Southern US dude here. Bud Light is not a beer for drinking, it’s a blight on humanity. I hate it with a passion. I’ve actually had Old Speckled Hen, Fuller’s London Pride, and Newcastle. I love all three, but unfortunately Newcastle is now contract brewed in the US.

When I'm in the USA, I get odd looks when I order a beer and ask for a glass. Most drink bottled beer straight from the bottle. Everyone stood around slurping away. Not for me.
As a Canadian, we drink our beer straight from the bottle. But, of course, for big bottles, we use a glass. I am sure these would taste better in a glass, but it would have to be an ice cold glass as we hate warm beer!

Morland Brewery orignally created Old Speckled Hen, one of their most popular beers and it was brewed in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, the same place where the MG cars were made, hence why the hexaginal badge logo of the Speckled Hen range mirrors that of the MG car badge. In 2000 Greene King bought Morland's Brewery and transfered the Old Speckled Hen brands to its own brewery in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Well young lady, that was very enjoyable and funny . But then so are the vast majority of your posts. I'm a Kentish man, lived there for nearly 60 years, mainly in Sittingbourne. Love the sporting ones, but you need to go to the icebowl in Gillingham and watch the hockey there, it's a lot of fun and my 3 sons all learned hockey, from 6 years of age. Great sport, great game. Advertising rubbish. All water is Burtonised to get to a standard base. Chemically treated usually with sulphuric acid to reduce calcium content and alkalinity. Different flavours due to yeast, hops and the way barley is malted. The advertising bull on the label are great works of fiction.
Hey, if you want a holiday break at the seaside, I would suggest Mumbles in South Wales. While you are there, pop in to the Pilot which is a real-ale pub at the end of the Mumbles mile. Unusually, the Pilot sets the same price for most of its drinks and this used to be £3 a pint. You would be interested to know they also sell at least 7 bottled ciders ranging up to 7.4% alcohol - still all the same price. Enjoy !!!

You drank 7 of the easiest to find beers in british supermarkets.....I really like British real ale and the only one I would consider drinking is the London Pride. You need to check out some of the vast array of golden ales....JHB, Citra, Proper Job, Summer Lightning, something from Badger Ales and if you are lucky enough to find it one of the Tring brewery range....there are many more though.
Brewdog have many fine beers, Elvis Juice is my fave , although I have recently discovered Triple Hazy, 9.2%, tastes mighty fine but , oh! Is it potent!!!

Kentish lad here.. my top 5.. CURIOUS BREW, it's a larger, very crisp because they add champagne yeast into the mix. (from tenterden and there's now a brewery in Ashford) CRANBOURNE POACHER, by badger, very nice with a liquorice taste. BLANFORD FLY, another badger beer with ginger hint to it. SPITFIRE GOLD, lager version of spitfire, nice and refreshing. WHITSTABLE BLOND, Again a lager but proper nice.
Cornish Rattler is my favourite cider ever. Each year when we go to St Ives on holiday we always stop off at Healy's Cyder Farm near Perranporth to stock up on crates of Rattler, Pear Rattler and Cornish Gold. Beer wise Skinners (Truro) is my favourite Cornish brewery. They produce Betty Stogs, Cornish Knocker and Lushingtons. We went for a brewery tour at Skinners in Truro a couple of years back and got absolutely trashed. We were allowed loads of full pints as part of the tour.

Old Speckled Hen was a thousand times better when it was brewed by Morland in Abingdon, the Greene King version just doesn't do it justice.

You drank 7 of the easiest to find beers in british supermarkets.....I really like British real ale and the only one I would consider drinking is the London Pride. You need to check out some of the vast array of golden ales....JHB, Citra, Proper Job, Summer Lightning, something from Badger Ales and if you are lucky enough to find it one of the Tring brewery range....there are many more though.

My favourite British beer is the “Dead Pony Club” by Brewdog, mostly because of the name, but I also like the taste - it tastes like BEER!!! 😊

Brewdog have many fine beers, Elvis Juice is my fave , although I have recently discovered Triple Hazy, 9.2%, tastes mighty fine but , oh! Is it potent!!!

Now this is right up my street! Living in Spain, just having mostly lagers available makes me really yearn for a cosy, warm English pub on a Sunday with a pint of smooth Doom Bar after a lovely roast! YUM!!!

CURIOUS BREW, it's a larger, very crisp because they add champagne yeast into the mix. (from tenterden and there's now a brewery in Ashford)
CRANBOURNE POACHER, by badger, very nice with a liquorice taste.
BLANFORD FLY, another badger beer with ginger hint to it.
SPITFIRE GOLD, lager version of spitfire, nice and refreshing.
WHITSTABLE BLOND, Again a lager but proper nice.
Doom bar is a session ale so pretty easy to drink. More of a golden ale myself ! Try some rattler cider if you see it from Cornwall.
Cornish Rattler is my favourite cider ever. Each year when we go to St Ives on holiday we always stop off at Healy's Cyder Farm near Perranporth to stock up on crates of Rattler, Pear Rattler and Cornish Gold.
Beer wise Skinners (Truro) is my favourite Cornish brewery. They produce Betty Stogs, Cornish Knocker and Lushingtons. We went for a brewery tour at Skinners in Truro a couple of years back and got absolutely trashed. We were allowed loads of full pints as part of the tour.
