A very informative review of such an underrated, quirky Swedish wagon. Plenty of pulls with stuff in the boot too, you wouldn't get that on TV nowadays! 😉 This video gave me Chris Goffey/early Top Gear vibes (that is a compliment I promise 😅)
I’ve only driven an early 2.8T saloon and whilst it did feel obviously brisk, I was left a little bit underwhelmed by the performance. The step up in performance from the later 2.0T’s I drove wasn’t too noticeable. It was standard admittedly. I’ll have to drive another.
Gotcha. Mine is a XWD which has 280 HP and Ive raced it against my friends 2.0T Stage 1 (250HP) and it was neck and neck on a straight. Once you tune the 2.8T its no competition. @@carsandcustard
I've had my 08 9-3 since 2010. Was facing a clutch replacement and bought a Mercedes CLA to replace the Saab with. Ended up selling the rather disappointing MB after a few weeks and doing the clutch job on the Saab instead.
Good to see you back! Sorry to hear about the unit situation, I hope you can make it work to your advantage. Best of luck.
Saabs are great value cars. I've had a few 9-3s. Currently have a 2010 convertible with a Noob as a summer cruiser and love driving it.

Kind words, thank you!
Fair play to keeping the stall in at 16:25 !! 😁
Nothing like the terror of stalling a Saab and momentarily forgetting the location of the key!
A facelift Aero for this price is crazy! Congrats on this beauty.
SAAB. Simple And Always Beautiful
Idk who is saying the 2.8Ts don’t feel fast. I’ve owned multiple 2.0Ts and now have a 2.8T and it feels way more powerful.
