jen waitress on wheels Hi... Same here... and then a recently friend told me that the coaster that fell in the ocean was in fact called the “Star Jet”, which replaced the Jet Star in 2002. So it wasn’t OUR coaster that’s gone... I had to wrap my mind around that one, because I’ve not been to Seaside in MANY years and never knew they replaced it. Looks strikingly similar! Anyway, it was so sad to see all the damage. But boy is Jersey strong! 😉
Pretty awesome content. Hurricane Sandy came in and destroyed a lot of memories and familiar places. I remember like yesterday having so many bonfires on Monmouth Beach (we chose Monmouth because it's rock wall would shield us from being seen by the cops) in this little half circle of rocks that you could sit on. I went there for the first time after Sandy only a few weeks ago. My little half circle of rock chairs now buried and gone. Remember that rock wall I mentioned? The sand is practically just as high as it and the stairs buried. Like I said many memories and familiar places gone. Being from Jersey I saw the chaos. People almost killing themselves over gas. Prepare yourselves people. No one is ready for a major catastrophe. If people freaked out that much in only a week imagine something truly apocalyptic. People are not ready. Like I said... Prepare yourselves.
Boy we’re you right Ponyboy. I hope you’ve been saying gold. It makes me sick that the way I remember seaside as a kid no longer exists. So many memories gone it sucks.
Peter Davanzo sorry Pete but you’re wrong. The jet star operated from like the 70’s to the year 2000. It was replaced by the star jet which is the coaster you see in the video. It’s not your memory that’s bad it just gets confused by many people all the time.
When they built the boardwalk, that pier was built over the ocean. That's why it landed in the ocean almost fully intact. It didn't have far to go. Seaside's boardwalk has never been the same since Sandy.
I love this video! Nicely done! (I especially liked the nighttime with the stars.)
I have been on the jet star hundreds of times..since i was little. So.sad its all gone.

Hurricane sandy destroyed the starjet was devastating I was a month old since it happened!
Repair
The coaster is actually the Star Jet. The predecessor was the Jet Star, which was scrapped in 2000.

Hurricane Sandy in 2012 destroyed the pier and pushed it out into the ocean.
NJ but that nevar happened
Cristian Banuelos please tell me you are a hurricane sandy conspiracy theorist 😹
Cristian Banuelos LMFAO you’re a clown. It happened. I was there
