the many adventures of winnie the pooh, the search for christopher robin, the great mouse detective, a goofy movie, belle's magical world, mickey's once & twice upon a christmas, hunchback of notre dame, the jungle book, peter pan, and most important, the lion king.
I know it's not talked about much, but Henry Mancini's music in the movie is among his best like "The Pink Panther". Should've gotten an Oscar nomination IMO.
The treasure planet is a good movie of Disney and about spaces pirates because the story is very good and very sad,the adventures are cool separate scenes from Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean and the characters are very funny and hilarious
Definitely one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Shame it bombed in the box office and from critics alike. I wouldn't call the movie a masterpiece by any means, but I do recommend it to people many times.
I was thinking the exact thing. Don't get me wrong,I'm not one of those that freaks out about anyone's preference when it comes to a relationship. But we're talking about Disney here. A company that's thrived on traditional family values like a man and a woman only for decades. So seeing this for a change just leaves me bewildered.
I think Kitbull was nominated for an Oscar, but it went to Hair Love. (Which is why I hated the Oscars this year. Pixar always has to win something, and I wanted the Oscars for each of the animated categories to go to Hair Love and Klaus, but neither of them are from Pixar, so one of them just had to lose!)
Do top 10 titles that should be on Disney + (Muppets take Manhattan, Spider Man into the spiderverse, Wander over yonder) plus a few honorable mentions.
Just watched Treasure Planet for the first time last month and honestly it’s one of my favorite movies now. I loved the animation and the world building. As an artist I thought it was beautiful. And the story was really nice too
It has it's flaws but what doesn't?. But it's still a great movie and I just love how they animated the background with the stars, space and the rest of the environment.
I loved Soy Luna! So glad to have found it and actually really glad it only had English subtitles as it has even helped me start to learn and understand Spanish!
Disney actually never was homophobic, Disney always have subtle scenes of hinted homosexuality in films and shows, they just don't want to mislead children into thinking that their favorite character's sexuality are theirs, Disney films for older children helps guide them to find their sexuality. So don't be surprised or think they're only doing it because it's “trendy” when Disney studio releases LGBTQ stuff
Personally I though it was okay It does take itself too serious, I mean it's about robot monkeys, and the villian who has initentes oh j His belt should be a little more sillier.
I started watching Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure for Jeremy Jordan. While the animation took a little time to get used to, the plot continued to the characters beautifully and gave them even more depth. And the music? Let's just say my absolute favorite songs from the franchise no longer come from the feature film.
Ok but the Imagineering docu-series is so interesting. Wasn't expecting to like it all that much but I ended up watching all of it within a few days. Also Diary of a Future President is SO good and needs more attention. Bobby's slow coming out arc is everything. I can't wait for season 2!
What's this?! Treasure Planet has finally made the top spot on a Mojo list?! And after all the constant exclusion it has been unfairly getting and all the times it was on some lists, it was either at the bottom or near the number one spot for obvious and biased reasons?! I can't believe it! Thank you Mojo! I hope that means you finally realized what an amazing and underrated Disney masterpiece it truly is and will be giving it some deserving love, attention, and recognition by including it on future Disney, animation, etc, and won't exclude it ever again or be at the bottom of or even an honorable mention in said future lists from now on!
The Great Mouse Detective is not only a great movie....it was a huge reason why the Disney Renaissance even happened. That movie helped fund the creation of The Little Mermaid, even if it did flop in theaters! Glad it's getting some recognition!
"The great mouse detective" has always been one of my favorite movies from Disney. "High school musical the musical the series" is one of my guilty pleasure in this 2020, but please don't tell anyone 😂😂😂 BTW thanks for the advice, Ms MOJO. I will watch the rest of your lists
I started watching Soy Luna, and it starts off really good, but goes down hill after the second season. My sister is further along in the show than I am and she said it gets insane. Literally a telenovela for Disney's tween audience. I'm not so sure if I'm going to continue this series considering all the spoilers she gave me - most of them bad plot development in my opinion. As for the others on this list, definitely looks like I'll be adding them to my watchlist for the break.
Shop Class is a very underrated competition series. Also, can you do a top 10 best Masked Singer costumes along with a list of the worst Amazing Race challenges?
I love Prop Culture (give us more of it Disney) and The Imagineering Story! But I think movies like Great Mouse Detective and Oliver & Company need more love. But I'd add the live action "Lady and the Tramp" to this list cause it is such an adorable and doggone great live action remake (and as a fan of the animated original- I'd say it's the best of that bunch :P).
I just recently got disney+ but have watched EVERY SINGLE SPIDERMAN CARTOON SERIES which was so nostalgic. I really don't see why disney can't just have definitive rights over Peter
In my opinion, Frank and Ollie deserves the top 10! They worked 45 years at Disney and created as part of the Nine Old Men the Disney-style we all love!
I grew up watching The Newsies, Great Mouse Detective, and The Apple Dumpling Gang and Apple Dumpling Gang Rides again, I own all but Apple Dumpling Gang Rides again and there's so many other Disney movies that I have that belong on this list as well. Swiss Family Robinson, Pollyanna, Toby Tyler, Thomasina...
Jet-X! I love the old Kurt Russell Disney movies. So fun and cringy to watch. Stuff like the Love Bug and 80s Spider-Man cartoons, and of course all those Disney Channel movies.
Newsies is incredible!!! It's so good, really The soy Luna one is really funny to me because it aired in my country quite early, with subtitles in our language and all. And it was very very popular. So it's funny to me that most people don't know it The repunzel series in the honorable mentions is also really popular here
im thinking about dropping soy luna as i heard violetta is better. the plot of soy luna gets repeated so often and bc they dragged it to 80 episodes it got so boring for me :( i feel they could have taken a whole bunch of the repeated antics out and it wouldve been 2 seasons. it has 3 seasons and all have 80 episodes. its too draggy. not to mention they reuse the same 4 songs through season one just remade. i got so tired of the songs
Which hidden Disney+ gem are YOU watching? Let us know below!
The X-Men series animation of Marvel and The treasure planet
I watched the Imagineering Story back when Disney plus started with every new chapter added every week
OMG YES!!! Sooooo glad treasure planet is #1!!! That was my FAVE movie growing up!

They should put the Aladdin series from the mid 90s and the Disney Zorro series from the 50's on Disney Plus.
They should Al's add House of Mouse.
Agreed. And Filmore too.
FINALLY! Some love given to The Imagineering Story!
That was one of the first things I watched when I got Disney plus
I took my now 23-year-old son to see treasure planet in the theater… He still calls it - his favorite Disney animated movie!
23 year-old here, also my fave Disney movie ever
Finally! People appreciate the Great Mouse Detective! 🤗
I know it's not talked about much, but Henry Mancini's music in the movie is among his best like "The Pink Panther". Should've gotten an Oscar nomination IMO.
I've always loved that film since I'm kinda a geek when it comes to crime dramas or films.
The treasure planet is a good movie of Disney and about spaces pirates because the story is very good and very sad,the adventures are cool separate scenes from Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean and the characters are very funny and hilarious

Imagineering Story is AMAZING.
Also Prop Culture, especially the Nightmare Before Christmas episode, that was so great.
The Imagineering story was one of the first things I watched when I got Disney+ also look up culture too
Treasure Planet !!! I love the Disney movie

Mine too. I love the Great Mouse Detective.
Vincent Price nailed it as Ratigan.

I have an addiction for all the Walt Disney, Disney Film History and Disneyland Documentaries. Help. They’re so interesting.
