  • Quick demonstration using DroneMobile to remotely start my vehcile from my wife's smartphone.
Want to start your work vehicle while on your way in before getting to the shop?
Wish to start your vehicle in that off lot business parking lot at the airport? Hop on your phone before walking down to the baggage claim.
Maybe you just don't want to carry more that one key fob with that push to start vehicle you have??

Will this prevent theft by killing the starter unless you start through the app? I'm trying to avoid someone from breaking in and programming a key or however they do it. I almost my 2023 Corvette stolen so I'm looking for protection in this area and someone told me this would do the trick.

With the uptick in what they call relay attacks I would recommend an aftermarket security system and turn off alarm control via oem remotes. This allows the aftermarket alarm to work independently and if someone does attempt the relay attack (duplicating the keys code) the aftermaket alarm with still trigger and disable the starter. The drone unit itself would allow you to do all the normal features of an aftermarket key fob but with extensive range and gps tracking ability.

Does it have a kill switch

Yes depending on the system installed there is a starter disabled option that can be wired in. With the uptick in what they call the relay attack on push button start ignition systems or even the large amount of Hyundai in Kia vehicles that are being stolen I highly recommend a starter disable system be installed. This way if the alarm is ever tripped the vehicle will not start

These are the normal subscription prices. They do have 1/3 & 5 year plans which the longer you subscribe for the cheaper it becomes. They also run promotions quite frequently whereas you can get 10%, 20% sometimes more off your plans.

What camera did you make your video with?

What model do you have? Mine doesn’t show the temperature.

    • @hawkinstallations4764

The actual remote start brain itself is the compustar 7200. However the majority of them have the capability to do temperature as long as the thermostat is installed. Common install brains are the dc-3, cm900, and cmx brain. What unit do you have because it might be as simple as installing a thermistor to the device?

Where is the module actually installed in the truck?

    • @hawkinstallations4764
      @hawkinstallations4764  10 місяців тому +1

The drone module is installed under the drivers side of the dash. When finding a good mounting location, you're looking to have it facing up and not blocked by any sort of metal dash framing for best results.

@Sip28 in most cases, yes. All depends on the compustar remote start brain that was installed.

It will still need to be activated by a compustar/drone mobile dealer.

Did you have to install a compustar system or did you just install this as a standalone system?
I am trying to install one of these as a stand alone system but I have found little to no information on the POC wires.

    • @hawkinstallations4764

Are you trying to install a drone moble x1 max maybe? Neither drone unit with act as a stand alone remote start unit. If your installing a standalone x1-max unit that will allow you to set poc's for things such as lock, unlock, arm, disarm and aux channels but nothing that would physically start the vehicle. Could wire it as a gps tracking device as well with starter disable.

@@hawkinstallations4764 I am installing an X1 Max LTE. I just need it to lock and unlock the doors. I have the FT-HRN-X1-OBD harness to make the install easier and cleaner but I can’t find out how to program the wires. All I have found that even mentions it is saying it has to be done on the web. Firstech won’t assist because I’m not an authorized dealer. I did see that they have a site for authorized dealers which has guides and I’m assuming some program like Web Link, compustar’s programmer, to program the POCs.
