    It depends on the price. Rare and quirky. But not the best condition. But you might regret passing up.

    If you can afford to give it the love it needs, go for it❤️
    It May be a little rough, but that means it needs a true SAAB fan to take care of it😎
    If it goes to a random person, it May just be used up and thrown away😔

    Few facts that you probably didn't know:
    -A little over 800 of these were built before Saab went bankrupt
    - Saab also had plans to fit a small v8 in some of these, some of which (like 4) have the v8
    - Hyundai stold the design from Saab when they went bankrupt, it became the hyundai Sante Fe 2 years later.
    - Saab was owned by the company "Spyker" shortly before cancelling everything because Saab had bought themselves back from Spyker. (Which was a dumb move considering they were losing money to begin with...)

      How exactly is the 9-4x related to the Santa Fe? I don't see any resemblance between them.

    That is such a unicorn which makes it both interesting and a possible headache. My questions: Is it really that special to drive that it's going to be worth the special effort that it requires to keep it going? It may seem cool in your mind, but does it really satisfy? If you get tired or bored with it can you every get your investment back out of it? I only ask because if you're taking those kinds of risks with a car, it better do something that really makes you happy. My clearest feeling is that car does not fit you. Finally, I really appreciate your videos, you do a great job.

      It's basically the last gen Cadillac SRX. You could even get a 2.8L in the SRX and you can actually find parts for those. As a SAAB fan I've always wanted one of these but they are so rare and parts so non-existent I wont go near one.

    I think for diagnostic you need MDI scanner with GDS software,on 9-5 2011 they use that MDI,

    You may never find another one, and if you're that passionate about it, then it's a yes. A decent trimming company should be able to sort out the door cards. I don't think that model ever made it to the UK. SUV's weren't "our cup of tea" back then, but now they are everywhere.

    The trouble will be taking care of it. It's already tough caring for SAABs (at least in my part of the world, in Eastern Europe), and with so few made, all it takes is one reckless idiot to smash into it and ruin it. Maybe the mechanicals are alright to maintain, but those body panels, lights, trim, etc. would be Unobtainium if damaged....

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  Рік тому +1

      Exactly! I've seen a few 9-4x's get totaled over small fender benders or smashed windshields bc parts can be so difficult to get

    They do make MDI clones and the 2.8 is pretty much the same, the engine code changes but that’s about it. You’d probably be the only one equipped to actually fix it and you can haggle it for the cheap, who else would buy it?

    im sorry to say that its comes across as a bit corroded and rough. If interior and exterior trim pieces and the like are impossible to come by it sounds like it may be best to have high standards for the condition of aero specific parts (as well as saab bits) on examples you consider. I say this even though I have only seen one of these ever. Looking at the chart that was shown I suppose it was one of the 4 Moorland metallic models.

  • @sandramelvin7123

    Cool, but as a daily, depends on the price. Parts would be hard to come by. I have a 2007, Burgundy, gray inside, Aero, 2.8l engine going strong @180k miles. Clunk in tranny when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Have to let off on gas and wait for it to shift. If going say, uphill with load on tranny it clunks hard. 6spd automatic. Worry some, any ideas? Is it fixable or toast?

    • @Matt-ne6de
      @Matt-ne6de Рік тому +1

      there are 2007 aero auto boxes available for less than $500 on car-part and you can easily get new clutches and the band and other parts for the 6 speed auto box. The box is a toyota product common across many cars even the valve body pn can be cross referenced with volvo, citroen etc. The transmission rebuild shops wont be scared.

    • @sandramelvin7123

      @@Matt-ne6de thank you. I will look into it. Saabs usually scare the mechanics, so I have done a lot of stuff myself by watching Gary. I can't do the transmission though.

    I don't know how much money you want to spend on a car but once you buy it's only full options. The richest version you'll find.
    I had a choice and a dilemma, to buy a 9-4X or 9-5 NG after 2010. I decided on a 9-5 sedan with a v6 engine, the interior has probably everything SAAB had on offer except for the sunroof.
    My goal is also to buy 9-4 in the future but I don't know if I will make it because there are very few of them.
    I do not recommend the model you are currently viewing because it has too many minor flaws.
    If you are able to import a car from Europe and it makes sense for you, I will send 3 offers to your e-mail address that I have been watching for a long time. The cars are fully equipped and have VERY low mileage. One of them has only 50,000 km.
    9-4 has a lot of messed up by shitty GM but many solutions are still SAAB and in my opinion it is worth buying. People advised me against the same 9-5 but I don't regret it. I have no problems with it and the car itself drives great.
    But I honestly do not recommend the model you show. Invest more money if you can and buy a younger and richer model. It's worth the wait if you don't have enough money. I've been waiting for my dream 9-5 for about 4 years. It was worth it.

    if it's for channel purposes then YES but otherwise a resounding NO. It's a re-badged Cadillac SRX or maybe a Cadi is a re-badged 94x either way it doesn't matter, the SRX on the same Epsilon platform is better in every way except the Saab maybe looks slicker than the Cadi, but neither is a special vehicle by any means. And don't use as daily or else it becomes a FORD (Fix Or Repair Daily) 😁

    A SAAB SUV is an oxymoron IMHO, sorry. Lets make it bigger, heavier, slower, then lets make it tall enough that will ruin the handling and make it more dangerous while making the car FEEL superior .... Ya, that's the ticket... sic
    I'm on about the 7th SAAB in the family, currently have 2 SportCombi's including a 6MT XWD ( just bought on B.A.T ), so I understand its a cool rare ride, but unless you need a unique SUV... pass on this one. Also, very few will be able to relate to this rare machine.
    I love SAAB's, they probably did very good on the 9-4, but I hate SUV's with a passion.
