Set up a geo fence boundary so it texts me if the van moves outside of it then i can click the link and live track it. Very worth having these days and Infact a requirement for my insurance.
I just think its wasted cash, you can buy many different types gps jammers on ebay for as little as £8 and some plugs straight into your cig lighter in vehicle with a 10metre range.. bye bye van. but then again you maybe lucky that the muppet that steals your van didnt think about it.
@@adamliz8172 there will always be ways to overcome detterants but the more obstacles we can fit to make it more difficult or slow them down can only help. Plus if people don’t know there is a tracker fitted the chances of them turning up with a gps jammer are not huge are they, so in my opinion still very much worth fitting and risking a £50 tracker working rather than not bothering and losing a £40,000 van that might just have been traceable.

I’ve just ordered one from Aldi on the strength of your recommendation. Great video - thanks. The battery life seems rubbish for real world use but it can be hard wired to the MH battery (presumably either leisure or van?), which is what I think you did. But isn’t that the most obvious place for a thief to look and just rip it out? Or is there some clever way of wiring it to one of the batteries from a hidden location, so that the terminals attach to points other than the MH batteries? Cheers.
Hi Mel. Thanks for another great video. Hope you don’t mind me asking, but can you tell me what type of table mount you have, as I’m having real trouble getting any kind of mounting systems.
Mel what is the lock on your side door of the sprinter . The key lock ? .. is it any good as im looking for a lock for mine as the remote one doesnt work on my side (sliding) door.. keep up the good videos 😎
There’s 2 ways depending on the age of the van If a keyless (bulb + nub) key There’s a device that an be secured magnetics under the van to capture your wireless code and open the van. Then they open the van, a little plate is superglued over your “keyhole” and copies the key the next time you insert it. They follow the gps imbedded in the magnetic code capture device and use both them to drive off
@@BigVanSmallWorld hi Mel 👋🏼 Long time subscriber to you Honestly nothing can stop the code copying but it does have to be done in relatively remote place as it copies every code in the area. So it will also copy the little Nissan micra parked behind you. And it only stores the last code What you want to look out for is your button not responding the first press. That unresponsive fist press is it copying and blocking your code Then it blocks your next press and new code storing it for later and replays your last code It can also be a flat battery in your key You can also reset the key by pressing “open” while it’s the ignition. Also the clone key needs to be in your key whole. So if the key doesn’t go in all the way and the day before you had a “stutter” issue when unlocking. Check the key, same as you should check the atm card reader for a fake plate
Honestly the use this to steel prestige cars and chop them up for parts as it’s easier to move 10,000 parts for a £50,000 car than to hid a £50000 motor home
Hi Mel, great video. Installed mine with 1p mobile and all works great. The app works but I can’t do geofencing as when I click it says no data although there is an option to set with coordinates. Is this the only way to do it?

Mel, Tracker will be hiding in the van but doing nowt until someone takes a fancy to what's mine. My thoughts were that if I put a sodaphone sim in it with a tenner on it same sim as my mobile, then it will last forever. Apart from texting back and forth occasionally for testing. 12p a text now and then would be better than £30 a year. Am I missing something ? Mel, can you recommend a cheapy vid - cam and editing software. Would love to put my build on UA-cam but budget is a big factor.
Hi Mel brilliant video just seen your latest video to mentioning the message you get when the shock sensor is triggered. Do you pay for these messages or is all that included with the £30 a year you mentioned. Thanks again
Hi I yes you get charged 1p a tex so you would have to open your doors 8 times a day every day for a year but don’t worry if you’re in and out all day you can switch the function of 👍
You can also look down from satellite images and see real time view of your tracker’s location. Ie. See who is there and wave at yourself if you choose to lol
If you go to 1 penny mobile website every thing you need to know is there I just registered with them and paid with my bank details was really straight forward 👍🤓👍
My one came with £1 credit all I had to do was activate it at the end of the month I’ll have pay £10 that last 130days or £30 for the year that’s it no more cost involved
Good morning I put another link to 1p mobile SIM card on Amazon it comes with pre paid £10 credit that will last for 130 days if you’re happy with it you can then top up for a year for only £30. It will take all sizes of SIM card thank you for using my link i really appreciate your encouragement and support 👍🤓👍
We have the “real” Tracker on our van where you pay a yearly subscription to them and the police find it, these SIM card ones are good though although I’m led to believe the thieves can jam the signal with some device?
I'm using an old phone as a tracking device and heard about the jamming devices thieves use...so I bought one to test, only about £10.00. THE JAMMER WORKS...scary...so I bought an ANTI JAMMING device.!!!! it too works...so now if someone used a Jamming device the anti jammer detects that and the fuel pump relay cuts off for a few seconds then back on again and keeps doing this for a couple of minutes, hopefully to allow the thieves to dump the van somewhere, then the fuel pump cuts off completely for a few minutes...
No monthly fee but yes you have to top up every year £30 or every 3 months £10 but that’s only if you use 1p mobile I put links in the description to there SIM card so you can check it out and see what’s what 👍
Hi Mel Have you found that this tracker sometimes puts your starting point at somewhere else? Or that the tracker seems to go on its own journey sometimes? Ours is very accurate when it's parked outside the house - to within a few meters - but then it goes a bit cranky and says we've gone places we haven't, usually cross country! LOL Hope you're feeling better, by the way!
Hi Mel, Great video. Apologies if you've answered this elsewhere but please could you confirm how much you've had to top up l the SIM since you've installed it? I was going to try using an old mobile phone as tracker but it's going through the PAYG top up very quickly. Hoping this is more frugal 😅
That looks like the gadget to have. One thing though.., how far do you reckon one can go with the tracker, and the SIM card you have in it, before you are out of reach for the tracker and/or SIM card. I'm thinking along the lines of it's use while driving around in Europe (if that will ever be poss again)!!!
Me again lol. Here's an interesting thought Mel. A factory built camper is worth what the book price says.. year, model etc and that's what the insurance company will work with when paying out. Now, say you buy a van, convert it yourself, it ends up a van with windows; will the insurance only pay out what it's worth as a van but not a camper. The book price of a van is way cheaper than the book price off same van but fitted out as a camper. So all your hard work isn't covered or is it, I don't know myself that's why I'm asking you as you might know. 👍
I’m sorry I had to remove your last comment as I don’t think it’s good to promote such products I do hope you understand as for insurance my van is insured as a van so yes should the worst happen I’ll lose everything that’s why I want it classified as a camper so I can get proper insurance with an agreed value thanks for taking the time to comment really appreciated 👍🤓👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld That's fine Mel no prob's. I only brought it up because another commenter mentioned these and you replied saying "Yes that's because the subscibe company say that to frighten you...." Some people use them so their partners can't hide a phone in their boot and know where they are, that's why I never purchased a tracker Mel, After a little research. Some Good trackers work on multiple channels to help prevent this but you'll pay for those. Anyway, no worries mate 🙂👍

That’s absolutely rite and yes I can’t fault it it’s working really well 👍😊👍
I’ve just ordered one from Aldi on the strength of your recommendation. Cheers.
Can't beat a cut out switch or two concealed or disguised for example the car won't start unless the sun visor is down lol
Sounds like a good idea but I wouldn’t tell anyone now would I 😂
Hi Mel. Thanks for another great video. Hope you don’t mind me asking, but can you tell me what type of table mount you have, as I’m having real trouble getting any kind of mounting systems.
Sure thing buddy, my table is this one. hope it helps

Was the 1p mobile sim that you used PAYG or the 12 month £30 sim.
Yes that’s rite 1p mobile it’s £30 last all year so far no issues at all 👍😊👍
Mel what is the lock on your side door of the sprinter . The key lock ? .. is it any good as im looking for a lock for mine as the remote one doesnt work on my side (sliding) door.. keep up the good videos 😎
they are brilliant ebay.us/9akK9d
There’s 2 ways depending on the age of the van
If a keyless (bulb + nub) key
There’s a device that an be secured magnetics under the van to capture your wireless code and open the van. Then they open the van, a little plate is superglued over your “keyhole” and copies the key the next time you insert it.
They follow the gps imbedded in the magnetic code capture device and use both them to drive off
Oh my god is there nothing we can do to stop this from happening?
@@BigVanSmallWorld hi Mel 👋🏼
Long time subscriber to you
Honestly nothing can stop the code copying but it does have to be done in relatively remote place as it copies every code in the area. So it will also copy the little Nissan micra parked behind you. And it only stores the last code
What you want to look out for is your button not responding the first press.
That unresponsive fist press is it copying and blocking your code
Then it blocks your next press and new code storing it for later and replays your last code
It can also be a flat battery in your key
You can also reset the key by pressing “open” while it’s the ignition.
Do you have a kill switch too? I’d love to know how you’ve done it. Some say just switch, others say a relay switch
No I don’t have one mate 👍🤓👍
Hi Mel, great video. Installed mine with 1p mobile and all works great. The app works but I can’t do geofencing as when I click it says no data although there is an option to set with coordinates. Is this the only way to do it?
Good morning thank you for the positive feedback really appreciated I haven’t tried to setup geofencing sorry 😞
@@BigVanSmallWorld Thanks for a quick response Mel. Have a great day!
does it work with any sim, for example a tesco one?
Mostly if you click on the link in my Amazon store you will find all the technical info you need 👍
Can you obtain location history on this tracker? Thanks.
Yes you can
@@BigVanSmallWorld Thanks, I've just installed it in my car and connected it to my battery, the location of the vehicle shows up fine no problem, but I can't work out for the life of me how to retrieve location history. Any tips? Once again mate thank you 😊 ( subscribed)
Hi Mel, great video 👍 again,do you know what the maximum distance this tracking will cover please.
Cheers 🐧🐧
It works off GPS so it’s global it will work wherever there a mobile or internet signal 👍🤓👍
Hi Mel can you make another video showing where you fitted it 😅🤣😂
Hahaha there’s always one just had to be you 👍😂👍
Cheers for the compliment
Thank you for making me smile 😀
yay .... looking like a plan... :)
Thank you 😊
Hi Mel, is it free to operate the tracker or are you charged
If you use the app it’s free 👍
Hi Mel brilliant video just seen your latest video to mentioning the message you get when the shock sensor is triggered. Do you pay for these messages or is all that included with the £30 a year you mentioned.
Thanks again
Hi I yes you get charged 1p a tex so you would have to open your doors 8 times a day every day for a year but don’t worry if you’re in and out all day you can switch the function of 👍
You can also look down from satellite images and see real time view of your tracker’s location. Ie. See who is there and wave at yourself if you choose to lol
Hi Mel, very interesting and detailed video. Now you have used this device for a while now would you still recommend it?
Absolutely brilliant and yes definitely recommend it I’m still using it and I’d use it in future vans too 👍
One bloke by the name by the name of Hanns Aldi said they were so good he bought 2 of them 😜
Haha 😂
Great vid mell on my shopping list know.
Thank you buddy 🤓👍
How do you top up the sim card
If you go to 1 penny mobile website every thing you need to know is there I just registered with them and paid with my bank details was really straight forward 👍🤓👍
Hi Mel, how does the SIM card work ie how much does it cost to run? Is it easy to top up? 👍🏼 thanks 🙏
My one came with £1 credit all I had to do was activate it at the end of the month I’ll have pay £10 that last 130days or £30 for the year that’s it no more cost involved
Hi ya, the one I ordered via your Link apparently doesn't come with a SIM card. Does it take a Standard type of SIM or one of these smaller ones?? :-)
Yes that’s what the subscribe company say to frighten you to go with them 👍
I'm using an old phone as a tracking device and heard about the jamming devices thieves use...so I bought one to test, only about £10.00.
How about a airtag frpm apple?
Hi Mel. Is there a monthly fee or money needs to be put on the card?
No monthly fee but yes you have to top up every year £30 or every 3 months £10 but that’s only if you use 1p mobile I put links in the description to there SIM card so you can check it out and see what’s what 👍
Hi Mel
Have you found that this tracker sometimes puts your starting point at somewhere else? Or that the tracker seems to go on its own journey sometimes?
Ours is very accurate when it's parked outside the house - to within a few meters - but then it goes a bit cranky and says we've gone places we haven't, usually cross country! LOL
Hope you're feeling better, by the way!
Yes it’s not good at tracing your trips but spot on at placing where it is very strange indeed 😂👍
Hi there, which app are you using please? TK Star gps isn't compatible with newer phones and the Winnes gps tracker app keeps crashing 😞
hi Emma i use TKSTARGPS on my i phone x hope this helps
@Mel's Big Van Small World it's not compatible with my phone apparently, it works on older models it said. Thanks anyway 😊
I use 1p mobile it’s £30 for the year
@@BigVanSmallWorld cheers, thanks for the info. 👍
Hi with the 1p mobile it’s us all over Europe no worries at all and yes fingers crossed we can get out of the uk again soon 👍
Thanks for this Mel. Where did you get your 1p SIM please?
Ignore my question, just seen the link 👍😊
I put link in the description for your convenience 👍🤓👍
Ops I didn’t see the ignore message 😂👍
I only brought it up because another commenter mentioned these and you replied saying "Yes that's because the subscibe company say that to frighten you...." So because of this I thought it was fine to mention it again. They're well known devices ( common knowledge to many ) . Some people use them so their partners can't hide a phone in their boot and know where they are, that's why I never purchased a tracker Mel, After a little research. Some Good trackers work on multiple channels to help prevent this but you'll pay for those.
Anyway, no worries mate 🙂👍
Hi Mel, I have purchased a street wise tracker , did u put yr own SIM card in or did u use the SIM card supplied? The reason I’m asking did u have to contact street wise to say u had used another SIM card , cheers
I put the one penny SIM card in mine really simple to setup
Hi Mel , it was me re-pauled who tried to call u , I have a sim card at home linked to out gas elec and WiFi so I’m wondering if I can register that sim with them , I’ve ordered one tracker so I’m sure it will have some info in there if not I’ll call them , cheers
Great video thanks. Is there a monthly fee for the sim they provide.
No monthly fee 👍🤓👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld
Mel. Just bought one. So did yours come with a sim card?
Does your mobile phone have to have the same 1p mobile SIM in?
No just the app
Do you have to pay a subscription /SIM card fee? for the tracker?
No subscription fee but you do need to top up a minimum of £30 a year to keep the sim activated 👍🤓👍
PS that’s 1p mobile sim I don’t know about other networks
Hi Mel, did you top this tracker up before the install you did on the video or use the £1 credit ? Cheers bud
I’m still using the £1 credit that it cam with don’t need to top up until 28th 👍🤓👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld I get invalid command every time I send a text . cant get past the first stage. I'm sending it back tomorrow . Hopefully I have got a Dodgey one. Cant see there being any left though for a replacement unfortunately
Follow the instructions to the letter including spacing and caps
@@BigVanSmallWorld no way Mel. I think you may have just fixed it. silly me was putting an _ . Instead of a space 😂😂 cheers mate
Looks good. If the unit is wired to permanent live will it not drain your battery?
I doubt it it’s only 5.5v plus it’s got it’s own battery so once it’s charged up the drain will be extremely small
Mel do you have to put credit on the sim card or is it free to use once you have purchased the tracker.
Mine came with credit on it but you need to top it up once a year to keep it active £30 not bad 👍🤓👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld cheers Mel will see if there is any left in my local store.
Hi Mel, do you have to pay a monthly subscription ?. Great Vlog as usual. Thanks.
No there’s no monthly fee although you do need to pay to activate the sim but that’s only £30 a year 👍🤓👍
Nice idea, how much credit does it use ?
I’m sure I mention that in the video 30 a year
Mel, I might get one of these but I'd be interested to know more about the other one you fitted that could remotely kill the engine with a text. Was it any good and what make? Great video as usual, cheers.
I have tried to find another one but it looks like they don’t make them anymore
@@BigVanSmallWorld thanks foranswering, looks like you keep crazy hours too, judging what time you answered! 😜
Yep 👍
How much is the sim over the year can you explain in detail
i use 1p mobil its £30 a year
