I have a theory that he is base off of Orpheus myth Hades and his wife are both in the Orphic religion also it similar to the Izanagi and his wife myth(the creator of Japan myth).
The game actually reveals the reason why Kalim hates curry but Jamil likes it. I dont know if this counts as a spoiler since its in a vignette and not the main story but Ill try to put it under a spoiler cut just in case.
Part of Jamils job as Kalims retainer is to be his personal food taster. This is because Kalim has a history of being targeted for assassinations and kidnapping because hes the heir of House Asim. One day, Jamil had to taste test a batch of curry that was supposed to be served to Kalim. But the curry turned out to be poisoned and Jamil ended up in a coma for two weeks. This traumatized Kalim and made him averse to curry and any food not made by Jamil, but Jamil still considers curry his favorite food despite the near death experience.
Additional fun fact: Kalims favorite food, coconut juice, has been historically used to treat poisons in India and Africa.

Something I noticed about Azul Dorm outfit is that it Mimics the octopus having Eight legs. If you count his human limbs (Arms and legs) its four. Then add the scarf end and the jacket sleeves makes it like he has Eight tentacles in land which is a REALLY cool detail to do for an Ursula inspired Character in land!

I think what it means by Jade hate organized harmony is that, he hate when think going according to plan. When nothing bad happen. When everything goes well.
He likes it when things goes unpredictable. Because he hate being bored too like Floyd.

Ive never noticed that Kalim's head scarf goes around his shoulder 😂 Boo is literally dressed for maximizing the amount of things trailing behind him as he noisally darts around the school.
Jade's pet peeve has more to do with routine. He likes when the unpredictable happens and treasures his brother's mood swings as they can really throw things into chaos. There are hints that he either knows what triggers them but witholds the info from classmates and the staff so they don't use them against Floyd, or chooses to not learn what causes Floyd's mood to shift so drastically as it's the unpredictability he treasures the most. There are times he appreciates peace. Especially when he goes on his Mountain Lovers Club Excursions as he enjoys taking in the scenery, foraging for edible plants and mushrooms, and collecting souvenirs to make Terrariums but that is the literal extent he will appreciate peace and quiet and some predictability
the shorter characters are actually also wearing ties, just tied up in bows! presumably because they're too long for them 😂 (although I can definitely believe that lilia would embrace it for the cute factor and epel would feel pressured to also go for that....whereas i'd think riddle wouldn't want to look untidy or have it emphasize how short he is even more lmaoooo)
I love all the little details put into their character designs and how the fandom has put out some really cool meta ideas about outfit choices - like ruggie's bandana being worn as if he's trying to protect his neck like a defensive animal, or of course epel's clashing aesthetics.
(also - as a heartslabyul stan, i can't defend trey's dumb hat in his dorm fit, but I can explain it in that he's supposed to also echo the mad hatter on top of being a card soldier 😂either way, still miles better than rook's....choices.... 🤢)
I love all the Small little details in everyone’s outfit. They can be so subtle but fit the character so well. Leona and his sandals are my favorite.
There was definitely a lot of thought put into everything.

There is actually a story behind why malleus doesn't like full sized cakes i'm not sure if it counts as a spoiler or not but the story doesn't apear in the main story so i'm gonna write it down here

Reason why malleus doesn't like full sized cake is because when he was a kid he had a birthday party but nobody showed up so he tried to give the cake to his castle staff but they refused so he ended up eating the whole cake by himself thus getting a heartburn

This is absolutely correct! I learned about this in my animation class when we went over character designs!!!
Mickey Mouse was the example my teacher used since he’s pretty much all circles, absolutely nothing sharp or point about him. Pete is a villain that is mostly square-ish but he does have pointy ears. And mickeys bad cousin Mortimer definitely had a triangle like head.

To be fair, the crochet with hedgehogs and flamingo thing is straight from Alice in Wonderland 😂 knowing Riddle he probably cares about the safety of the animals, but hes the last person thats gonna question why they have to play with animals if the queen said so lol. But you probably already knew that. I do love that YW gave the added detail of them being different colors tho lol.
For Malleus, I headcannon that the reason he didn't like full cakes is because the only reason why you would have a full cake, is because you had no one to share it with :(

FINALLY! Someone else awkwaoldges it! Lilia is NOT following the uniform guidelines! His "uniform" is completely different from the actual uniform! But everyone knows he has no right to be at this school anyway, they just let peepaw do what he wants. You dont tell Malleus's overseer what to do lol.
Also when you read the side stories, it kinda seems like Lilia is the housewarden lol. Hes kinda triffling with how he shows up to housewarden meetings cuz he knows Malleus will forget, but he also doesnt make sure Malleus actually shows up lmao.
It's believed that fae like Malleus can get drunk off of milk, cream, or honey based products hence why he likes Ice Cream because the dose of milk is small but a large full sized cake would get him pretty drunk fairly quickly.
He likes ice cream cause it cools his mouth off (he’s a dragon fae; allegedly his adoptive dad character invented shaved ice to give to him) and doesn’t like cake cause he ate a whole one by himself as a kid which hurt his stomach.
I believe in one of leonas card story it's revealed that the reason savanaclaw doesn't have a vice housewarden is because they kept trying to fight leona for his position so he just stopped having a vice housewarden lol

I just love the fact that both Jade and Floyd love octo-related dish while azul is an octo. But actually why Floyd's fav food is takoyaki and why he hates mushrooms so much that he'd rather eat an eel (which is....cannibalism??) than to eat mushrooms are explained in different vignettes (as well as the story behind their matching earrings) I'll put a spoiler tag just in case
In one of his birthday card story he said that he liked takoyaki because there isnt just octopus you could put in it. You could add whatever you want which is very broad and does not restrain his unpredictable creativity. He also mentioned of holding a takoyaki making contest to see which one could make the weirdest LOL
And the reason why he hates mushrooms so much is because Jade made him and Azul consume them for 10 consecutive days NON-STOP for EVERY meal. He started growing them in the bontanical garden and kept some in his terrariums too. Since the tweels share a room, Floyd's basically sick of seeing (and eating) mushrooms everyday.
And Jade's not the only member of the Mountain Lover Club, he has mushrooms to keep him company too XD
The earrings story is one of my favs. These are actually scales of a sturgeon challenged the tweels to a fight in middle school and since they were interested in its beautiful scales so they requested them as the winning price (And I assume you all know the outcome so yeh....fish mafia go brr) oh and another funfact is that sturgeon scales are considered protective charms in the Coral Sea
I was so looking forward to reaching the part where you talk about Malleus, and I wasn't disappointed! :D I am also hopelessly in love with him 💚🖤 The reason why he dislikes full-sized cakes is because...he spent his birthdays alone in the castle back in Briar Valley, and had no one to share the cake with, so he ate it all by himself which later gave him a heartburn 😭😭

"That thing" on the back of the Daisomia(?) uniforms is a spine accessory that can reference the spine of Maleficents dragon form and also in the live action dress Maleficent wears (Can be seen when she gets her wings back)
The reason why malleus hates whole cakes is because every time it was his birthday, he had to eat whole cakes since everyone is afraid of him and everything- and he got heart burn because he forced himseld to eat it all. 😭 He's so sweet hehe- anyway. That's why when we asked if he'd like to eat the cake with us he said "Maybe I'll like whole cakes a little more if I eat it with other people"

I don't think vil's dorm fit is meant to be a kimono or a yukuta I'm pretty sure it's meant to be a dress or robe similar to a prist or pope's robes it makes more sense bc the shirt is similar to a prist/alter boy shirt and his overblot design is a nun. It's probably also a reference to how royalty is treated like a religion. God save the Queen/King and all that lol

In the official book I have, it refers to the sash around his waist as an “obi” which is worn with a kimono. So because of that I went ahead and assumed it was a kimono.

vil’s dorm uniform is a yukata because kimonos are more for the winter and yukatas are for the summer. the way to tell the difference is that kimonos have the white underlining while yukatas don’t. Other then their outfit, the easiest way to tell the twins apart is their eyes. Floyd’s eyes are downturned and Jade’s a upturned. I just think this is a cool little fact :)

cold truth: the only Heartslabyul student that could stand me is deuce and tray.... the rest would die from lethal amount of stress from me guarantee.... out of all the students who would actually deal with me well are potentially Lilia, Jade (because of his brother), Floyd, Kalim (because he's a ray of sunshine), and Malleus
also Coats draped over the shoulders usually represent power, they want to be seen as powerful: hence why Crowley does it since he's the headmage and very powerful, Azul does it because he wants others to understand he is powerful and successful... and if you hear his backstory it works along side this.
Same with Lilia, he's extremely powerful which is shown during Beanfest where he beats Malleus in a 1v1, a future king and one of the top 5 mages in the world. unlike tho Azul, the rest of his outfits being oversized, like his dorm uniform or Alchemy uniform, or his typical school outfit where his pants aren't reaching his ankles it shows he's more of a carefree spirit.. along with his hair.
I love how you can see their personalities in the pose, clothing alterations, hair, ect. without even hearing their voices and playing the game.

The video is so informative, only one problem. The math for the heights are off. Example, Azul is 176 cm, which is 5.77 ft, but that is not 5' 7", that is 5' 9". I realized this during Azul's part and actually wanted to sob because the video is an over an hour, which is a lot of work. But I still really like the video and it is an easy way to introduce my favorite game to my friends.

Kalim and Jamil probably dress a lot to not burn directly from the sun. doesn't explain why it looks so warm but the way it covers them up is probably from that (maybe they are used to hot so inside the school it feels so refreshing it's almost cold?

I love this game, I just got into chapter 3(Azul’s story). Ngl Savanclaw is my fav dorm, no it’s not cuz I think Leona is gorgeous and Ruggie is adorable, ………..yes it is I’m a lying weeb girl lol. I feel ya on pronouncing any of these names. Side note looking at Azul and the twins’ dorm uniforms gives me Yakuza vibes, which makes sense.
I'd like to comment that, Ruggie's uniforms are baggy because they used to be Leona's. Leona gave them to Ruggie and Ruggie had to tailor them to fit his lanky ass frame.

Small correction on Azul: In all of the second years, Jamil is the oldest. So that makes the Tweels (Jade and Floyd) the second eldest so Azul IS younger than them 😂

I didn't know anything about this game when I started, ended up with Deuce as my first SSR (since i didn't know you could reroll your starting pull at the time, not that I knew the characters anyway) but I immediately fell in love with deuce. He feels like a real friend and has relatable vibes
Deuce is the BEST! Definitely one of my favorite characters in the game. Deuce is really relatable and you just want to root for him

I wanna supply a fun fact about Floyd’s style. Essentially he dresses this way because he doesn’t like tight clothing, and Jade has a like somewhere where he says he has to constantly re tie Floyd’s bow tie cause he keeps undoing it.
Also Jade loving mushrooms while Floyd hates them will never not be funny to me. And if you’re biased towards Jade I’m the same with Floyd so respect.

Fun (not really) fact about Kalim's and Jamil's preferred food:
In the past, Jamil - as the food taster - got really sick after eating Kalim's curry, so sick that he had to stay in bed for over two weeks in a coma
While this experience didn't affect Jamil's preference, it seems that it really got to Kalim since it reminded him of the poisoning of his friend
On the other hand some speculate that the reason why Kalim loves coconut juice is because it has been historically used as a medicine to counter poisonous attacks
So yeah, it's really interesting the fact that they have such different tastes but it's also very fcked up 🥲
