8 Microneedling Mistakes Slowing your Results

  • 8 of the most common at-home microneedling or dermarolling mistakes that might slow down (or worsen) your progress or results!
At-home microneedling or dermarolling is one of the best, if not, the best way to build collagen and elastin on your skin. This will help get rid of acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and can help reduce large pores!
Microneedling is a more affordable option compared to professional microneedling. It is non-invasive, and is generally easy to do! However, many people struggle with it, and often not see results because of a few, common mistakes that hinder progression.

These are all great tips! My dermaroller was a bit expensive but the truth is, our skin needs the right things to heal. So I do a lot of research before doing anything to my skin.
And it's working well even if slowly. I am understanding my body and its needs more everyday. My routine to get rid of acne marks and acne itself is:
DIET (because acne is not healthy)
    - Low sugar, no gluten, no dairy
    - Fiber and lots of water
    - Zinc supplements (copper is necessary too when you take zinc)
    - Vitamin D and k2 so I don't get health problems for avoiding the sun light
    - Magnesium to help me get my beauty sleep properly
    SKINCARE
    - Strong skin barrier by moisturizing everyday (cerave) and using sunscreen and a hat when I go out
    - Tamanu oil (bought online, waiting for it to get here, not gonna lie, high hopes for this one)
    - Dermarolling once a month and only using hyaluronic acid afterwards
    - Squalane to prevent aging and sun damage
    - I wash only with water during the morning and then with a sulfur soap at night (just a little of it) then I dry my face by touching the skin gently with disposable paper (instead of rubbing with a towel you know what I mean)
    - I don't wear makeup (but if I did, I would remove it very gently with coconut oil)
    - Oh, and let's not forget the pillow case. I wash it every week, and it's silky.
Yeah, I have acne marks (hyperpigmentation) and some pimples. But I know my skin is healthy and my skin barrier is strong. My skin just needs care. So I won't give up and you're not giving up either!
Our skin is telling us something, we just have to listen!

I change my pillowcase every two days. Some acne sufferers change the pillowcase every day. And according to my research, coconut oil is comedogenic, which means it will clog pores and cause breakouts. But if these things are working for you, then that’s great.

$70 for 8 uses is absolutely laughable. There are high quality derma stamps with gold plated titanium needles for $25 elsewhere. The Banisher is nothing but branding and marketing. Please, don’t waste your money on something that’s only 5% higher quality. The results will be identical.

Thank you for your time and advice, but you have to consider some derma rollers are cheap in price because they come directly from the manufacture (China), companies buy them and they just change or add a brand to it. This is not always the case, whenever buying a product, make sure they have a good reputation.

  • @megaliberty

I just upgraded to a derma pen, and I'm loving it. My derma roller tended to leave tracks around my nose because of its shape. I can do a. 75 needle length without using a benzocain cream. There is only a little bleeding and my face was raw looking afterwards, but two days later and it's back to normal coloration.
The pen is definitely faster than the derma roller or a stamp, as I can adjust both the needle length and speed.
My skin should be ready in a week for my next treatment, although everybody needs to be aware of their particular skin and what it will tolerate. Some people may need two weeks between sessions, depending on the needle length.

Do the derma roller track marks go away I’m super upset I have track marks on my forehead now not that bad I just don’t want them to be permanent can someone please respond with advice from experience thanks 🙏🏻

    • @megaliberty
      @megaliberty Рік тому

@@bloodwashedsaint You've probably noticed by now that your track marks have gone away. Mine have never stayed. I used to get track marks with my Dr. Pen, but then I realized that I just needed to do some combination of lessening the motor speed, slowing the movement of the pen across the face, or lessening the needle length. The needle wasn't given enough time to retract before I would move the pen, so it left track marks.
If you want to do microneedling long term, I recommend that you get a pen. The rollers are good for newbies. The pens can be controlled better, they fit anywhere on your face easily, and the tips are affordable and disposable.
Don't inject a lot of foreign substances into your skin. I use plain hyaluronic acid as a slip. I might wait an hour or so after I am done needling, and then I will add something soothing, like Cosrx snail mucin essence, because snail mucin heals the skin faster.
After needling, I am extra gentle to my skin for a couple days. My face seems to heal faster now that I treat it with snail mucin afterwards.

I love your tips! I have been using Dr. Pen's micro-needling at-home kit for months and have noticed great results. However, Vitamin C is one of the worst products to use right after micro-needling or even days after. Dermatologists recommend not using it for at least 72 hours. It is so damaging right after a needle session.

Banisher creates micro channels to trigger the skin’s natural repair system to heal and rebuild new collagen and elastin fibers which are the foundation of the skin. This new layer of skin forming will push out damaged skin and cause scarring to fill in.

All i want is for the box scars to be gone. I notice that there are atill some scarring on your cheeks similar to mine. Can derma rolling help? The length of the needles. 0,25 millimeters won't stimulate collagen, quick recovery, will help only very superficially and light imperfections like hyperpigmentation. Nothing about indented acne scars.

Sandra W if you used vitamin C, your skin may be having an adverse reaction. My dermatologist said it could cause granulomas.

@@carmenramirez1106 Thank you for answering!. I did have an allergic reaction because my skin is very sensitive but thanks God no granulomas. I watched some people talking about it that day saying granulomas are permanent and I was freaking out!! So I will describe it here for anyone that goes through the same. My skin got super red after the derma roller- my fault- I got a 7 dollar roller 0.5 at a tjmax. and since I had microneedles done by my dermatologist before I thought why not 🙄. After rolling that thing on my face I did put a vitamin c from Skinceuticals and omg it did burn, but usually when I have that kind of procedures done they can burn a little since the channels are open. Anyway, my skin got scarlet red and I thought It would clear up after a day or two, it took 4 days this time!!!. the pores looked enlarged cause skin was swollen more than usual, I guess because the roller pokes holes in all directions, touching it felt like touching a waffle -is the best way I can describe it-. After the 4th day it got super dry, bumps rough to the touch, which was also scary cause I have been fighting all kind of skin problems for years, I did treat it with a fluid to help the irritation and sunscreen. Didnt leave the house cause I know getting sun too soon can cause hyperpigmentation. On day 5 I was able to exfoliate and voilá, new skin and looks plumper, just like after going to the dermatologist, and it looks A-MA-ZING!!!. Next time I won't use the vitamin C though, I did read the silicone in some of those formulations is what causes the granulomas, I guess the one I used didn't have any, but still too irritating to use after. About the experience: totally worth it. Im looking into buying the tool you advertise, cause you are right, the roller pokes holes in all directions and for sensitive skin is not good at all. Also I would not encourage anyone with sensitive skin to do it often, I think once a month should be enough.
