Before you get a whisk broom try a two or 3 inch soft bristled paintbrush. I find it works much better.

I second that! i use a whisk broom in the snow, and a paint brush in the dirt. we set allot in snow here in northrn canada, and the paint brush bristles just aren't stiff enough to move crusty snow around, but are to stiff to move that soft dirt with out flicking it all over the place.

Beautiful color on the coyote, reminds me of some of the darker colors I’ve seen on coy dogs - coyote/dog mix. Nice explanation on the drowning traps too.

Funny...we are in separate worlds as far as trapping. Im in Se Colorado. High and dry. Outlawed in 2000. My homemade trapping hammer is an exact copy of yours! That was fourty years ago! My trapping consisted of coyotes for the most part. I always looked for funnel areas as well...when they are there, it was always worthy of two sets. A lot of dirthole, and trail sets, then modifications thereof. Get as many as you could in the ground, as soon as pelts were prime! Outlawed or not., Im gonna take out some beaver that taking way to many trees down along my creek!
Id keep that dark dog for my wall!

Do you actually put any castor on those castor mounds? I've watched quite a few of your vids where you are using them and you never show using any! If you aren't, start doing it and your catches will improve dramatically! I know as 50 years ago when I first started trapping Beaver, that's what I was doing! Beautiful silver/black Coyote! I'd love to have one that color for a long drape hat for my Mountain Man hat! If he's got fairly long hair, I'd pay market or a bit above! If you
    re interested PM me!
Best of luck and Merry Christmas!!!
