      I agree.....I have just binge watched all of Homeland 1-6....in three days! I didn't realize what a great show it was. I was soooo upset when they finally killed Quinn off for good...having survived so much, I really thought that they would allow him some happiness with Carrie. But no.....I cried!

      Loanne Nguyen the show has been spun into Liberal trash propaganda anyways. It's a disgrace to all Americans...

    • @aikidoka00
      @aikidoka00 7 років тому +10

      James Kellar I disagree, sort of... I think if you watch the show and think of trump instead of the hilary type character they have, it applies to what is going on today. Let me be clear I am not a trump supporter, but I can't help but feel after watching this whole season that there has been an organized effort to undermine his presidency behind the scene. If anything this show has brought me more from the left to the middle, which may not have been the shows intention. Let's remember they fully intended on this show being aired with Hilary in office. If she was in office, the show would have a completely different political spin, at least to me. Funny the way that works.
      One thing is for certain. There is alot of money, time and effort being used to control the way we think. The Boiler Room scene will really stick with me. No doubt that stuff goes on in America, no doubt.

    What an adorable and talented man. Gonna miss him on the show. I'm still holding onto a glimmer of hope that there's some way there's an opening for him to return, like maybe Dar whisked him away somewhere, and he was resuscitated. I remember Carrie talking about a "memorial" for him that she went to, but there's no mention of a "funeral." Might be a very slim chance, but you never know..

    So Carrie Mathison has random one-night stands with questionable men of dubious character and none of Quinn's good looks but she always somehow manages to resist or say NO to hot, intensely handsome Peter Quinn, who cares so much for her? It makes no sense. One symptom of bipolar disorder is increased sexuality, ergo the one-night stands. If mentally stable women swoon at the sight of Quinn and yearn for him physically, there is no way that somebody like Carrie could resist him all the time, especially considering how relaxed she is about casual sex. It's like the writers of this show wanted us to feel sorry for Quinn on every level but it is unbelievable that a character so appealing to women would be repeatedly rejected by the leading lady. Just look at him. And all he gets is the middle-aged German lady Astrid (who never openly said she loved him) and his chubby land lady. It is just not realistic at all. A man like this would have gotten a lot of attention in the CIA and even anywhere he went, women would've fallen for him or chased him. Not realistic at all. Maybe these two actors didn't get along in real life that's why there was never much of a physical intimacy between their characters in the show? In most of Rupert Friend's interviews he describes the Carrie character as "Selfish" or "no moral code" etc.

    • @janasalvador-viado2725
      @janasalvador-viado2725 7 років тому +12

      Or the writers were all male and did not understand that being passionate for Brody is kind of hard to imagine for us women but being passionate for Quinn is like a no-brainer. They make the leading lady fall hard for the married-with-two-kids red-headed terrorist but not for the very handsome single Jason Bourne/James Bond CIA man. It is infuriating. I am not tuning in for season 7. It's one thing to kill Peter off heroically but to deprive him of love or meaningful physical intimacy the entire time is too sadistic to the viewers. We get it, we empathize with those who suffer from PTSD, stroke or victims of gas attacks, and gunshot wounds. But the way they portrayed this beloved character's suffering was too much.

    • @tejthebeast
      @tejthebeast 6 років тому +14

      It's because Carrie doesn't truly understand love. She is a complex character, although she is often reckless. She craves attention from those who try to distance themselves from her and shuns those who really care for her. As Saul said, she is the smartest and the dumbest person on the show.
      I also think that she is scared of real intimacy. That is why she always ends up in doomed relationships. With Quinn, she sees an actual opportunity to live a happy life and that scares her as it did, when she was about to become a mother.

    I didn't see Homeland until I got the DVDs of all the seasons. I've read how Rupert is considered almost a stereotypical troubled guy -- I don't get it. Despite all the troubles he encounters, he provides a balance, a conscience to the show that isn't evident elsewhere. I don't think I will enjoy the show without that element. Everything else I had ever seen him in did NOT fit that stereotype, which leads me to believe that he keeps a tight rein on the projects he takes and that many filmmakers (primarily Brit) see the many facets he can bring to bear in telling a story on film. He is an incredibly talented actor and seems a person of substance, albeit not stuffy. I wish him nothing but the best (please please please don't do James Bond), and good damn luck to Homeland without him. God, storytelling is such a noble profession -- can you just imagine that you have to sit in for these giggly superficial interviews as part and parcel of your job? He's a gentleman and weathered it well. Thank God he's got the likes of Aimee Mullins to go home to. They are a class act.

    I doubt I'll watch it again now Quinn is gone. Carrie in the Bodie days was kickass and the show was great. Now Carrie is permanently a drama queen in manic mode looking for more drama, she can't go two scenes without being in an emotional wreck scenario. I often fast forward through her scenes.
    At the start I didn't like Quinn but they developed his character very well and in season 6 with the after effects o9f the toxin his acting was amazing and *importantly* not full of melodrama like Carrie would be.
    The most boring TV I can remember in years is Carrie doing her bipolar meltdown for most of a season. Now Quinn is gone, the lack of kickass scenes will make it more noticeable how boring Carrie is with her endless emotional drama.

      What makes you think he won't be in the show anymore? Remember, don't give away any spoilers

      A memorial isn't a funeral. There's still a (very) small chance, imo, that he might still be kicking about somewhere, maybe thru some arrangement that Dar made.

    I am sure that Rupert left that interview disgusted and confused. The US people have no idea what he is talking about.

    I really enjoyed this season of homeland, until the last episode which I found a bit preposterous.
