What you are doing is great and your not only showing yourself this can be done but others too. There are so many unhappy people out there that don't know why they are down and feel trapped all the time. For a lot of them, it's simply because they are living the wrong lifestyle for themselves. You can see this by the people on YT either by vids or comments and in day to day life when talking to people we encounter. You and others are the forefathers and paving a road that other like minded people can and will/do follow to find happiness in their lives. That is something BIG and something to be Very proud of. Your part of History now! Good job and thank you for being so selfless as to share your life to the public eye so others can learn and be inspired.
darfirst - Amen to that! You're so right, these people ARE the forefathers! What a nice comment. They are all my heroes. I'm striving for this lifestyle and the videos feed my soul until I can do it on my own. It's been incredible getting to watch this anytime and so many interesting videos to choose from. Actually, I've kind of run out of new ones to watch! Haha! Great comment!
darfirst, could not have said it better then you. Add the fact I thoroughly enjoyed watching the videos of you, your gymnast daughter and the time you all shared. Way cool. 👍✌
Thanks for sharing that, my wife and I met on Facebook living 3000 miles apart but sharing many similar lifestyle goals, after corresponding for 10 months we met up at a neutral venue, talked for a week solid and have been inseparable ever since. We are currently on a road trip around the Chesapeake bay, sharing adventures has just made it all the more special. I hope you find the right companion . God bless and stay safe
Happy One year Vaniversary Brian! It seems like so much longer than one year since James (Wanderlust Estate) interviewed you in a parking lot. I guess its because you've covered so much ground in one year and have shared so much with us. It's been a pleasure following along this entire road trip with you. I wish you Happiness, Health, Wealth, Peace and Love for season 2 and beyond for your journey. Continued Safe Travels my friend! :-)
It's really an anniversary for your viewers too Brian! When you talk about the jobs you've done and the places you've been, it brings to mind the video or videos we watched of you there, and it's like a video album of shared memories. Congratulations to us all, and with your new clarity of purpose gained on the road, it can only get better.
As always Brian..every video is so well thought out...I appreciate absolutely everything you do ..all your hard work!!....I have the highest respect for you!!
I remember you starting off. It doesn't seem like a year. You have taken us a lot of great places and seen some cool things. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Congratulation on the Vaniversity! I have really enjoyed watching your adventures and hope that you have many more. When the whole country is your 'home base', then you will understand why we watch your videos. Safe travels ans have fun!
I was living in my van on 9-11-2001 in Colorado at Columbia Gulch. I went there to experience the aspens changing. I had been there almost a month and the night before that fateful morning I had a crazy fire dream and woke up to the news. It was such a memorable journey. I look back and am very thankful for being there at that time. I felt safe and off the radar. I was imagining what it was like out there in the world but I was very comfortable right where I was..... Was there marshal law? Was everyone stuck on the roads? Curfew??? I just didnt know what was going on and wasnt in a hurry to find out. It's amazing how at peace you can feel in the forest~
Brian I've been following you, Eric, James and Chris from the beginnings of your channels. I appreciate every video you put out because I'm disabled with crohns and I'm working to conquer that and get on the road. Ive been static in my rv almost two years like you used to be. I live vicariously through you and the others getting to travel. Thanks man and I hope to see ya on the road one day...oh and you'll have that silver play button from youtube in no time!
Such a wonderful, we'll thought out video. Thoroughly enjoying watching your life on the road, and congratulations on one year of doing what you love. Peace my friend.
I am looking forward to that very moment you spoke about. That moment when you know you're home. It's amazing how far you've come and how full you are. It's so nice to see! This is absolutely what I want for myself. I don't know if you will read this comment but I have really come to feel like I know you and hope to be friends someday! I want to meet all of these wonderful people I'm following along with on their path of freedom! This particular video was a joy to listen to because I'm not only happy for you but I see myself where you are. It can't come soon enough! Health and happiness to you Brian!!!
Congrats Brian, been following your journey since the beginning. You're inspiring many people. Thanks for sharing the adventure. The best is yet to come!!
One of the many things I appreciate about your v-blogs is that they seem to put my mindset at the life and times of when people traveled and just the travel itself was the adventure. Reminiscent of steamliners, trains, and those long, slow paced rides across the nation pitching tents as you go. And because you mix it up, from commentary posts to travel posts, as well as just footage of the miles disappearing under your hood, my interest is always peaked. You mentioned owning land. I've owned an actual home before. Because of a divorce we sold the property. I really do want to change my life too, but I also want to have a place I can return to. I don't need a house on it either. That will always be where ever I'm at in the moment. I've found property in Missouri, Nevada, Northern California, Arizona, and Texas, all that are at a minimum of a half acre, and up to 40 acres in one of them I'm Arizona. Oh, Florida too. As it seems to be formulating in my mind, I can't help but always conclude that, unless I return every week or two, the property will become overgrown and unmanageable unless I find something more 'desert' like. I guess I've even found some in Colorado and Utah as well. Sorry, when I key in my thoughts, they seem to stretch, lose continuity, and meander. The original point was to share that I've found a good handful of sites where the owners are selling off chunks of their mass land plots and carrying the note themselves at very good payments (meaning very affordable). The next point was that I'd found these properties in many states, and the last ws suppose to close with my struggle in what to buy, where. It seems that the struggles are all the same, regardless of how we live. One can suggest that the scale is different, but that is only true based on one's perception of the value of their issues. This was a great post reflection of your last year and the things you've learned about yourself. And after all, it's your life, your journey, and your youtube channel. We are but an audience viewing because you've allowed us to do so. In that aspect, it's mildly akin to 'The Truman Show', yes? Our approval is not needed. Our only function is to view if we choose, interact if you allow.
Congratulations! Keep on doing what makes you happy. Thanks for sharing the ride, tips and views Along the journey. America has so much to see and lots of good folks to meet too.
Congrats! Thanks so much for being honest about your finances and feelings. Workamping is going to keep me on the road while I learn how to do more. Thanks for giving us your true feelings.
iam sure you have gain a lot of experience through van life on the road! seen a lot of thing and beautiful nature scenery and beautiful girls too! making new friend and enjoy together! stay safe! keep on rving!
Brian I still vote for a Patreon page. Let the people that enjoy your videos show some support if they so choose. Strictly optional, of course. Some people don't mind supporting you because they get a lot of enjoyment from your videos. Like you said, it's a lot of work. I know you have a paypal but patreon is a way for people to support you on a regular/ongoing basis.
I stealth camped for a while and you do tend to carry a constant feeling of concern about being found out. Out in the woods that's gone. Really agree about excersizing. I hike and mountain bike a lot. I had a dog, which I loved, but you are constantly having to deal with what to do with the dog when you want to go places that you can't take it with you. I also bought a small house in the desert for a host of reasons. Cheap and is very handy at times.
Thanks for allowing this old man to travel with the you. I have really enjoyed your posts, you impressed me with your honesty and commonsense approach to van life!Wishing you all successes in your future travels.
So many counties are passing zoning that does not allow you to live in a rig on your own land, some don't even allow a cabin to be off grid. Setting up a home base is getting more complicated all the time. I think it would be cool for a group of people to buy an old campground that they could all use as a joint home base, so everyone had their own site and people in the group would come and go. Maybe there would be a couple people who are ready to be in one spot that would act as caretakers.
I was actually looking at a trailer park for this purpose...It had 40 sites and a few trailers. I was looking for 20 people with $10,000 each(it was $200,000 for the property) to buy a home base with sewage and electric and some of the sites had trailers on them. I never got far enough with the plan and it fell to the wayside. It is a great idea~
thumbs up Brian. keep on keeping on. you and your vlogs are such an inspiration to so many people. I just think about people who feel trapped and might see your vlogs and know there is a freedom they can have like yours. blessings bro.
Brian, you have learned to be content and that is what most people don't have.We are constantly bombarded with advertising that you have to have the latest and greatest to be happy. I have neighbors all around me that are in debt up to their necks to have all these things, boats and class A motor homes that they only use 1 or 2 times a year. You are living your dream at such a low cost simply enjoying each day as it comes!✌✌😊😊
Congratulations Brian. You've done a good job showing the lifestyle and getting to the out if the way places. Best wishes for your success and continued walk about.
It's been fun following you on your journey! Your videos are consistently entertaining. The quality of your videos just keeps getting better. Thanks for taking us along! Happy Vaniversary! Keep living your dream, Valerie
Congratulations. Glad to hear a review and your vision for the future. Really enjoying the drone footage you have added to your reports. Good for you, Brian!
Your goals seem to be extremely sensible to me. I enjoy my own company too but I agree that it is better to make the effort to socialise. Also a bit of land to call your own provides security. It is a challenge but I would also say that it is important to accumulate savings for eventual retirement - live cheap, do a bit of work here and there and have enough saved up to keep you well and avoid anxiety when you get old.
Happy belated ANNIVERSARY Brian. Sounds like a plan. I know your yearning for the dream- your in it! God bless and your desires met. "One day at a time" Be happy, having safe travels. Thanks for sharing your life adventures. Jp
I enjoy your videos and appreciate the fact you are not an ebegger. I have no idea what your plan is for older age, but it takes a LOT of money to deal with health issues and, just life. At your age, you can't imagine what's ahead for you in a few years, but you need a plan, believe me.

Editing video doesn't take much time in and of itself. BUT, getting good video to begin with and then editing it WELL does take a lot of time and effort. You do a great job of both. Keep up the great videos and enjoy life man!
Congrats on the anniversary. You were the first full timer that I found on UA-cam so you are an inspiration to me. I'm saving up now for a van for just summer and weekend travel for the next few years. Then when I retire, I plan to be full time on the road in an RV. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing your journey.
Wow, it's clearly obvious something really changed for you. Your whole demeanor has a peace about it! Clarity is a beautiful thing. Thx for all the vids, be well!
Inspiring...almost as good as veggie taco night!

Thanks for the journey, you make a lot of sense. You have to make peace with yourself before you can settle with a plan for the future.

Congrats, Brian!
Happy Vaniversary! so awesome. I love your "rambles". :)
Happy Vaniversary. I love your videos. Wish you all the best.
Many blessings brother.
Great video and listening to you. You do sound happy and content. I will watch you and see what comes next. Keep up the good travels Brian.
Happy belated ANNIVERSARY Brian. Sounds like a plan. I know your yearning for the dream- your in it! God bless and your desires met. "One day at a time" Be happy, having safe travels. Thanks for sharing your life adventures. Jp
Right on Man! great message!
Enjoy the videos!
It's been a great year from this side! Happy Anniversary Brian 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I enjoy your videos and appreciate the fact you are not an ebegger. I have no idea what your plan is for older age, but it takes a LOT of money to deal with health issues and, just life. At your age, you can't imagine what's ahead for you in a few years, but you need a plan, believe me.
Happy Vanniverary!
Very inspirational! This makes me wish I had made a move a long time ago.
living the dream buddy, I really enjoy your videos
Congrats! I hope I can travel the country like this someday
Congratulations!
Happy VANiversary.. Many more to come.
Good luck.. Hopefully you get to New England sometime...
I fully, FULLY support you finding some land and creating a "home base" of sorts. I own 40 acres in northern Arizona. Put up a couple of cabins and absolutely love it. I gotta tell you, it's the best thing I've ever done. If you do go that route, do your homework, find the right parcel and make sure you're above a water source. When it comes to companionship- bleh. Get a dog. You'll be much happier. ;-)
Take care and safe travels my friend.
You are doing great Brian! 👍
