    Thanks for the video. I don't have issues with a kneeling start but this sitting start seems much more comfortable and probably even faster. Tests on my house floor show I should be able to do it but the real tests will come when I manage to catch the next session. Great inovation 👏

    As an old, died in the wool windsurfer this starting technique makes perfect sense. It is a sort of waterstart for foil boards using the power of the wing to aid a stand up without kneeling on the board.
    Instructors need to see this as an advanced starting method to teach.

    Another Great Video. Some non-Windsurfers and Wingers (without harness)may not understand what is "The harness hook problem". The hook on the harness will get in the way as you are trying to pull yourself up on the board. It can also damage your board. Keep the Videos coming!

    outstanding video and very helpful. it is inspiring to hear for example that you were kneeling on your board quite a lot because that's the stage I'm at I can't even stand up yet. I'm taking the baby steps. The exercises the leg strengthening and the balance exercises. I'm going to follow your lead on this. What I see you doing here is exactly what I need to learn how to do. Thank you.

    Thanks for this! I got super lucky because I just switched to a new board that is +15L my weight and went out in 20+ Knots with strong swell in the bay of San Francisco. I could no longer do the kneel approach that worked with my +30L board. I was constantly getting knocked off the board before I could get the wing in the air. Then I remembered the video! My brain said, "do that!" Worked great! Thanks again for the great tip.

    Great tutorial. I have an inflatable foil board so the harness hook is in it's way but board damage in not an issue for me.
    What I really like about the idea that sitting is easier balance in choppy ocean conditions. I find climbing on my board and balancing on my knees very exhausting. Although I'm more of a heavy weight and don't know if I can come up on my feet from the sitting position, the tip leaning back would be very helpful in this.
    I never thought about it until now that flipping the wing will also be easier by sitting on the board than on your knees.
    Looking forward to to try this all in my next session, waiting for some wind in Holland.

    Hi, nice video! I have a question... Did You ever try to ride a 160 twintip with a handle Wing? With your experience, do you think it is possible to ride a lightwind twintip kiteboard powered by a wing? What should be the intensity of the wind necessary to achieve it? Thank you in avance for Your reply.

    • @alancadizwingfoilinginstru2926
      @alancadizwingfoilinginstru2926  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it is possible. I rode my old directional kite board in about 40 knots of wind. It takes a lot of wind but it is possible. But why? It was hard, intense pounding and really not fun. Use a foil as soon as you can get one. You will like it!

      Beginner sailor equals big board. 140l is a good size to learn on but you will out grow it. I think 70L would be a good size for your 140lbs. but not until you are skilled. Start big and work your way down to a small board. Going straight to a small board will slow your progress.
