-5 it would teach them responsibility and a love of animals that I have.
I have two lovebirds at the moment but considering getting a cockatiel as well to add to the flock but not sure yet. My lovebirds are still babies and one is more fearful than the other, can’t approach him / her yet. The youngest is fearful too but braver and will step up if asked ( not always ) and that’s okay, it’s allowed to say no. I’m also considering a green cheek conure but never get more birds than one can handle so I’ll stick with my two babies for now. 😊
Cockatiels are the best decision pet I ever made. He has learned several words, and different melodies, such as if you are happy and you know it. He also enjoys playing pick-a-boo. We’ve had him for three Years now, and he bring so much happiness to the home. Mine is able to fly freely and he can go almost anywhere he chooses to. He is only inside the cage at night time. He was only three Months old when we got him. He wasn’t tamed. But in less then a Month, he was letting us pet him and he was fully tamed too. He goes with everyone is the house. However one of my teens is his favorite. We all love him to death. He is very sweet and kind. They aren’t that dusty, plus they love showers. If a Cocktail had the name of Love Bird instead, it would fit him 100% because they are very, very loving. 💋💋💋
For me it sounds like the cockatiel would be the best . Thank you so much for this informative video. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to future videos!

hi. I have a small question. I got a parrot 6 years ago, already grown up from another owner. Until now, it is impossible to touch, peck your hands hard. I tried to tame it. I wanted him to sit on my arm but it's none of that ... it runs away or pecks. Is there any chance for my parrot to trust us? My parrot is cockatiel
you will need to give your new bird time to get used to it's new surroundings. It can take time. I have a tiel that I got when she was 6, spent all her life in a cage basically alone. Had major trust issues, would always run away and fly when you got close. But over time she got used to us, and now MUST be on someone at all times.
Im changing my cockitail❤ to a tamed one im sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. HAPPY❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
