Transformation of khadon also Transforms the caster in fable top but with that ca has shown that they dont implement this Kind of spell
Because of that i think the spell will just Summon a frost fiend
didn't a spell from 'Lore of the Wild' (beastmen) do the same thing... 'Savage Dominion' i think was it's name.
Aaron Selig nah that one always just summoned a gribbly from the woods, it's more about dominating a monster than becoming one.
Vigour loss for the persistent attribute during casting would be interesting. You Cali boys maybe don't know how hard it is to trudge through snow ❄. LOL
Snow?? That stuff they put syrup on?
That would be cool, but potentially way too powerful.
That's a funny statement since we have massive mountain range almost going from top to bottom where it snows.
DRFESTERPUS69 huh good to know thanks
Oh, maybe game 3 will have weather effect, like blood bowl :p Nice perfect blood bowl weather.
I totally want more ice magic and effects in the game. It's really just Norsca that can get some semblance of it, that isn't just a one off unit (like the Hyrda RoR).
The lore attribute should surely be the opposite of the lore of shadows, giving a speed decrease to all enemy units map wide?
Patrick Ellis my thoughts exactly
Patrick Ellis That or an armour sunder. Ice making the metal brittle or something. Either would help them fight off the heavily armoured and slowish Choas which is their primary foe.
Devon Archer although realistically at any temperature that would have a tangible effect on the integrity of a suit of armour the man inside would have died off quite a significant time ago.
I think a speed debuff, since reducing armour is a lore of metal thing really (I know it's increased AP damage but it amounts to the same thing) whereas decreasing speed is consistent with other frost related abilities in the game...
I think a slow would be an obvious lore attribute. Shadow gives a map wide speed so it makes sense. Maybe like map wide enemy -15% speed
There are definitely many ways you could go about the Lore Attribute. Starting by making it mapwide or centered around the caster.
-One possibility is just going the opposite of Lore of Shadows' "Smoke & Mirrors", and apply a slowing effect to all enemy units, with varying duration and intensity, as needed.
-I like your brittle idea, and another way that could be done is that the cold is making you so sluggish that is lowers enemy unit's melee attack and defense. Something similar to the Blizzard Aura of Frostheart Phoenix.
Setting that aside, I just want to say how much I love the idea of a shapeshifting spell like Form of the Frostfiend.
"nothing that changes the caster"
*Transformation of Kadon*
in total war warhammer, bub ;)
They did ToK that way because I don't think the engine is capable of supporting units transforming this way. Morghur's summon is the closest thing in TW and under the hood it's a direct damage spell that simultaneously summons a unit.
Could you and Turin possibly do a 40k tabletop battle together?
Yes, please do
We are! :)
i imagine the lore attribute would just be a map wide slow for your enemies
Darko Mihajlovski Just what i was thinking as well! It would fit and be so usefull.
Transformation of Kadon for the Amber magic originally turned the caster into a manticore. In total war, it became a summon.
correct!! :D
My opinion on the spells is:
-Shardstorm I think could work very well as a frag granade that will stay in the location it lands and will constantly deal damage to anything nearby alongside frostbite. It works very well with the tactic theme of Kislev where units have a huge damage potencial, just it's hard to actually take adavantage of it. Shardstorm would rely on locking enemy units in place for it to be exploited while it's a dps support for a caught kossar frontline
-I think Freezing Blast would work well as a terrain modyfier that slows down enemies and applies Frostbite to a huge swath of land where your units are almost unaffected. Like the ground is covered in ice and only kislevites were prepared for that. It might also deal minor damage, stop charges and make enemy units be thrown back when casted onto some units.
-Frostfiend- considering we don't know how the thing looks like, I think it's gonna be a minor transformation of the caster that buffs combat stats, resistances, creates a cloud of frostbite around the caster and maybe makes her faster too.
-Invocation of the Ice Storm: Vorex spell with a huge radious, applies a long duration effect that forbids shooting and deals a lot of morale damage. Works well into the kislev strategy, damage from the vortex already stopps units from firing and frostbite sticks to them too.
-Midwinters Kiss, nothing to add
-Glacial Barrier- i fesl the barrier most used application would be casting it inside the enemy unit to throw models around as it grows out of the ground.
I would kind of like if you could just (temporily) create difficuld terrain with the freezing blast, for stuff like breaking up a marching frontline. Maybe add a small amount of damage to the targeted area.
A small correction for you: There is another turn into a monster spell, be it only in the tabletop. Transformation of Kardon actually turns you caster either into a horn dragon, black hydra or feral manticor on the lower level. If find it kind of sad that they changed the spell from a cool transformation into a boring summon ability. The tabletop version offers so much more (and harder) decision making.
For the Lore as a whole If have to say, control abilities seem to be exactly the right spot for it.
Transformation of khadon from lore of beasts is a transformation for a beast caster into a monster
Ice Storm:
I was thinking this spell could increase the reload time. Possibly with higher leadership units being effected less, but probably not.
Glacial Barrier:
In MTG, walls are creatures from a game mechanics standpoint. I think the same thing could be done in TWIII. You some summon a wall looking creature that is so heavy it can't be moved. The creature has no attack stats or attack animation. No speed stat or walking animation either. Walls don't route, so it should either crumble like undead or ironically have "unbreakable". Considering how on table top units can break through the wall, Glacial Barrier should absolutely have a health pool. Overcast possibilities are any combination of the following: Bigger health pool, longer summon duration, longer casting distance, bigger unit model, has a cold aura that debuffs nearby enemies.
I'd love to see a video of all the missing units from already added armies that you'd love to see added to the game.
i could dance around that! :D
ItalianSpartacus If you did do it could you possibly show pictures of the models or art of the units so we can see what they look like as well.
I personally want 5 highly requested monsters that I've seen around on reddit.
1. Jabberwocky - Beastmen
2. Jabberslythe - Beastmen
3. Ghorgon - Beastmen
4. Slaughterbrute - WoC
5. Mutalith Vortex Beast - WoC
I forgot about Ice Magic. I remember the wizard you could pick in Dark Omen
It would be a lot of work but I feel like since there's so little maps with water on them have it so all maps that the army goes to all water is frozen over completely and gives debuff to the enemy's army and not yours.
Could be really nasty if the "brittle" thing you mentioned was armor sundering (on the logic that it's so cold that it cracks metal armor apart).
Interesting stuff here, going to be a smidge disappointed if we don’t see them in WH3.
They have to be! How could you leave out a whole lore of magic and the main faction of Men that fight Chaos in a chaos-centric game?
Maybe after you cast a spell it gives your units frostbite for some time?
Also the frostfiend should have the frostbite effect on units around it.
Freezing blast could be similar to chill wind with more damage
Glacial barrier could be devastating if you used it to cut off enemy units from reinforcements and then overpower them.
U are such an amazing UA-camr your one of my very favourites ❤️
Hey Thank you!!! :)
Kislev units on top of Mammoths would be cool
Did you her somthing from the next Dlc? I suspect we will only get kislev in game 3 (because of their strating position, in the way of the chaos invasjon) but I would still love to get them in game 2. For spells, you have the frezze effect that norsca have. you also have the chillwind of dark magic. I would make the spells.
1 isecal (Magic missile like amber missile)
2 map slow or summoning blizzard (missile resistance)
3 frezze blast (cone, damage and slow)
4 frost bite (reduce armour and increase damge against)
5 Ice armour (armour and/or damg resience)
6 sub zero (vortex slow and damage)
7 Ice construct ( a bit of frozen, it is hard to let it go. Could be a unmove bale wall)
turning into frost hag, should be a skill.
For invocation of the ice storm maybe an aoe range reduction. Something significant like 75%. That would take high elf archers from 180 down to 45. Great way to close the distance safely or save a Lord that's getting snipped.
For balance make the normal cast single Target and the overcast aoe.
Kislev video? Where is my ice cream?
I really like how you break up all things kislev in different videos. Think it's better than one big video.
Love your lore videos
thank you very much !! :D
Saw all of them and i need way more. Keep the good work going buddy :)
u forgot about transformation of khadon
damn I wanted to play as Estalia, Tilea or the Border Princes!!!!
Hoping on Kislev, keep em coming spartacus
The effect could be a small armour sunder for a short time, like -15 or -20 armour.
Hey, I have a question. I was curious. If you compare all “tier 2” monsters, like Gryphons, Manticores, Terrorgheists, Chimeras, Great eagles , Wyverns, if all those would fight in a one v one, who do you think will come on top? I expect the Gryphon to be the fastest and smartest, While the Manticore the most ferocious. And none of them could kill a sun dragon, right? If it’s a basic Gryphon or Manticore against a Basic Sun Dragon.
I asked this cause since I found out about Warhammer I was curious if here the empire can manage to win. By empire I mean that they have Gryphons, Greenskinz have Wyverns, Chaos has Manticores etc
Frost fiends being in the roster, or at least summon for defensive battles on the campaign map could be interesting.
Vargulfs are supposed to be able to glide correct? I know there are several units that supposed to be able to fly but can't.
Armour sundered for x seconds for a cast attribute to represent the enemy armour becoming frozen and breaking?
Does this video mean that the magic lore videos for the Chaos Dwarfs, Ogre Kingdoms and Daemons of Chaos are soon to come or are their army video going to be first?
the ogre kingdoms one is already up! but yes, we'll see the rest! the army videos will come closer to game launch
If you look at the lore as a whole, the lore of ice magic seems like a highly specialize and dogmatist version of lore of heavens. Think about it, lore of heavens of has as ice based spell if you look at the extended spell list (not the just and tabletop or total war listing).
What do you think about Fredrick Von Tarnus being a new Empire lord choice, spartacus?
mehh i think i'd rather see Volans than Tarnus! ;)
I CANT FUCKING WAIT!
Can we see a Kislev and Orge kingdom army vid
Nice job.
Please make a lore of sand video too
Hey Italian, since it's not likely that CA would let Kislev have only one lore of magic, what do you think they might have as alternates to Ice?
Beasts?
yay! ty!
if implemented, best mod ever created would be the re name of Shardstorm to Shartstorm. i Lol'd hard.
No lore of hags? :(
Is there a particular reason why there's been such a focus on Kislev recently? Is there any news?
I think it's just because they're one of the few big factions that isn't in the game yet. Kislev, Dawi Zharr, Demons of Chaos, and Ogre Kingdoms are the only ones that are still missing so everyone's expecting to get them in game three.
Mcpheery You mean they are the ones that are located around the expected game 3 map. There are still races that could go on the Vortex map.
Mcpheery don't forget the southern realms/dogs of war
Right, my point was that if we exclude the smaller races and the ones that are likely to get a DLC in game two (Southern Realms fits here), there's only so much that can go into game three without CA creating a roster from scratch for Ind and Cathay.
Mcpheery I'd love to see CA make up some new rosters. Especially since GW have abandoned this world, it's not like they'll have creative differences.
Sparty when is the next brettiona stream
Also really good vid I always love kislev
as soon as i fix my internet :( i'll be restarting it! should be hopefully tomorrow
When’s your next stream sparty ;-; I miss stirring up the chat
So is Kislev confirmed?
not yet
Keenan Andrew Roberts they have more chance being included or at least a dlc or FLC for TW3, or maybe just maybe an dlc/FLC for ME basically you need tw1 and tw2 to own them..
If anything, Kislev has a good chance of being the "good guys" of game 3. You know, the one faction that can be advertised as good, that opposes the chaotic factions aligned with evil. Game 1 had empire and dwarves, game 2 had High Elves and Lizardmen, and game 3 might have Kislev. Every game so far has had at least one "good" faction at launch.
