I wish I had known about this before I just became a victim of a guy pretending to be in the military. I know now he is a romance scammer. A hard lesson learned

Second time trying to use facebook. I join a few groups on topics I'm interested in. Conspiracy groups. After tow days of trying to have a discussion and only getting attacked for my views, I was kicked out. Same as last time.
Facebook is a social manipulation tool for the government. They use group dynamics to create cells of people who are very cultish in their ways. Not good for society. There is no real means to have an intelligent discussion without these trolls interfering. They take over groups and then control what can be said.You can try to create your own group but they infiltrate and destroy it.

there are also the people who grab a name you know, steal their images, and send friend requests. Several times, I've had friend requests, apparently from people with whom I am already friends on Facebook. Conversations with these people are much like the example conversation in your video.
Or you could just use Google image search, that's what I use all the time and I have reported hundreds of fake profiles to Facebook. Some profiles I have reported have been removed but most of the time Facebook do nothing.

Thanks Jon. I wish I had discovered your message months ago. I will definitely take your advise and use the site. I got messages from people claiming to work for facebook and that I had won their lotto. I got the feeling there was something not right when they ask for money for postage to mail the documents I had to sign and I turned them down. I reported it to facebook and all they told me was to defriend them. I would have use tin eye on them when it happened a couple of weeks ago. I don't use youtube hardly at all and I just happen to find an ad for recognixing scammers through a pch contest I entered and your video came up. I am glad I watched it!
Why would you accept a friend request from some random person anyway...?
Some people just want as many friends as possible, just to brag.

What about people you know who just want to snoop on you. People who are using images from another random persons Facebook page. Is there anyway to find the original owner of the image? I also use TinEye for things like this but I never get any results when someone used another persons Facebook image.

But sometimes some of the people on Facebook that don't show there pictures on Facebook is cuz there in a abusive relationship or domestic violence issue and they don't want all there information out there for fear. I also use tineye and google when I get friend request. I also search there profile for information, the comments on the pictures, the likes and so forth....Who there friends are. I also check for other accounts with there picture...

theres an easier way. just right click their picture and click search on google.

What I don't understand is, say, I enter my photo url. When I enter it into TinEye, Google Images, etc it doesn't find my photo o Facebook. People can easily save an image on Facebook and use that as their profile photo. Is there any way to search for this this?
Brian Skibo I'm not sure what you're asking. The purpose is to identify those that are spammers.. and they typically use photos they jacked from dating sites or other places online.
***** ah, yes I see what you mean. In that case no, you would not be able to id those immediately as fake. However, most of these guys simply grab pics of hot chicks from dating sites or google images and use them. :)
+Brian Skibo It is unfortunately not possible to spot all fake profiles using an image search. So, yes, if someone took a photo from a Facebook profile and that photo is not used anywhere else on the Internet, it is possible that picture will not come up on an image search.

Thanks for the tineye.com site. I had a complete stranger friend request me yesterday, and my only friends are people I know or family of people I know. So I was very curious so checked the profile. She is military, medical, on the website. I accepted the request out of curiosity. Her pic (1 of 4) is not found on TinEye but I feel like 80% sure she is fake because her English is just a little off. Fresh, same day Facebook page. Any other tips?

Because my profile because I'm Leary of all that I haven't paid for any date site yet but I get a hell of a lot of views and winks and naked pics sent to me but don't know witch sites are genuinely straight up ? Some Girls get mad or think I'm fake haha seems really funny to me but I'm new to all my apple gear,,And computers. So I struggle but I'm learning fast and I have gotten other likes that take me to other date sites so now I have to clear all my email history and post TinEye guy don't be playing !! Just been on Facebook (don't bother much) for the first time in ages and it's like a spam site, you can't click on anything without something popping up (about adding more to your profile), gotta do you know this person, clicked on them (it) and to the right (of their blank profile) of the page you could see the date 1970 (age) flash up very fast with some other numbers i think...when i first signed with Facebook they " bombarded me with e-mails, so i opted out of (stopped) updates and they said why, which i replied something to the words of this is nothing more than spam, f/ck knows what it would be like now (b/locks).
