Thanks! I've cleared my modular system off this desk for now so I can do some more focused improvisations with small setups. I'll bring back the blinking lights eventually :)

Very interesting combo of gear and lovely chilled jam. How are you finding the S4 so far? I like the potential of it being a sandbox for sound design.
It's a lot of fun and very easy to use. I didn't use it so much here, but I did a livestream with the S-4 on my live page where I explored it pretty deep. Very powerful little box too. Has a few little bugs and annoyances, but I hope they'll get fixed fast.

Syntakt or Digitakt? (I need something for beats)
Hey man :) I prefer Digitakt II, but that's just me, I prefer to play and manipulate samples. DII has some really cool stretch modes now that can do some cool stuff to samples.

Where were the backing drones coming from? Were they just super long samples on the DT?
Yeah one of them was a long ambient loop I made specially for the DT II and another one comes in later which is on the S-4.
@@stateazure nice. Do you have any making of drone samples on the channel? Or is it just typically a few layers of Omnisphere / Luftrum plugins?
@@MrMarcLaflamme If you type in 'Enso' on my channel you'll find some. There's a livestream I did that shows me making them and using Audio Damage Enso for the looping. There's a lot of different ways to make them, but Enso works really well for building layered drones/soundscapes. Omnisphere, Luftrum and Slate & Ash kontakt libraries are all really nice for that, I use them quite a bit.

It's really nice, but feels like what the Digitakt should have always been..at least the stereo sample capability, and that's a big upgrade! Some of the new samples machines are really excellent too, for sound design etc. 3 LFOs, also feels so much better.
I just took my first plunge in to Elektron with the D2 and I love the workflow. How are you using your Syntakt alongside it and in your opinion does the D2 make the Syntakt redundant?
Asking as I’m trying to determine if I go deeper with Elektron, whether a Syntakt should be next on my list.
@Teleken1968 I have a digitakt mk 1 and a syntakt and they work really well together. One is a sampler and the other is a synthesis box that does analog and digital. it's a great foundation for an elektron based setup until you graduate to an analog rytm or octatrack. hope that helps. stateA is wayyy smarter than me at this so he might have a better response. :)
