Very nice way of explaining doc. I have watched several videos but didn't completely understood about c peptide but your single video clarified my all doubts related to c peptide. Great way of explaining.
Hello Doc. I just did a C peptid test. It came a tad bellow the minimum 0.67. I did not realize I had to check my glucose before the test. I do intermitent fasting everyday, and I had the peptide test after a 15 hr fast. So I will do the test again after a regular breakfast with a glucose test one hour later. I am pre diabetic, with very good A1C around 5.7. I am strictly low carb mainly animal fat and white meat, also salad cabbige, and greens. No sugar ever. Normal BMI weight around 150 lbs and 5 foot eight. Thanks for posting I really like your podcast. Bernard.
I had a carb challenged C-peptide done recently, and I found it quite interesting but also frustrating that the clinician used the result from the challegend test as if it were interchangeable to the FASTING C-peptide test! To me it's obvious that I continue to SLOWLY loose insulin production, despite all my efforts.
Hello Dr …I am Type -2 patient and found your videos very interesting and informative . I am taking Metformin + Sitagliptin combination along with diet control and exercise. Please make a video on the pros and Cons of above medicines
Here c-peptide test expensive . Manage to do blood work on fasting insulin. My HOMA2 show that my %B out put is 48.8 and IR 0.45 FBS 5.3 A1C 5.7 and fasting insulin 3.4ulu/mL. Very informative video. Thank you for sharing. God blessed 🙏.
Thanks. You don't always need to do a C-peptide test. With enough experience you can know your beta cell function. If you have type 2 diabetes those numbers are not bad. Are you taking any medication or just managing with lifestyle intervention?
Hello, doctor. this video gives a lot of clarity. My C-peptine is 0.4 and glucose levels are 200+ average. Can i regenerate beta cells through lifestyle change or will i be dependent on artificial insulin for life?
Excellent explanation. What is is the ideal range for C peptide and insulin level. I think I am at 2.8 and insulin at 7. What does it say about my beta cell function?
My endocrinologist just told me that all my test were ok, that to not worry about having diabetes but I took a look at my lab sheets later on and saw a very low fasting insulin result. I will ask him tomorrow but what does low insulin lab result mean ?
I just saw my new lab test results on Quest. My A1C was 5.3. My fasting glood glucose was 70. My fasting insulin was 3.8. And my c--peptide was .61 and was flagged as 'low'. However, many of the health websites I've seen indicate that normal range is between .5 and 2.0. What are your thoughts on these numbers?
Hi. I was diagnosed with type 2 in March of this year, after going to the emergency room and finding out my glucose level was 750. After recently going to an endocrinologist, and asking about the c-peptide test, he orders labs for the c-peptide, gad, and ISLET ANTIGEN 2 (IA-2) ANTIBODY, SERUM. I've been humalog with meals, and lantus at bedtime since going to the hospital. My question is since I have already been taking insulin all this time, won't it affect the results of this test? He didn't give me any instructions, he just wrote the order and told me to have the labs done when I have time. Should I be concerned?
A most interesting presentation - thank you, Doctor. I have been on a Carnivore diet for 6 years. Got the results of my C-Peptide today; 225pmol = 0.225nmol = 0.675ng/mL. Would these numbers concern you, knowing that I ate no carbohydrates?
Hi Dr I been watch all of your videos , it very interested but I really don’t understand about hepatic insulin resistance on your video dawn phenomenon I hope one day you will release video about that thank you
Thanks for watching all my videos, that's encouraging. Insulin gives a lot of instructions to the liver when it comes to metabasin. So, if the liver is resistant to insulin (insulin attaches and the liver doesn't recognize it) it will not know what to do with glucose, or even produce and release extra glucose in the blood when it shouldn't. I will make a video to explain it.
My c-peptide is 0.7 also blood glucose (fasting) is low i.c ...74 no medicine (only strictly following lifestyle) also doing fasting n low carb.... l am confused😢 please help ....many thanks ❤
Hi dr Vladimir, great video! My situation is that my fasting C peptide is low 378 pmol/L ( ref val 270-1730) and fasting blood sugar and insulin are good - in the reference range ... I am overweight 12 kg ... I have not been diagnosed with any type of diabetes but 4 years ago I was diagnosed with hiperinsulinemia ... I do not understand how low c peptide correlates with overweight (is it way to diabetis 2) ?
I have been chasing severe symptoms for years and I have been unable to get help. I was hoping to get some advice, and I know you are not giving medical advice, but maybe some testing or others recommendations. I experience severe hypoglycemic type episodes with normal blood sugar levels. I eat Constantly, to try and keep the events down. Mostly protein meals, and I don't really eat sugars, junk food, etc. My cpeptide levels are high, 4.79 and every time they check me, I have blood in my urine, RBC I. Urine and my PH is always high, as well as very high inflammation markers. My neurologist says he thinks it is some form of tumor or cancer type issue that they can't find. I appreciate your thoughts on having high c-peptide with normal blood sugar but having severe hypoglycemic events and having to eat constantly. P.S. I am of normal weight and in fact, lose wait rapidly if I dont eat all day. Thank you.
Hello Doctor. My fasting c-peptide was .9 and insulin was 2.8 and fasting glucose was 91. I have been trying to lose weight on keto first the past 6 months and I can’t get the scale to budge. I self ordered these test because I suspect I have an issue here. I also was a gestational diabetic on insulin and my son has poly glandular dysfunction. So my first thought was that I have some sort of diabetic condition. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.
Hi, you need to check the reasons for your hair loss. If you go to a dermatology department, you should also let them know that you have type 1 diabetes. Because some types of hair loss can be caused by autoimmune conditions.
Doc, please is it possible for an individual to exhibit some symptoms of diabetes while in the prediabetic phase? Also is it possible for an individual to develop type 2 diabetes without going through the prediabetic phase

Excellent presentation on C-peptide. No one has dealt this with this many scenarios.

Thanks a lot. Soon I will have more time to make more videos. Blessings.

Do Bata-Cell grow back in the pancreas? Or is it that once they are gone you have type 1 diabetes for life?

When should we do this test I mean after how many minutes or hours of high carb meal to check the performance of c-peptide ( beta cell of pancreas )?
So nicely you have made understand it

Hello doc
Since I was diagnosed with T1D my hair growth has slowed down significantly
Please what can I do to bring things back to normal

@@Type-2-Diabetes okay doc
Thanks
Sir my fasting glucose level is 91 and c-peptide test result is 2.04ng/ml. It is ok ????

Im a carnivore. My cpeptide is 1.0, my insulin levels 2.8, a1c 6.1. What is going on with my prediabetis??
