About damaging souls, yuuji can perceive the contours of a soul because his body houses two souls (him n sukuna), so naturally he was able to hit mahito or anyone, to the soul. Nobara can’t hit the soul or perceive it but one of her techniques (Resonance) is sort of like a voodoo “I will hit every part of you through this” so it ends up also hitting the soul. I doubt she actually knows she actually did, and just see it as a regular damage. Todo does not have a technique that does that nor he can see the soul. Black Flash is just an amplification of a CE attack so it wouldn’t magically hit the soul either. But abt Mahito using it, basically anyone with CE can hit it. Remember that Black Flash is like a lucky timing moment (rough phrasing) so as long as it hits right, it will come out. Idk if they deliberately cut this line out or will include it in a different section but the manga did say “The sparks of black does not choose who to bless” or sth like that. The manga had it right when mahito hits it.
Nobara may not have thought about it prior to hearing about Mahito, but she definitely at least theorized that Resonance would probably damage him at some point after hearing about him.
You got the right idea. You just have to realize that the reason that Yuji can harbor another soul is BECAUSE he's aware of the shape of his own soul. The fact that he was able to house Sakuna without being consumed by Sakuna's soul is the evidence of his ability to perceive his own soul. So it's not exactly that he can damage Mahito because he harbors 2 souls, but because he's able to perceive the shape of his own soul, he's able to affect (and damage) the souls of others.

Todo himself doesn’t understand the shape of his soul which leads to him not dealing actual damage. Yuji and Nobara are mahitos only natural enemies we know of. Todo is basically an aid with his technique to yuji in this fight.

Pause on some of the frames where they are fighting the multiple copies, some of the mahito shots are so funny. One hes just geometry and another he looks like a sock puppet and it’s just like you would never see that without looking
Todo is so good at inspiring and motivating that he can even get himself hyped up what a legend. Love how he fights with Yuji like a weapon while also protecting him. Imagine Randy Johnson throws a heater at you and the ball turns into Mike Tyson.
Todo has to imbue the rocks with cursed energy in order to switch with them. I think that wild todo scene was like a fun anime only scene in todos head of him traveling through dimensions or what have you in in his switch, he like landed in a black hole thing and then appeared for the kick. Idk, that's how I took it. For mahitos black flash its a cursed energy manipulation thing, not a technique. The anime omitted a dope narrator line in that scene, during the punch the narrator says "The sparks of black do not choose who to bless"
Also, todo saying that you can't stop moving forward is a curse was internal, that's what he was referring to when he said yuji wasn't ready to hear it. He said don't stop moving forward to him and then the rest is internal dialogue
Inside Yuji's body, there's Sukuna, so Yuji is aware of outline of his own soul(2 souls in 1 body). that makes Yuji can damage Mahito's soul. (that's why Nanami had to retreat at first encounter), Nanami ask Yuji why Mahito's nose bleeding. Black flash is about timing between Physical hit and Flowing cursed energy. : perpectly match = Black flash / lagged = Divergent Fist Todo's best moment is yet to come. lol I can't wait Fun fact 1 : Drawing Star technique guy's last name is Nitta, and we already know another Nitta. Fun fact 2 : Yuji destroy Floor and go down, same pose when Yuji break into Mahito's Domain Expansion(Season 1).
Serious props to Mahito's voice actor. He's been excellent this entire arc but this episode was just fantastic. He really helps make Mahito into the truly hated character that he is. And I LOVE that us all hating him so much parallels exactly the type of curse he is lol Glad Todo is finally here, but I'm still worried for him. The whole time he was having his dramatic moment I was sitting there like 'Do NOT die right after this omg it will so not be funny if you die right now' 😂 Y'all bring up a good point that Geto probably left with the prison realm. I had assumed that when he was fighting Mei Mei it was because he was still protecting B5, but maybe that was him on his way out already. I hope we check back in on Mei Mei soon. The black flash is the application of cursed energy, anyone is able to do it. Right at the moment of impact one expands their cursed energy just as the attack hits and the resulting blow is a lot more powerful. Anybody can do it it's a matter of timing. For the soul, one must be aware of the shape of their soul in order to deal damage to Mahito. Nobody knows why Yuji is able to deal damage because Mahito never explained that weakness of his. For Nobara it worked because of how resonance works, she doesn't need to know the shape of the soul but because the double was very valuable to Mahito. So it was able to deal direct damage. It's why i have a theory that Toji resurrected could probably damage Mahito because by his nature like Yuji would be subconsciously aware of the shape of his soul.
Mahito cant affect yuji coz yuji us aware about the outline of his soul and yuji can attack the soul when he fights which makes him the best foghter against mahito...also mahito cant use domain expansion because of sukuna being in yuji. Yuji able to attack the soul got nothing to do with sukuna

I honestly dk where tf theyre going to end Season 2 here bc shts popping off near non stop for bit in manga still, I was assuming it would end with certain someone claiming hes going to take down Yuji, Thats where I thought S2 was going to end, But I dont think they can fit everything else into 2 more episodes from now til that moment, Idk I guess Mahito stuff could wrap up then week after could be the simmer stuff that leads into moment I spoke of being the Teaser that will eventually tie into S3… Like Shibuya off memory doesnt officially wrap up til that certain scene seemed would be end of S2 and teaser intro into next Arc, But Idky but feels like there was too much left in Shibuya to fit everything in up to that certain scene…

Yeah we know that lol we just couldn't remember why Yuji's attacks affected Mahito's soul but others don't.
Mahito can alter the condition and shape of his body, so in order to hurt or kill him, they need to hurt his soul, and only Yuji be able to do it.
