  • In Part 1 of this episode, we build the light harness as we prepare to install driving/fog lights on Cody's Aprilia Tuareg 660. After learning that the factory wiring harness alone without the lights was well over three hundred dollars, I decided it would be a good idea to build our own. We will tie them into the factory display and switching.
    Part 2 is here:

We bought 18ga. wire and wire loom locally, the lights through Alibaba and I already had butt connectors and heat shrink tubing, but all of that can also be found online.

Thank you! I'm definitely not a professional videographer, but like to be helpful and love to ride. Part 2 (relay harness) should be up this week and Part 3 (mount/install) shortly after that.

I had some supplies on hand, but even had we bought everything, I believe we would have easily completed both bikes for less than $100. I think our actual expenses were less than $40 each. Sure beats paying well over $300 for OEM or other options.

@@WyomingFamilyAdventures For sure! I looked it up and if I'm not mistaken, it looked like it was over $300 just for the OEM harness, ...and around $300 more for the lights, so over $600!?

What brand of lights are you using and where did you purhcase? I have a t660 also. Have you experienced the blinking fuel gauge dash indicator issue on your bikes? I have had the part on order for 60+ days and had my local dealer order the part for me after filming it so they could order the part and open the warranty ticket with Aprila, so if it's not in before my warranty expires in Octobe,r it will still be covered. Telling you this just as an FYI for you and other owners. The sender unit is actually made by KTM.

Great information to watch for. Thank you for sharing! We haven't had any real issues with our bikes (yet). Is yours a 2022 model? Our lights were bought from some random Chinese seller on Alibaba (was on a tight budget when we bought them), but I'll try to find and share a link in the description to some that I think are the same. Ours measured around 4 Ohms each if I remember correctly.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, my bike?is a 2022. There is a factory service bulletin from Apilia about the sender unit and an updated replacement part for that was originally installed.

@@richardsieben815 Thank you for the information! Both of ours are 2023 models. Hopefully, they worked the bugs out the first year. If not, I'm sure will find them eventually too.
