Terrific video Mark! You looked so comfortable onboard and had a great experience. There's not much I can say about Finnair that you didn't cover in your video. That seat is innovation, iconic, spacious and comfortable and the Finnair onboard service has always been exceptional when I've flown with them. Really look forward to your next trip report.
Hi buddy, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙌
Finnair all the way now for me 😂
I appreciate the kind words and will have another review out in a couple of weeks all being good 😊
Thanks again for watching and have a great week 🙌😁
Amazing video Mark. You’ve sold Finnair business class to me! Have loved your videos since your first one. All best.
Hi Richard, you’ll have an amazing experience
Let me know how it goes 😁🙌
Hey Mark, hope you’re well. I flew Finnair Business to Goa (via Helsinki) a few years ago and they were the friendliest, warmest, and most accommodating airline. Great review. You’ve reminded me about how good they are. Cheers!
Hi Karl, my experience although a lot shorter was exactly the same 👍
They are a fabulous airline and something just feels a bit different than normal in a positive way 🤷🏻😂
Take care and thank for sharing 😁
Great video Mark! So pleased to see Finnair featured. It truly is as good as sounds. I have a few friends who have flown that flight for business meetings. The seating is very classy. The meal looked okish. Although im not keen on cannelloni any time of the day. I would have just enjoyed the blueberry juice. When I lived and worked in Germany we used to get bottles of that from the NAAFI. We swore by the stuff. Anyway Mark, have a great weekend. Take care, Tina
Thanks so much, Tina! I’m glad you enjoyed the Finnair review and that blueberry juice is definitely a winner! 🏆 😂
Totally with you on the cannelloni; it wouldn’t be my first choice either, but the juice made up for it!
I’ve since found out I could have ordered a different meal online but wasn’t told at anytime during the booking process so 🤷🏻
Hope you have a fantastic week
Take care and thanks for watching 🤦😁
Great video thanks for the tip on the 10.20 aircraft 😊
Thanks Sean 🙌😁
This video was awesome. I think the business class is better on this particular flight because you actually have a real business class instead of an Europe flight business flight where seats are all the same 3 across, but middle seat blocked off. The service you received seemed great to mean and really do you need a menu for just a short three hour flight.
Mark looking forward to more great video cheers mate
Hi Jonathan,
I hope you’re well! 😁 It was really good, and I highly recommend Finnair 🙌.
I was comparing it to BA’s small menu in Club Europe; it’s nice to have a choice and know what you’ll be eating. But I totally get your point-first-world problems and all that 🤦😂
Thank you for watching and have a great weekend
The Best Product For Short Haul In Europe.Great Video And Info
Hi Gunvald, it was top tier and very enjoyable 😁
Thank you for watching
It really shines on a long haul route
Great review video.
Hi Brian, glad you enjoyed it 😁🙌
Now looking for an excuse to visit Helsinki... Great review, Mark!
The best part will probably be the flight.
Thank you Sandip 🙌😁
You’ll have an amazing time, make sure you pack some warm clothes 🥶😂
Have a great week 😁

Helsinki is a nice city with friendly people. Give it a shot, you won´t regret it.
Hi Mark, good video on your Helsinki flight. Not surprised that you enjoyed the flight. The only downer was the lack of menu choice. Didn't like the food on offer, but not, for a short flight, a deal breaker. After seeing this, want to go to Helsinki now. 😊 👍
You can preorder meals on AY flights, at the moment there seem to be four options on Euro Business flights
Hi Alan, I hope you’re well 😁
I have since found out you can preorder meals but wasn’t told at any point in the booking 🤦
Thank you for watching and let me know if you end up booking Helsinki 😂👍
Hey Mark where you been? Really missed ya. Anyways, my little contribution today is - the Cathay lounge is just tops. I have used it a few times out to Hong Kong and each time it has been really superb. That's all for now! Btw Santiago ( Chile ) was just fab and BA was surprising good there and back ( 787/9 First ).................off on a cruise next!. Oh and yeah I have done that Finnair A350 to Helsinki before, back when they first introduced the A350 on the route back in Oct 2018, the Business cabin was old version though.
Hi buddy! Had to take a little break to sort a few things out at home, but I’m back at it now 🤦😂
Totally agree, the Cathay lounge is amazing-I filled up on dim sum 😂😂
Chile sounded absolutely insane, and going there and back in first class is just next level! Im not afraid to admit I’m extremely jealous 😂🙌
@@tradingplaces787 Yeah Mark - if you ever get the op' do Santiago. I was a bit daunted by 14 hours even in First but it just whizzed by. On the return, we flew right up the coast of South Am. before turning right towards La Paz and the Amazon, it was simply amazing, I was glued to the window. Some of the best flights I have had with BA in First. To my surprise the 787 was packed to the gills, thought it would have been a low-demand route, even First was 100% loaded. Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental on their Club Floor - again really great, totally recommend it. Overall was a great trip!! ( although I did catch a bloody cold in the LATAM lounge on the way back - must stop snogging random blokes...).
I would love to try the Finnair A350 business class someday, it looks great.
Hi John, you’ll have a great experience 👍😁
Thank you for watching
Great video! I don’t think European airlines offer preflight drinks on their short haul flights, only long haul. Hopefully, you had a great time in Finland! I'm going there in a month's time.
i flew the Helsinki to Bangkok last year honestly the best business class I've ever flown in. it felt nice and private as well. i was on Suisse air last month i felt no privacy at all in theirs. although i still enjoyed the seat. and the ba old style is the worst I've been in. new configuration isn't bad. but staff always seem miserable
They also use A330 on the HEL-LHR route on some days, the cabins are identical practically. You can preorder meals, more options available on line.
Hi Mikro thanks for sharing 😁👍
Flew it from LHR-HEL-LAX, great product.
Terminal 3 is a Lounge haven if flying from T3.
Food at Cathay Pacific Lounge and drinks at Qantas lounge. Avoid BA and AA.
Nice review. Finnair's business class hard product is currently my favourite among all oneworld carriers, yes qsuite move aside. If you like to try it on a cheap cash fare try ARN-HEL-DEL or BUD-HEL-DEL, tickets hover around £1100 return, even saw some for £950 recently. Bangkok is available for around £1450 return, cheapish in today's world of business class cash fares.
The evening flight (AY1338) also uses the A350 and A330 occasionally - I'm on it tomorrow!
Hi Lee, have a great trip 🙌😁
can you lay flat the set to sleep comfortable for a long hour flight?
No
Great trip..u did well..still cant work out why u didnt getvmeal choices ? But lovely airline . 10:41
Thank you Pauline 🙌🤩
Thank you for this review. You appear to love this seat, and some aspects of it seem to be very nice. But after seeing your review, I'm sure I want to avoid Finnair. I'm surprised by how tiny and uncomfortable the footwell seems to be (3:57). I'm also not a fan of the headrest being made of fabric. Not very hygienic if the previous passenger had a greasy scalp. Even when laying down, your head is on a dirty spot (where the bottom of the previous passenger was, you can of course cover this area with something but you have to be careful, it can move while you sleep). And why a non-reclining seat, in business class?
Hi Brinckau, I understand your points
but I didn’t feel like that whilst on board and would rate this as probably my favourite business class experience so far.
I think most seats have areas where hygiene of some sort could be an issue but that’s part and parcel of travelling on an aircraft that’s been used by passengers before hand.
I thought the seat was clean and very comfortable and in my humble opinion if you did try it you won’t be disappointed 😁🙌
@@tradingplaces787 Indeed, you tried it, I didn't. So, I may be wrong.
@@brinckauno worries 🙌😊
Let me know what you think if you try it out 🛫👍
Thanks that's a trip I am planing to do
Get it booked Gregg you’ll have an amazing flight 👍😁
If you use Avios, the Business Class seats on that Flight are really really hard to come by, but good luck.
Thanks for the video Mark. But pity you made no mention of the fares charged by AY. For out/back LHR-HEL Nov 18-22 the economy fare is almost £75 with C class priced at almost £1,500 ! Is that lovely seat worth the price difference ? I say that because younger son attended a conference in Helsinki a few weeks ago and his travel allowance would not cover AY's price (he booked a few weeks ahead) so he ended up with Norwegian ex-LGW.
When flying any short route within Europe, Business Class fares rarely make sense. To catch Finnair's A350 Business seat on LHR-HEL, it's common to use Avios for an upgrade, or sometimes you get an upgrade offer from Finnair. You can transfer Avios between BA and Finnair.
@@mikrokupu Yes that's a good point. Sadly younger son doesn't do enough travelling with BA to qualify for Avios and so on. He was given £750 to cover 4 nights hotel and the cost of the flights. Therefore BA and AY were out of the question and he opted for more affordable Norwegian ex-LGW. As we all know AY majors on sixth-freedom traffic via HEL so, for those travellers, proceeding beyond HEL, they would not be paying AY's pricey p-t-p LHR-HEL fares.
Hi Alex, thank you for watching, and you’re absolutely right-short-haul business class fares in Europe can be tough to justify. For routes like LHR-HEL, Finnair’s A350 business seat is fantastic, but those prices don’t always make sense! Personally, I often use Avios to upgrade.
I value my Avios at 1p each and I used
18,000 of them +60 quid in taxes,
I agree I wouldn’t be paying £1500 I would definitely choose to sit in economy and save the
Cash
😁👍
Just to say that as a regular economy flyer , Terminal 2 HAS to be better than T3 , which shows its age quite badly nowadays, with the very low ceilings and school/hospital decor and crowded gloomy spaces . If you’re always in a premium lounge I guess it doesn’t matter too much ! .. T2 has plenty of space if you avoid the main area they try to herd you into , high high high ceilings, loads of light , and loads of quiet places to wait in while watching the planes .. sadly the walk to the satellite gates is a pain , but if you’re getting on or off a flight with hours of being stuck there, then it does no real harm ..Finnair bidness looks good tho .. thanks 🙏
Hi, yeah I probably should have clarified T3 is my favourite because of the different lounges it has that are available.
You make some great points and thank you for sharing 😁🙌

The seat is wide and private but IMO, too hard and difficult to be comfortable for sleeping. Tip: Get extra pillows at the back of the cabin in the overhead bins, where they are stored. Tried it now 3 times long-haul (not the short LHR_HEL flight) and simply not great even with extra cushions.. There is no way it is near first class. The food is not great, no dine on demand, and even BA is better. It's not for me... Note: No other airline is going for this odd seat!
I see where you're coming from on some points, but I guess it all boils down to personal preference. Personally, I'd choose the Finnair seat over BA's Club World offerings any day-it’s just my preference! 😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and have a fantastic weekend! 👍
