As a Malleus and Lilia's stan i agree with the Malleus one but not Lilia's.
Lilia has been my favorite for the longest amount of time. I love that he is fun and chaotic but also can be serious and reliable when he needs to be. Lilia is arguably the most mature and inmature member of the cast.

Idia and Leona were the ones who visually got me into twist. Still love them. Absolutely adore the entire octoville trio. However, I was genuinely suprised that Ruggie stole my heart. Like I overlooked him cause visually he is not what I'm typically drawn to in games, but his personality won me over. His love and what he does for his community back home is so admirable, the way he problem solves while not always morally correct, he is getting shit done. While his life is hard the fact that he is still playful, finds purpose in everything, takes enjoyment and appreciates the small things makes me smile. Also i dont think hes a sub, more of a switch. The way he took charge when he was working at the grotto, so things could run smoothly, got jade to work, and the way he plays spelldrive, Ruggie knows when to be a dom and when to sub. I think if he really did fck w you and opens his walls, you would never doubt he loves you because his actions will always be attuned to what you need.
Leona being my favorite character and Trey being my second favorite is a VERY weird feeling. Having 99% of my brain want a broken lion-man while that 1% is being normal and lovingly domestic.

I tell myself I’m so compatible with Rook and yet. Once you go Sebek you never go back😂 there is something about him that makes every Sebek fan rabid. similar to Silver very chivalrous and LOYAL he’s also quite kind at heart after all the yelling. AND he can cook, read, super strong, intelligent, has a job, and a nice family. I think lot of people relate to being a very emotional but also pretty logical at the same time. I love characters that have very strong personalities bc i have one too. Also Sebek hot😂 i also like Trey though so idek what is going on LMAO
As a autistic person. I love Rook, Floyd/Jade, Idia, Sebek, Riddle, Leona, and Malleus. But I do love everyone as equals.
Started the game for Rollo (being a huge Hunchback of Notre-Dame fan), and even after the event was over, he still was my favourite character and self ship. I did grow to love Riddle, though, and could connect with his backstory. I didn't realize that mothers could be abusive in ways besides physical and locking someone in a tower until Chapter 1, which made me honestly rethink my life.
Leona and Jack were such unnecessary call outs leave me alooooone 😭😭😭😭

Getting roasted for simping for an octopus. Very accurate though I respect that he's smart and hard working a classy but still has a goofy dorky side he tries to cover up. I was definitely the I got bullied and just really want good things for him and him to not take it out on others with the scams so much, but also I want a very pretty\hansome switch that I can have snarky banter back and forth with. Also, yeah with the tentacles.... guilty as charged... 😅Mostly I just like that he likes to come off as cold cunning and charismatic but then right beneath that is just soft sweet and a huge hyperfixating dork cause .... relatable honestly

Sebek Zigvolt was the one I genuinely picked as my first character I plunge with when I first time playing the game. And I'm forever enamoured just like ROOK does✨
Actually really I couldn't really see myself on equal grounds with him but I genuinely want to really REALLY know deeply about him✨
Before I even start playing the game in its ENG two month-release, I only discover TWST through AO3 while reading a crossover of Pokemon, and I didn't know that they are actually ANIME-FIED twisted from DISNEY VILLAINS, so I enamoured and plunged into the game after that. Before I searched more about it though, I think I recall the first I read about Sebek in a Pokemon CrossOver where he was paired with a Politoed(look what would happened if they're both in a same room, chaos right?😅) And I genuinely want to get to know him more even before I could really see his image and heard his whole 'WAKA-SAMA simp' shtick going on him. And as he, for some reason, with the crumbs and tidbits that the main, side and vignette stories, has a LOT of layers it felt like a set of barriers(how he express, his actions, his commitments, etc.) that he set up himself and I want to slowly(AND SURELY) making them down to know who, what, where, why and how he became to be. 😊✨
I may be a typical quiet type and not expressing them through spoken words, however... ACTIONS SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS!!!⚡⚡⚡✨🐊

I self ship with Floyd, it's because he reminds me of Zack from Angels of Death (including the voice actor). I want someone who is strong, and domineering and fun to be around because I am often hard on myself.
SEBEK IS WONDERFUL AND I WILL DEFEND MY CHOICE TIL THE DAY I DIE!!!! For real though i dont really know why i become so invested in Sebek, but yeah shortly after playing, it defintly wasnt out of pity, i think its just because i became so inexplicably happy whenever he showed up on screen. I love all the first years and i find Sebek to be exceptionally adorable, the first time he showed up on screen and spoke in the main story i lost my mind lol :3

Kalim is my sunshine and I adore him. Yes, I tend to go for the kawaii happy characters. But I also very much want Jamil to be happy and taken care of and I also think Floyd is adorable. (No, us Floyd shippers are not ok, but we love our funky lil eel man)

Some of the themes you two talked about just hits the nail on the spot for me, like yeah malleus was the charater that got my sight set on this wonderful game/world with the dark vipe he has going and the fact in a way he is a genderbend maleficent and inspired by a villian character, just said to me "sign me up" (going from loving heroes as a kid to love villians as an adult so got hooked right away with the whole villian vipe on the game)
And when i got to watch the game itself deuce was my go-to from the start with how much jim hawkins vipe he has and just like you said the "try his best, has his heart in the right place, but stumpels around it" just got to me.
But ooooh boy here comes the funny part, ace slithert his way into my heart out of nowhere and here is the fun bit, for me he is a enemy to loves trope for me, because i could not stand the guy from the start, like the irritating prankster that gets into trouple and ropes you into it. But as the story got running it slowly shifted for me, with seeing him have a good heart of gold burried in him (i think the starting point for me was with the ghost bride event?)
And rollo im just neutral with in the seens that he is apealing with his estetic (dont see him as an frollo junior like some portray him as, but more like a rebel fighter who has the meaning right but stumbels on how to act on it) and i get his viewpoint with magic, but at the same time im like "if you think magic is deadly and dangerous you dont know how humans can be just as if not more deadly and dangerous on there own" and he has his heart in the right place but his acting on it are just a tad off in the wrong direction.

Malleus, I actually didn’t know any coming into the game and the first character I was shown was not him. But I like him because I’m a sucker for characters with horns.
Sebek, my sweet boy, I didnt feel bad for him I just got irrationally attached to him because his personality and attitude are appealing to me. He’s a sweet boio and I would die for him.
Yeah I like sebek too. But he strikes me as secretly ticklish. Like he would say that he's not ticklish but in reality he is.
The moment I heard Jamil’s voice I fell head over heels in love with him!! Not only is he a good cook but that man can dance 😍😍😍😍 Plus I also love his sadistic side 😅🙏🏽 Actually I never was unsure about him and was in love with him since day one❤❤❤ I actually was unsure about Kalim until I heard about his backstory and decided to blame the System!

I wouldn't blame Idia for not wanting to have children (That's my head canon for him anyway.) considering the terrible fate all Shroud children are doomed to from birth... and the whole "He built his own unhealthy coping mechanism." thing after his brother's death waaaaaay before his time.

Not sure about the domestic aspect, but as someone who selfships with Jamil I definitely enjoy his sadistic side. That is, as long as it’s not directed at me. Because I’m a sadist too and I get really hyped up whenever he’s being mean to other people, it’s always fun to watch. (Also after everything Jamil goes through on a daily basis he deserves to be able to go off the rails from time to time.)
But more than anything I appreciate how sensible he is.
Get you a man who can do both.
In terms of husbando material, Jamil is my dream man as far as what I would want at the top. However, when I think of what I actually need in a partner, I see Trey as my choice, mainly because the man screams ‘realistic personality traits’ in my mind. He seems good with handling the family budget, he’s good with both cooking and cleaning, he’s down to earth and knows the fruits of labor, that sort of thing. Maybe I’m thinking too much about it, but I feel like this works…
the Tomoe - Libra - Vil pipeline was so real for me
(although instead of self-shipping i rather enjoy the dynamic of shipping him with an immortal/semi-immortal being like a dragon, fae or a genie, simply because someone falling for him, knowing he'll eventually pass and be outlived by his significant other is so tragic, and i can hardly imagine he would ever accept immortality even if offered, for the fear of irreversibly (and inevitably) changing into something he would never wish to become
+ one of my favourite traits of his, is his will to do and accomplish things by himself without relying too much on someone else, it is of course very important and valid to ask for help if needed, but putting him together with someone whose concept of life partly consists of fulfilling wishes or granting favors (for a price) to humans is just so entertaining)

on another note, the one guy who got me into Twisted Wonderland was Idia specifically for his shiny fire hair (my neurodivergent brain went wooohooo cool long and shiny fire hair), so that assumption was spot on
to be honest i never really liked Dr Facillier in the movie that much (although his song was catchy and the animation stunning), but Sam just scratched the itch of one of my favorite tropes (person having a supernatural-esque shop, think: The Magic of Chocolate, Pet Shop of Horrors, xxxHolic) and i feel like i could spend way too much time looking around (probably also getting lost) in his shop, a lover's shopping discount would be so amazing

I had the opposite with Ace. He's the man you meet in college who's the first person to strike a conversation with you on day one. Between classes, you tease each other and play games together, then you start having feelings for each other and begin dating. I like boys who tease in an affectionate way and able to get the task at hand done. That's why Ace and Ruggie are my husbandos. HOWEVER, I don't like Reader/Character stories, I don't ever imagine inserting myself into TWST and dating anyone. I feel uncomfortable with self-inserts, fluff or not.
I gagged at Neige's section, I hate him so much. He's too sweet, he's so pure it's actually aggravating. I also think he's the most BORING character in design. I never liked Snow White as a character anyway, listening to her through the whole movie hurt my ears just from how high pitched the VA was. I now can't watch that movie without pausing for breaks. Neige has the same problem, but worse in that he can be shota, which is already a no for me. If not already clear, Neige LeBlanche is my #1 most HATED character in this entire game.
