Dang I think I was there in 2016 or 17. When I was there, there was some dude with flames coming out of the bottom of his car where the engine was (it kind of looked like if he had his exhaust come out in under his car spitting flames). If I remember correctly, he also had stacks in the front.
Thanks for posting these again this year. I'm waiting to see what happens in the next few years when all the Crown Vic police cars are gone. That's when the full size heats will be full of Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300, I guess. I do love seeing the guys that last longer doing their donuts when they enter the pit than they do once the heat starts as well.
Opening doors, glass windscreens, structural steel bumpers and tractor tyres? Hardly factory cars any more. And it appears no rollcage/ bar either. Plus efi cars as well which are a LOT more dangerous in a demo with high pressure fuel lines
Those firefighters were a JOKE! ...totally unprepared! The lady was carrying 2 extinguishers and the men just watched her run down there and then when she finally got to it her extinguisher wouldn't even work. 10 of them right there behind her watching her trying to put it out and one guy was just kneeling down with an extinguisher in his hand just watching. Unbelievable!!! I know the guy was out of the car and that's all their worried about but some guys' engine just burned to the ground. Maybe not these cars but the motors we run in all our cars run $5000-$7500 just for the engines. If it was mine burning id be hotter than that fire.
Once they get rid of all the 4 doors they're gonna move on to using the 2 doors; Chevelles, Chargers, Challengers, Mustangs, etc. Once those are gone I dunno what they're gonna use!
I like how everyone is so pissed at the fire fighters for not being quick even though the driver got out as soon as the fire started and nobody was in immediate danger.

lwildman62673 it’s illegal to hit the drivers door so securing it isn’t to much of a priority. I weld all my doors on my cars and I just leave the door handle mechanism hooked up with a seat belt holding for good measure. Easier to get in and out of
This is enjoyable but Banger racing is much better in a oval track at higher speeds then you Have a chance to show a bit of driving skill as well as your ability to. hit other cars. Cars are being hit here almost by accident owing to, the size of the driving area

Is nobody aware that when your cars wheels are dug into dirt its A LOT more effective to lightly put your foot on the gas and move slowly than jamming your foot on the pedal. That only makes it worse
I don't have a dog in this race hit with the front the back the side even the bottom if you see fit but first thing do some research on keeping the axles and tires on that shit won't fly down here
I think that anyone that keeps hitting 10 seconds after the stop alarms and flags are being waived should be ejected. I know there's a lot going on but cmon now lol.

Typical North American fire department. Unprepared for anything. One out of two extinguishers doesn't work! No hoses pulled and charged and no one thought to cut the electrics so the fuel pump would stop working. Lawn Statues!

I've never seen a derby where they weren't required to secure their doors. The car that caught fire the driver just opened the door and jumped out.

It’s easy to restub a front end. Hard to restub the rear. If you watch the big shows you’ll realize front end is the way to drive.
