The Jordan 6 black infrared is the first shoe I ever fell in love with. I wasn't into sneakers before that. I became a sneakers fanatic ever since its release in 1991 (more off than on but this shoe started it all). I missed out on it in 1991, 2000, 2010, 2014, and 2019. I am saving up and will buy 2 or 3 pairs I will rotate. Hopefully they will last me for many years. This kickstarted by consumerism of NBA related products for over 30 years. Even though I don't follow the NBA as much as I did in the 90s (I am 42 as of 2022) I still look at videos like these and remember fondly of simpler times of my life. One of which was coveting sneakers my parents wouldn't buy for me. I guess we desire things we can't have. Thanks for uploading this video. It made my day.
Your welcome I also turning 42 this year and these shoes bring back so many memories. I also do not watch the nba anymore, does not have the same feeling as it once brought .
The infrared VI were my very first Jordans (also first black sneaker, also first AIR sneaker)…got them for my 17th birthday in 91…and I was a sneakerhead ever since! Always will love these as my „firsts“! 😍 the 2000 were great but the peeling midsole drove me nuts! Love the 2019 version…so close to the OG! Love your passion and your content, man!!! 👍🏻😊
Not this colorway but Michael Jordan wore the 6 white infrared when he made that impressive triple clutch layup at Chicago Stadium against the Nets. I like that shoe for the layup alone. This layup beats the one he did against the Lakers in Game 2 of the 91 finals. The one when we hear Marv Albert say, "what a spectacular move by Michael Jordan." But since the context was the finals, that move is remembered way more than the one against the Nets since that game was a "meaningless" regular season game.
Yea growing up ,one of my favorite J’s were the black metallic 5’s. They were expensive back in the days and I knew my mom wasn’t going to get them for me. But with constant begging she finally gave in. So we went to the mall but at that time the 6’s came out. I asked for the 5’s but they stopped with that model. So my first Jordan’s were the infrared. I also remember the heel was like a smooth leather. And the material felt better than the most recent infrared 6’s i have. Still are cool shoes and bring a lot of memories
The varsity red is my favourite retro. I wish they would give it another retro. I really liked that colour red. I got my j6 in January of 92. And it was the same size as yours. I remember it being the last kids size before it goes into adult sizes so it was obviously a lot cheaper. £45-£50 I think they was. I got the huarache that day too, as it was my birthday so I spent all my money on two pair of shoes And the new England football tracksuit.

My favourite jordan move of all time
The comfort of the 2000s was something else, that flexible nubuck upper with that soft midsole.
Agreed
my first air jordan ever. but still love the 3, 4, 5s.
Just discovered your channel. Love hearing the history behind all these sneakers I saw when I was a kid 🤙

The Jordan 6 black infrared was worn by Martin Lawrence in Martin and Terry from True Colors.
