i find it easier using a song since im not used to letters in maths (other than bases higher than 10), but maybe i could tell other people this so its still helpful
Yes, the song is a wonderful trick too! The advantage of the mnemonic system is you can use it to memorize any string of numbers you want 🙃 happy maths!
I just memorized the song.. 3.14159 this is pi followed by 2653589 circumference over diameter 79 then 323 OMG can’t you see 8462643 and now we’re on a spree 38 and 32 now we’re blue oh who knew 7950 then 2, 88 and 41 so much fun now a run 97169399 and 3,7,51 HALF WAY DONE 058 now don’t be late 209 where’s the wine 7-4 the 94459, 230 we gotta 78 we can’t wait 1640628 were almost to the end keep going 62 we’re getting through 0899 on time 8628034 theres only a few more, then 82, then 53. 42 11 7-0 and 67
I trust that she isn’t looking, also this helps me a lot because, when I was in kindergarten I won ( well tie) but still, I didn’t get pie I got jelly beans :( also, they were bad jelly beans from the jelly bean game :( :( :( but anyway I love your Chanel!! (SO MUCH!! it helps alot)
"So, P is kinda like the 9 if I reflected it over the y-axis." Only a math major or a math nerd (such as myself) would explain it in such a manner and appreciate the explanation. (Ya gotta love it! LOL.) Yet, somehow, the x-axis and origin don't get any love to explain using the "b"? (I'm splitting my sides laughing!) A thoroughly enjoyable video. You definitely have a gift for presentation! Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see your future videos, and, yes, I'm telling all my friends about your channel.
I don't really get it- Yet I'm a nine year old child so I don't think I could I'm learning from the song. All I learned so far is 3.14159265358979 I'll get it someday.
When I was learning it from Harry Lorayne's book, I was thinking F and V would be better for 5 (and they probably would be), but I didn't want to confuse myself by arguing with the book I was reading, so I stuck with his system (the same one on this video). With a little practice, it became automatic, so there was no point in revising it once I was used to it. If you want to change it around, go ahead. Your system would be just as consistent, and just as good for you, but the Major System has become pretty standardized among memory experts. You may end up arguing with every video, every book, and every resource you are trying to learn it from.
Random question - anyone else notice this pattern? 79-32-38 ... 38-32-79 I remember 2 digits at a time, using film titles and their year of release, e.g. '79=Alien, '32=Freaks, '38=Robin Hood/Errol Flynn/freak in bed
She explains the major system. It seems weird at first, but it becomes automatic with practice. I can see a phone number and come up with words for it in seconds.
1 ->10 : "I'm tired. I'll punch a lama." 11->20: "Lovebug be my name. Fire!" 21 ->30: "Ginger Mom foaming cow." (I ignore the g in the "ing" ending) 31 ->40: "Blessing fevered pig." 41 ->50: "Ditch pump. Bum cold" 51 ->60: "Slave nose booger beer" (a product that did not sell very well) 61 -> 70: " Real bunny mask fetish" 71 -> 80: "Horse chain fish unsafe, boy." 81 -> 90: "Puffy Shiny-face Marvin" 91-100 : "Alarming toad eggs. Choke" 101-110: "Puffin drives fish hole: 111-120: "Demon venom, sage jar." 121-130: "Kiss bum for roach soup" 131-140: "Lilies living on mad cow." 141-150: "Kneel. Male bears fighting." 151-160: "Free food. Dead girls." 161-170: "Never eat snake! Stop!" 171-180: "Movie land. Diesel hellhole." 181-190: "Badger rushing in. Brave" 191-200: "Bleary bums move tub" I'm using a familiar golf course as a memory palace. 5 locations for each hole, a set of ten digits for each location. Right now I'm up to 500.

💯Best video yet! 💯Now I dare you to do 1,000 digits of PI!

I like the fact that she used a very small amount of letters for the Major System. I have seen others that use loads.

I saw your video for the first time in my life and today I can tell you 100 digitals of Pai in 1 minute. Without watching

I think it'll be easier to remember the number 5 as "S" cuz the letter S almost looks like 5
