So,....Henk Poort :
Henk Poort is a Dutch singer born in 1956. Poort's major roles include Erik (the Phantom) in the Dutch version of The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in the first staging of the Dutch version of Les Misérables in the late 1990s. He also sang as one of the "17 Valjeans" at Les Misérables: The Dream Cast in Concert. His most recent role was Tevye in Anatevka.
Floor is a huge Henk Fan .

They have another duet together called dangerous games. If you want to react preferably the live version. Another song they do together during Floor's solo shows is sweet curse from her former band Revamp. Their chemistry is just amazing.
I saw a fan video of their performance of this song on a Dutch festival from last week, called Paaspop, just watch it and you'll see they do it live just as good, or even better than this studio version

Great Reaction! On that one part Henk put the grit in his voice for Floor. He knows that it is used in Rock/Metal singing and just threw that in there for her and she obviously loved it based on her reaction.
Nightwish "How's the Heart" acoustic version. You really get to hear Floor's voice so well without all the instruments and it's a beautiful song.

Floor has been a big fan of Henke Poort for most her life so this was a real treat for her.
Henk played the phantom in the original Dutch production and is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s favorite phantom. Check out his version of The Sound of Silence from this same TV show. He sang it for Floor and you can see in her eyes how much it meant to her.
Just love your reactions to the smallest details. This version is definitely the best one in my opinion. Floor and Henk have such beautiful on stage chemistry and they kill this song 💥💥💥💥

Actually, it was a Nightwish's (Tuomas Holopainen's) metal arrangement of this piece.
OMG, I have never heard any reactor mention Antonio Banderas and Sara Brightman before! I LOVED their performance, I thought that was so cool! Before seeing that, I had no idea that Antonio could sing and he was SO GOOD! I am so glad you liked that performance!
Henk had played Eric on stage something like 600 times. Reportedly, he was Andrew's favorite Phantom. Floor was something like twelve years old when she got to see Henk perform. This was one of the things that made Floor so interested in going into music (and Henk became a crush for young Floor). She was SO EXCITED to be on Beste Zangers with him, decades later!
This is probably my favourite version of TPOTO ever, Henk really is the Phantom, Floor really plays up to Henk and flirts a bit, there is a fun to it along with the sinister edge, Henk actually practiced his growl (it is trained out of a lot of classical singers as bad technique) just to surprise Floor, and by the look on her face he succeeded. Floor is just fantastic, and Henk is hard to beat, he is rated as one of the best actors to play the phantom

Lovely reaction Emma! Beste Zangers is Dutch TV show that has a very interesting format. Several singers from different genres are brought together and spend several days together (usually in a lovely environment like Ibiza). Each night a different singer is "on the couch" and all the other singers perform a song for them - usually a song that highlighted artist has performed or that has special meaning for them. There is no winner or prize - at the end of each evening, the highlighted artist chooses the performance that touched/moved them the most (not necessarily the best technical one). It's interesting to see them perform songs that are often outside their comfort zone or how they adapt the songs to fit their styles. The last evening is dedicated to duets (the artists get to ask one other artist to perform with them). Henk is an Opera/Musical Theater singer and had performed in the Dutch Phantom. Floor is a huge fan of his so she was thrilled he agreed. Another interesting fact is that before this show, Floor was not well known in her own Country of the Netherlands, since Metal is not that popular there. That all changed after her performances on this show - you should check them out (as well as some of the other performers who were also quite good).
I can highly recommend Henk Poort's duet with Emma Heesters, singing Vivo Per Lei. Perhaps the best performance of the entire show.

Floor Jansen "Oblivion"
This was Henk's first collaboration with Floor. They've performed together quite some times since on Floor's solo gigs. That "Phantom"duet was Floor's idea but to accept, Henk had one condition : he wanted to appear as guest in an upcoming Nighwish gig in the netherlands. Floor said "Yes" but because of Covid, this hasn't happened yet. But Nightwish has 2 gigs in Amsterdam on Nov 27th and 28th I think Henk is gonna join them on stage on one of these gigs, maybe even both...
He did 😀, it was great.

Before this show she wasn't very well known in Netherlands, check out Vilja Lied, her first performance...
All they knew about was that's she's singing in a metal band so they didn't know what to expect...

In my opinion Floors first performance at this dutch TV-Show, singing her rendition of „Vilja Lied“ (german for „Vilja song“, out of Franz Lehár’s Operetta „The Merry Widow“ [German: Die lustige Witwe]) performed by her in the original German language,
is actually even better especially because she is using less of her mixed voice and way more of her opera register.
And In my opinion she hits the notes in the „Vilja song“ performance even better and also with much more confidence by the high notes
Great. Floor released a single she wrote herself with het team recently. It's called Fire and is So great.
You need to check Henk performance from this show to the song Sound of Silence. Also Floor Shallow, Mother, Que se Siente ( hope to write it right :) ) You will love these performances,I'm sure

Floor just released her solo song: INVINCIBLE
Henk Poort = sound of silence
Another thing to note in addition to the song as well as the performance with Henk. This performance was more serendipitous than most think about. Nightwish actually covered Phantom of the Opera on their 2002 album, Century Child. You will see that more prominent if you react to Nightwish's cover of the song with their first singer, Tarja Turunen, at their End of an Era show in Finland, 2004. It actually is the arrangement you are hearing with the band that is the arrangement on the album. So it is serendipitous that the current singer of Nightwish is singing the Nightwish arrangement of the song with the person who not only played the Phantom on stage, but according to ALW, is THE Phantom (and ALW's favorite Phantom).
Finally, when Floor found out Henk would beon the show with her, She asked Henk if they could sing this together, and Henk agreed, on the condition that he would get to sing it on stage with Nightwish when they tour through the Netherlands... the shows for that are still on their schedule.
Actually, you should also go down the Beste Zangers hole with Floor, as during this season, Floor was all but completely unknown to her home country until the season of this show. You should see her "introduction" to her home country, with her first performance, singing Vilja Lied for Henk. And see if you can find the clip of her with the conversation both before and after her performance. It will say a LOT, especially if you find them for all of her performances on Beste Zangers.

She has so many awesome solos and more duets with Henk as well. They both take turns as special guest at their separate individual concerts, as the Beste Zangers brought their vocal chemistry together to perform more. If you react to any other songs from Beste Zangers, Floor does "Shallow" by herself and also duet Shallow, with the fellow wearing the Ramones shirt, ( Tim Akkerman). Great reaction! You will definitely enjoy another duet from Floor Jansen and Henk Poort from the Musical Jeckyll and Hyde, "Dangerous Game" (on Floor's UA-cam channel). Also, in her solo show last year in AFAS, Amsterdam Henk Poort joined Floor for a duet of the song "Sweet Curse" (a song she wrote in her previous band ReVamp). As a matter of fact, they performed all 3 duets in that show!!!
They did a better performance IMHO. the other day at Floors solo show @ Paaspop festival....

Floor heared that Henk would join Beste Zangers and she knew whats up in the Duet episode..Phantom of the Opera that was gonna happen..so she asked him, ok but i have one thing Henk replied, i wanna join on stage with Nightwish you are in Amsterdam during the tour! ...🤔 ok done deal she answered 😎🤣🤘
Still has to happen...coming November. He is still with her on tour 🥰💪and they became good friends.
Beste zangers just a lovely concept..put a groupe of singers with eachother and let them sing each other songs or songs that inspired them and not in a competition format..every week 1 singer sits on the main couch and has a conversation.
And the season ends in a duet episode!

2 little things...the first you are probably already aware, but Henk was actually the Phantom in ALW's show for like 20 years (the Dutch version I believe? if I recall that that correctly).
Second thing is that Floor as a kid went to see The Phatom of the Opera and saw Henk Poort and Henk became her childhood idol. Getting to sing with him here was a childhood dream come true for Floor...so her looks there were not really acting, she was living a childhood dream!

Hello Emma, Nightwish Army Italian Division reporting. Great reaction as always. If you are interested I would like to point out to you the version of Nightwish of this song which dates back to 2006 during the "End of an era" tour but in that version there is no Floor as lead vocals but the first singer and co-founder of Nightwish Tarja Turunen.
For another fantastic Floor duet I recommend to you the one with Simone Simons during the Epica's concert "Live retrospect show" and the song is "Sancta Terra". Have fun with Nightwish !!
you can also watch and react to this same song with the first vocalist of Nightwish- "tarja", you won't regret it, "Floor" is my favorite out of the 3 vocalists, but I always liked this song as "tarja" sings it, ( obviously it was made for her), the 3 vocalists that the band has had are spectacular (obviously spectacular audition of "floor")

I love your reactions but you re doing kinda same things. Why don't you go beyond the horizon? Try some of the legendary rock/metal bands like Black Sabbath, Deep purple, 'Scorpions, Metallica, Ac/Dc... The rock has so much to offer in both vocal and instrumental skills. I bet you'll get excited.
