Dude this is a really great lesson! I’m just going back through some vids that I have been neglecting as of late and this is an absolutely solid lesson I didn’t understand it that well the first time, but the entire idea of relative major and minor pairs is huge. And I’ll throw another vote in for the solo when you get around to it. Thanks Ryan.
Wonderful song and lesson, thanks Ryan. I saw Floyd on the Division Bell tour in 94(I think). Still gives me goosebumps thinking about it, incredible live band. What a show they put on, probably my favourite gig ever.
I used to play this Gem 20 yrs ago, but didn't get it quite right. I've now been sitting here at 8 am for 20 minutes - I can play it now 👍🏼 Thanks so much buddy I really appreciate what your are doing. Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
For a long time my favourite song. Now a tough choice between Comfortably Numb, Rotten Apple (AIC) and Wake up (Mad Season). I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd live in 93 in Italy. I was 18. We drove 4 hours, 2 hours concert and then drove back another 4 hours. Now only thinking about it makes me tired..
nothing compared to the 20 hours I did from Oklahoma to WV last week ;) haha but great story though Enrico. I'm considering that a request for rotten apple and wake up as well ;)
Great song!! Seeing Roger Waters last year was a treat... what those minds created.... ahhh hard to compare to anything. Congrats on the completion of your journey.. glad there were no crazy hiccups or snow storms along the way... with the winter we had... Welcome to the next chapter. Great song choice.
Ryan Lendt dude! I love the fast pace but thorough teaching you do. Ya just stumbled across you and am digging your vibes. I'm aboard for the long haul 😄
master Ken. hehe. I hope that doesn't stick! congrats on your Taylor! there's quite actually no such thing as a bad taylor. I've had my 410ce for like 13 years and it's the best (non golf) purchase I've ever made
@@RyanLendt Ok, How about Master Ryan instead :-). Yes, I am very happy with the Taylor. I was looking into the 400 or 600 series, but just couldn't afford it....YET :). If you ever get back into the mood to do more Pink Floyd lessons, please do Mother. I got the basic chord progression just fine, but it the strumming patter that keeps messing me up. I think its that broken 3/5 type like Cover Me by Candlebox, but I just cant seem to nail it down :-) Thank you sir , and keep the lessons coming....they rule!!!!
Ryan Lendt I don’t wanna keep bugging you about that but since you brought it up..... let me know as soon as you’re ready to rock ! I don’t know how to reach out to you privately to exchange numbers though 🤔
Hey Ryan.....Love the channel man!!! I have a suggestion for you sir. I have searched everywhere and can find the acoustic version of "Seven Caged Tigers" by STP. If you have time for this one I would love to see it. Cheers!!!
Awesome!! Hahaha. I’ve been hoping Numb would make its way to your teachings, such a great lesson. Impressed with Matt Klein’s references for this request! Enjoy Phili. \m/
Hey man, thanks so much. Could you maybe do stones part for brain of j? I know you did mikes part, but I would really like you to do stones part. Pearl Jam by the way. Also I really enjoy your vids.
I'm ashamed to say I'm not familiar enough with comfortably numb to dare a cover yet! I should start a playlist of songs I intend to do play throughs of. Great idea heavy - and Don't Follow - yes.
Here is a good accoustic request I think. “Trouble” by Cat Stevens. Covered by Eddie! Do You like Neil Young? I think he would be a good category to start doing. :)
Oh yeah has right. I forgot about Free World! I love playing that song. I swear sometimes a song that is considered to be hard. I can pick it up pretty quick with practice. Then Songs that are considered to be easy. I will have to put more practice into it. Untill I get it. It’s frustrating. I wanted to ask you something. When is considered to be the proper time to use a 7th chord or a sus chord in a chord progressio, when writing a song? I think I know but not sure?
a fancy little shure lightning port condenser mic that plugs into the ipad. I've been using it in my videos for quite some time, ever since one Junior's Guitar Ranch heckled me for months about how bad my sound was! I'm very thankful for his heckling :)
I have a question about the B minor chord. Can the 1st and second chord shape of what you said be played up the guitar neck and stll be a minor chord with the root note?
Thanks! So if I was to take that chord shape up a whole step it would be a C# minor then so on? The first two chord shapes. Not the A minor shape Barr chord. But the other two.
Haha! I thought you were doing something for a different sound for the song lol. I put mine like that to see lol. Then I realized it was probably just hanging there.
bro i love your teaching method. i’ve been playing for years and you break songs down so easy. Thanks
thank you for that Stephen, cheers :)

It's awesome when things click :) I'm glad you heard that at the right time Kevin
You are so funny Ryan! Oh man! Lol! The way you described coming out of the rain storm into the rainbow level of Marioland. Awesome!
:) cheers BB
Wonderful song and lesson, thanks Ryan.

Thanks tons Justin :) wow, you're a lucky man!

I approve of this 8AM activity - thanks for having me at breakfast :)

This was a fun learn. Thanks man. Never knew this song was so friendly.

Hoping you eventually get the solo going on a video as mentioned at the end of this one.

you're nice Bruce.
Great lesson Ryan. Comfortably Numb was certainly a highlight on the last tour. Thanks for the lesson.
You're very welcome Martin :)
Hi Ryan
Can you do a tutorial on Breathe (in the air) by Pink Floyd please?
definitely. PF needs some love. Thank you Stefan!
Awesome lesson, happy for the sneaky theory lesson !!
you weren't supposed to notice ;)
Like this guys teaching style
welcome to the party James
This video just unlocked my understanding of how to use relative minor/major scales.. Didn't expect that from a Pink Floyd guitar tutorial :P
love it.
Yes, Ryan! Big thanks and keep it up!
Thanks mister thrown!
Can't wait to hear the lead on uncomfortably numb!
Great song!! Seeing Roger Waters last year was a treat... what those minds created.... ahhh hard to compare to anything.
Congrats on the completion of your journey.. glad there were no crazy hiccups or snow storms along the way... with the winter we had... Welcome to the next chapter. Great song choice.
why thank you kara dear :) someday I'll make it to BC... but I won't drive!!
Ryan Lendt haha yeah you’ve had enough driving for the foreseeable... I’m one province closer though.. Alberta ....
"Chance" by Big Country; the verse goes Bm/A/G/D and then the chorus D/A/D/A/G; is that the relative minor thingy? Whatever, great lesson and thanks!
welcome! Bm is D's relative, hope that helps :)
It sounds like we left the rainstorm and we enter the rainbow section! I get you!!! I love this guy. Keep on keeping on! B-d
greetings and cheers scout, thanks for hanging out :)

Awesome as always!! I have learned so much from your videos! Thank you!
thank you for hanging out RBF!
I’ve been wanting to play this tune for a while. Thanks for the lesson man.
Rock on craig, I'm glad you found what you needed :)
You sir deserve a prize
That comment WAS a prize :)
now we're getting serious here!!! comfortablky numb!!! thanks man... that's the music to work on this week!
so happy to be a part of your week :)
Great Lesson Master Ken ;). I am a beginner (about a year now). Bought a Taylor 214e (black) and am loving it. I see you are using a Taylor as well :)

410ce - thanks J!
The expression out of the rain into rainbow. You mean like when the single white line hits the prism and goes rainbow!!!!!
:)
Very cool man!
thanks Craig!
Great lesson dude! Unto Elysium please 🙏🏼

SWEET STUFF RYAN!!!!!!
Thanks Sebastian!!
Awesome, man! Thanks for splainin’! Love it! Keep up the good work!

Aren’t you cold in that shirt? Lol it’s a chilly day here in PA. Awesome job Ryan! Talk soon my friend
responded in tomorrow's video :)
Nice Ryan!! I love playing this one
Glad you're pleased future PJ cover band mate!
Ryan Lendt I don’t wanna keep bugging you about that but since you brought it up..... let me know as soon as you’re ready to rock ! I don’t know how to reach out to you privately to exchange numbers though 🤔
ryanlendt@gmail.com
YESSSS! I’m going to have fun with this. Going to wait Untill I can really focus on this!
woo hoo!
You should do Pink Floyd Mother since PJ did the song on tour.
I should definitely do that
Great lesson and just enough theory that my head didn't pop
thanks for your patreon signup CS :)
Hey Ryan.....Love the channel man!!! I have a suggestion for you sir. I have searched everywhere and can find the acoustic version of "Seven Caged Tigers" by STP. If you have time for this one I would love to see it. Cheers!!!
Hi Charles, thanks for the shout! We will definitely get to seven caged tigers someday, I think you're the second vote for it :)
Cheers brother....have a great day!!!
Awesome!! Hahaha. I’ve been hoping Numb would make its way to your teachings, such a great lesson. Impressed with Matt Klein’s references for this request! Enjoy Phili. \m/
Matt and I are very glad you're pleased Kevin :)
thanks, it's really helpful
Glad to hear it Tienle :)

whooooooooooooooo's got the brain of JFK what's it mean to us now!?
What a great anology!
I've forgotten what I said... but I'll take your word for it :)
Dude! Such a good lesson I had comment again for the 3rd time.
haha cheers to you Kevin :)
Another awesome lesson! I think a play through would be proper! Also, how about Alice In Chains acoustic version of Don’t Follow?
I'm ashamed to say I'm not familiar enough with comfortably numb to dare a cover yet! I should start a playlist of songs I intend to do play throughs of. Great idea heavy - and Don't Follow - yes.
Oh yea the analogy I was talking about was the change from B minor to D major the way you described it. Lol.
I always make proportions in my head too :)
You kind sir are brilliant... :D
why thank you even kinder sir :)
Here is a good accoustic request I think. “Trouble” by Cat Stevens. Covered by Eddie! Do You like Neil Young? I think he would be a good category to start doing. :)
I've only done rockin' in a free world from neil! how is this possible? and yes, I think that's two or three for trouble :)
I think I know but not sure?
the answer, of course, is whenever it sounds good to you :)
Can you please make a solo lesson for acoustic
on the list for ya Abhay :)
What type of strings are in use here?
elixirs
Play solo on acoustic pls !!
is that even possible!? :)
Nice one Ryan, great song. So, Gilmour's part next? Actually don't bother, I won't be able to play properly for a good few years anyway.
hahaha I've actually been thinking about gilmour's part all day
How do you get the acoustic guitar to sound so good on camera?
a fancy little shure lightning port condenser mic that plugs into the ipad. I've been using it in my videos for quite some time, ever since one Junior's Guitar Ranch heckled me for months about how bad my sound was! I'm very thankful for his heckling :)
Ryan Lendt noted and added to the shopping list
Do both solos Ryan
yes sir!
in the style of John Mayer
Above, Mad Season... I'll ask till you do that one :v
I'll hold ya to it :) Great request Ramon!
You should do the solo for us
noted
Oh the dreaded BM hahah I love ya bro your a hoot

gramma always brings crappy deviled eggs …. mind blown thank you !
I'm glad that was helpful to you Todd :)
I have a question about the B minor chord. Can the 1st and second chord shape of what you said be played up the guitar neck and stll be a minor chord with the root note?
yessir :) Bm up higher would be: 799777
Thanks! So if I was to take that chord shape up a whole step it would be a C# minor then so on? The first two chord shapes. Not the A minor shape Barr chord. But the other two.
yoooo philly? as in pensylvania?????
Indeed Sage :) Are you here as well?
I sure am!!
I barley heard the “I don’t condone listening to maroon 5” like you’re talking about drugs 😂😂😂😂
hehe that's essentially how I mean it
Is your Capo just on your guitar?
yeah it's supposed to just hang out down there by the head :) It's not engaged
Haha! I thought you were doing something for a different sound for the song lol. I put mine like that to see lol. Then I realized it was probably just hanging there.
7:39 a ghost walks by
I think that was Ruthie haha
@@RyanLendt Oooohhh ok my mistake then... haha. By the way you are a great teacher and you videos are really good. Thank you
Strumming pattern at 2:14
My head hurts
take two aspirin and call me in the morning
Love your lessons, BUT, could you play the song first, or at least part of it, so we know where we going. Maybe it’s just me, but it truly helps.
nooo you didn't ... this is my bf favourite song. and i love the way eddie sings it, even better than pink Floyd shhhhhh don't tell that to anybody :)
yay! Sam's fire has been lit!
Why don't you listen to maroon 5? 😂
I don't get it. She picked up a spoon
Well here is what I suggest.....play! Do not talk! Jesus
why don't you sing bro?!?!? got a voice man use it!!!!.... or what we gotta pay?
these days I reserve most of the singing for the livestreams - thanks for that Jose!
