- The Tony-, Emmy- and Grammy Award-winning actor, known for his intensity, admits he has earned a reputation as being "hard to handle" for walking out of shows. But in "Homeland," Mandy Patinkin is in his element as CIA Agent Saul Berenson, the calm in the eye of the storm. Correspondent Holly Williams talked with Patinkin in Morocco where he was filming the series' eighth season. They also discussed his years as an ambassador for the International Rescue Committee, and she joined Patinkin and his wife, actor-writer Kathryn Grody, as they visited a camp for Syrian refugees in Jordan.

Even to this day, the look on Saul's face at the end of the series makes me wish there was a ninth season of Homeland. I just re-watched the whole show and I miss it all over again, strange how we could get so attached to a TV series, but then again, this isn't just any "normal" TV series. What an experience this must have been to create this over the span of 8 years, great people!
Perfectly put, for all intents and purposes they brought these characters to life and made them people, made them real, emotive

His character "Saul" is amazing. I cannot imagine anyone else playing that character. He is probably my favorite character on the show. I've always heard that Patinkin was "hard to work with" but I never really knew why.....I am glad that they touched on that. I can live with the fact that he gave up a lot of money, because he felt the character he was playing was "damaging to his soul', or something to that effect.
I absolutely love him and I love how she was quiet while he was thinking. That's so cool, professional, respectful and it shows CLASS. Brilliant that they also did not edit those few seconds. Great job guys!

What an amazing range of talent! Seeing him when I was young, ( 18 - 25), on Broadway with his beautiful voice. And now this. There are " Hollywood Stars" and then there are great talents. Mr Patinkin is indeed,, the latter. I've just binged on "Homeland" and now have to search out Mandy's other performers via his IMDB "resume".

Every scene in Homeland with Mandy in it was riveting. The characters dedication to decency coupled with his furious anger could not have been delivered by any other actor. The man oozes every emotion imaginable from every pore available.

The best series I’ve ever seen. I still have 3 episodes of season 8 to watch, yet I put off finishing for fear of it ending.
I put off the very last episode for 2 weeks for that same reason lol

Just finished or binge watched Homeland on HULU. Mandy Patinkin as Saul and F Murray Abraham as Dar were my favorite scenes. In my humble opinion, Patinkin and Abraham "stole the show".
Daaaamn, I just discovered a whole other side of a such a nice human being. Thinking he was just delivering an intense role in such a complex political context while he is actually giving extra time from grear causes is incredible. Amazing human being. I hope we'll see him soon in greater roles :)

A friend of mine grew up with him in Chicago. He's an extraordinary talent. He does seem in need of meds however.
Alot of these people are high strung and high energy , and when they are working they are overbearing; when they come down they crash. He seems like a very nice and caring person, even if difficult.
He should be popping them pills that Carrie has been on since season 1

When Mandy said he'd like to do comedy I always had a secret wish he'd play Leonards dad on The Big Bang Theory. Mandy looks like the old version of Leonard and could definitely pass as his dad.
