- Miking up a bass cabinet is not a big deal nowadays. A lot of fantastic microphones are on the market. One of the legends is the AKG 112. Obviously designed after it is the T.Bone D 300. So I took both and compared them. Sound, Construction, Price, etc.

Super funky playing Ove! Nice work mate.
Thanks Shane! I practiced a while for this one ;-)
Thanks, dude! Coming from you, it means a lot!
I love it: globalisation rules the world. :-)
The very first comparison made me go for the T.Bone's sound, but with all the subsequent comparisons you made, it became clear that the AKG is superior in sounds, volume and clarity. I still give some credit to the T Bone. Your playing is great too. Lastly, thank you so much for the history of AKG. I feel privileged to know that. Take care!
You rock man
Thanks!
The D112 sounds a lot better and captures the mids and low mids that are where the bass tone sounds best . More gain and overall better focus .
the name of mic is BD-300, there is a typo in the title.
Writing this because it's nice material, will be easier to find.

What I meant was wrong letters order which is already corrected by the author
I use an AKG D112 Mkll...great bass mic...takes over 160db volume distortion free...
20hz - 20kHz , -5db 20hz, -5db 20kHz...clearer top end & more defined with a clearer deep bass...my favourite gigging bass mic
The T-Bone is more of a Shure styled mic...the AKG reminds me of a '50's space craft out of a Flash Gordon episode...neat...the AKG sounds so much nicer imo,
worth the extra money as the AKG D112 Mkll should last for many years & is more robustly built....
I have a volume knob so T bone for me
BD (not DB) stands for bass drum I think. May not be designed for bass guitar. Thanks for the history lesson. Yawn!
