I second that! i use a whisk broom in the snow, and a paint brush in the dirt. we set allot in snow here in northrn canada, and the paint brush bristles just aren't stiff enough to move crusty snow around, but are to stiff to move that soft dirt with out flicking it all over the place.
Beautiful color on the coyote, reminds me of some of the darker colors I’ve seen on coy dogs - coyote/dog mix. Nice explanation on the drowning traps too.
Funny...we are in separate worlds as far as trapping. Im in Se Colorado. High and dry. Outlawed in 2000. My homemade trapping hammer is an exact copy of yours! That was fourty years ago! My trapping consisted of coyotes for the most part. I always looked for funnel areas as well...when they are there, it was always worthy of two sets. A lot of dirthole, and trail sets, then modifications thereof. Get as many as you could in the ground, as soon as pelts were prime! Outlawed or not., Im gonna take out some beaver that taking way to many trees down along my creek! Id keep that dark dog for my wall!
Beautiful looking coyote !! Great job there J. That coyote would be getting mounted but if it's not in the budget definitely get it tanned. I sure like those step-down sets. Once they committed on going down there's no going back. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍... I still got that bait for you
That sure was a pretty color on coyote good looking sets TJ that piece of fur in the hole really helps I think like these set making videos im always learning from other people’s sets it maybe just a small trick pick up on but it helps
I would turn the hind claws and all and put it on the wall. Second choice would be to have it stuffed. Put it in your living room looking out the window.
Another awesome video . That yote I would keep out of all the dogs we have takin and been around I have never seen one with that much color and that dark . Very unique dog . Tan it .
That about the nice color coyote I ever saw, I saw blacks, pale yellow and gray, but never that color, he looked about like a big dog. I like your set too.
I’m interested in the rest of the process not just going up to them and seeing what u got , so u have a detail on how to set traps of all kinds and what u do with ur guts and bones and meat
Now thats pretty yote for sure I've seen black one and a few reds but not like that one it must have been a male yote hopefully you'll catch some yotes for that guy its not to far from his house where the yotes are traveling thanks for letting us tag along on the trap line can't wait to see how the farm pays off on the yotes stay warm my friend 👍
Btw, did you know coyotes love watermelon? It’s not just deer and raccoons and possums. Coyotes raid watermelon patches too. They’ll eat like 10 of them a night.
Most Trappers: "I'm gonna put in a dive stick to make them dive into that coni." Trapper J: "I'm gonna put in a dive TREE to make them dive into that coni"
Interesting coyote you caught...I think that either the guard hair was extra long... or the fur a bit on the short side.,. None the less nice to look at... why don't you wear gauntlets to protect your hands?
id sell that yote to a taxidermist for wayyyyy to much $$$ haha not sure what prices are in the states but taxidermists will pay an arm and a leg for unique color phases of fur bearers up here in canada! ive seen dark yotes like that go for $300-$400 on fb! amazing catch! nice to see those dukes 550 putting a hurting on them pet killers! im gonna order a dozen for my next season to try out for myself.
Holy beautiful coyote brother nice man. I do believe I would keep that one wow. Another good show. Waking up to Dwayne and you posted start to a good morning. 👊💀👍🍻🇺🇸🍻
Do you actually put any castor on those castor mounds? I've watched quite a few of your vids where you are using them and you never show using any! If you aren't, start doing it and your catches will improve dramatically! I know as 50 years ago when I first started trapping Beaver, that's what I was doing! Beautiful silver/black Coyote! I'd love to have one that color for a long drape hat for my Mountain Man hat! If he's got fairly long hair, I'd pay market or a bit above! If you re interested PM me! Best of luck and Merry Christmas!!!
Before you get a whisk broom try a two or 3 inch soft bristled paintbrush. I find it works much better.
I like that awesome tip bud

@@TrapperJOutdoors :: Shhhhh that is a secret.
try a wall paper broom works way better than any thing else ... just my opinion
I would tan or mount that yote, I've never seen one that color, nice. Great video.
I tripped out when I seen what that coyote looked like ITS SO BEAUTIFUL
"viewer discretion advised we kill shit here" gotta be the best intro on youtube lol

@@TrapperJOutdoors its the best intro
As morbid as it sounds I want to see you shoot the live ones
Heck, yea, that is one beautiful coyote! Definitely a keeper for the wall or mount. Great video too explaining your drowning set up.
The coyote looked like some of our timber wolves we have here in Northwestern Ontario! Awesome color
That is a beautiful Coyote! I'd love to have a fur hat made out of that beauty!!
That coyote looked like a black wolf. Gorgeous 😍
As a truck driver I drive through your area once or twice a month and i see dead coyotes on the interstate every time.
Beautiful color on the coyote, reminds me of some of the darker colors I’ve seen on coy dogs - coyote/dog mix. Nice explanation on the drowning traps too.
Nice yote!! First coyote I every caught was black in a dirt hole too. I have only caught a few black ones in my life. Great job!!
I learn all of my trapping skills from you love the vid hope you keep doing it

He had a nice temperament too
That looks like a Westcoast coyote. Used to see dark ones like that alot in San Diego California. I would definitely keep that fur if it was me.
Be cool to release the ones with the nest coat colours to keep the mutation going in the population
I love the intro my guy, fuck yes🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅
Teag Branaman America 💪🤜🤛
That's the darkest coyote I have ever seen!! We have some with black backs and fades down the sides

Awesome Coyote, that’s a Keeper
We have a lot of dark colored coyote in Mississippi I’ve even seen them multiple colors. With white and black on them.
That yote is beautiful, I would tan that one and make something myself from it.

I never seen such a dark and beautiful coyote and he’s bigger then what we have
Awesome looking coyote. Got one similar a couple years ago but instead of blackish mine was reddish. Nice to catch something different. Great job.
Beautiful Coyote for sure🦊
I would turn the hind claws and all and put it on the wall. Second choice would be to have it stuffed. Put it in your living room looking out the window.
That coyote will look good hanging in the new fur shed.
To prevent traps from freezing you can put salt under the traps then put your dirt ontop
Another awesome video . That yote I would keep out of all the dogs we have takin and been around I have never seen one with that much color and that dark . Very unique dog . Tan it .
That is one beautiful coyote. I would love to catch one that color. Can't wait to see what you catch in those dirtholes brother.

Charlie Maschek Of Hoosier Trapper is a friend. He makes great lures and scents.
He is a great guy!

That's the coolest coyote I've ever seen!
I could watch this all day!!
You are a lot more quiet than flair that’s probably one of the many reasons why you have more success 😂
IRISHfn VIKING who cares?
Wolf oh I wasn’t trying to talk shit or anything I honestly don’t even know why I commented I was way tired
