    That video was OUTSTANDING!!! Diabetes is so tricky and can do so many things in the body. As soon as I think I have figured out one thing, I discover another thing I have to deal with. Every day is a Battle. Thank you Doctor for excellent information.

      Thanks. I glad you found it helpful. Yes, everyday is a battle, but it's a battle that we have the chance to win. There are many other conditions or diseases that are much worse. So, don't give up!

    Exceptional video! Should be mandatory view for patines and doctors. Thank you so much. Even my endocrinologist could not explain this even close. I wish you were my doctor! Appreciate your work to educate people, especially diabetics. Be well and safe🙏🏼

    Thank you for a well planned and detailed explanation of the dawn phenomenon. I’ve seen other videos on this subject and they were very short and lacked the most important issues. I look forward to more of you presentations. Again, I thank you.

      How can I get my blood sugar down it was 111 this morning? I'm going to fast today. I just started checking my blood sugar closely. I dont take meds. I'm going to get it down naturally

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  4 роки тому

      111, is it always like that or is it occasionally? Depending on you age, weight, etc., that could be a problem or not. If you've been checking everyday, did you make any progress?

    Dr Vladmir any hope you may have a Dr friend with a practice could help me with Glucophage and Liothyronine ? cannot die from "NO". Is your Cape Verde hometown close to Senegal? HOW did you learn to speak English so well? We pray DAILY for your health safety and long life and great wealth! YOU are a treasure.

      Yes, I have. But those medications are very common. I think most doctors will know how to use them where you live. Cape Verde is about 500km from Senegal. Thanks for the compliment. I started learning English in high school. And thanks for the prayers and words of encouragement. God bless you and your family as well.

    Very good video! I have type 2 diabetes for over a year know and have been watching Beat Diabetes. I went from A1C of 15 to 5.9. Hoping to be down to 5.6 or 5.7 by January. My dawn phenomenon usually is 130 to 140. I think it is because I take some meds in the morning. Is that too high?

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  Рік тому

      Hi Karen, that is a great achievement. Beat Diabetes is a channel that I recommend to patients with Type 2. 130 to 140 is a little high if you're young. If not, it isn't too bad. Thanks

      Thanks a lot. Yes, some studies have shown that Berberine might have a positive effect on glucose and lipid metabolism. But if you want to try it, you need to ask your doctor first (especially if you are taking other medications or have some other conditions that only you and your doctor know).

      @@Type-2-Diabetes Are you saying that the DP is a bad thing? After dinner it might be 90-125. In morning first reading is could be 101 then it creeps up to 116 after BM (sorry) then up after brushing teeth and shower. 157. It's frustrating! I drink water and it goes up more then eventually down.

    First off I had pancreas distal recession surgery 2 months ago. They took out about 2 thirds of the body of the pancreas. I was not diabetic before the surgery but now am showing high blood sugar levels. Could that be that my pancreas is no longer producing the insullin I need ?

    My mom has cirrhosis of the liver, she was diagnosed about 7 years ago. She's had diabetes for maybe 9 years now, only last year we were able to get her blood sugar under control through using a keto diet (and thanks to Dennis Pollack!). She will still get higher numbers in the morning, even if she stopped eating after dinner, sometimes as high as 160. If her liver has been damaged by the cirrhosis, is it possible that her body still makes the glucose to try and repair? I'd really like to hear your thoughts.

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  4 роки тому

      Yes, her liver is still making glucose. If our liver can't make glucose we can't live for long as any hypoglycemia would be devastating. Thanks

    I'm in the process (paperwork) for hopefully getting an insulin pump and needed to take a C-Peptide test, the result being 1.4 ng/mL. What does this figure mean, in layman's terms. I started on pills years ago and have been on MDI for about 4 yrs.

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  3 роки тому

    A question Doctor: if you have high blood sugar in the morning on an empty stomach (105) mg / dl is immediately to worry about it,so there is a problem already? Or could it be that it's a one time thing and not permanently? Thanks a lot!🙏🏻

    Is there a way to tell if your insulin resistance is at the cell level or the liver?

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  3 роки тому +2

      If you do a glucose tolerance test, the first 30min correlates more to the liver IR, and the last part correlates more with muscle IR. There are specific tests that can check it with precision but they are kind of invasive. And in general, no matter where the IR is, it's still at the cellular levels (Ex: your liver cells).

    Hello Dr Vladmir, i have been practising OMAD for at least 2 months on a low carb diet. So before meals, my blood before food is about 5, and after meals, about 5.6 so all good and my eating window is about 40 minutes simply because I am not hungry. When I wake up, my sugar is 7.1 and after an hour (despite not eating or drinking anything) is 8.1 and during the day until my meals, the blood sugar gradually comes down. From what I can see, I am still insulin resistant and that the healing will take time.
    From what I gather from your video , the glucose rise is not due to Insulin which is good I guess
    Any advise?

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  4 роки тому +2

      Yes that how how many people who experience the down phenomenon look like. There are two things to keep in mind: 1- If it is improving with time; 2- If it's affecting your A1c too much.
