Thanks Nicole and Skydio team. I just received my Skydio yesterday and very impressed with build quality. I have performed all the updates and pairings of: Skydio 2 drone, Battery Dual Charger, Batteries, Beacon and Controller) After watching possibly every YT video, reading all the manuals several times and making myself a preflight checklist, I am ready to try it out for first time today. I think it's great that you make these videos, I now understand better the concept /procedure for hand catch and landing.... This is a big departure from my DJI drones and excited to experience your technology for certain situations I would not trust my DJI drones to perform. Another tool in my inventory.
Keep your eyes peeled for more Skydio KeyFrame videos, tutorials and more coming soon! But first, check out this blog for everything you need to know about KeyFrame and how to capture mind-bending shots! www.skydio.com/blog/introducing-skydio-keyframe-the-best-camera-drone-for-dynamic-aerial-cinematography
It is really great that you are doing the flight school. Thumbs up for that alone. One thing I think you forgot to mention: Skydio 2 obsticial avoidance is active until the light change color. Trying to hand catch with this active is very difficult and not advised.
I thoroughly enjoy watching the Skydio Flight School and I am looking forward to seeing more episodes. I have watched different Skydio 2 UA-cam videos in preparation to receiving mine, but everyone has their own way of demonstrating the Skydio 2 functionaility. Great job Nicole! Thank you!
Every time I see a skydio 2 vid, its a pain....cause not being able to order one....as I live in the wrong continent!!...Europe.....but I cannot wait any longer...will order this via a friend in the US...been wanting it since the preannouncement from you guys!!.....time is ticking and I aint getting any younger....don´t wanna be getting a skydio when start using a walker! 🙏🙌😁😎
Isn't it dangerous to get your fingers that close to moving blades with hand launching/landing? Does the skydio blades have enough power to badly damage a finger(s)?
So in the video, it mentioned not to do a ground or case landing when in a boat, so is the hand catch method suggested for that or generally are you not supposed to land on boats in general?
My skydio2 will not update. It is on 7.0.27 and tells me the software is up to date. I sent skydio emails, I followed their instructions and still nothing. I called and after a long hold, got a message to leave a message. Half way through leaving all the information they wanted, it cut me off. Is everyone else having the same issues? Are there any solutions? Thanks.
If you set a home point on the map within the Skydio 2 app and are tracking a subject, Skydio 2 will continue to follow the subject for 20 seconds, or until the vehicle needs to return home due to a low battery (whichever occurs first). After tracking has stopped, Skydio 2 will return to the home point. If NO home point is set: If you did not set a home point and are tracking a subject, Skydio 2 will continue to track for 20 seconds. After that time, it will return to the last location it was actively tracking a subject while connected. When NOT following a subject If home point is set: Skydio 2 will return to the home point you have set. If you do not have a home point set and you lose comms, Skydio 2 will go to the last location that a subject was tracked since launch. If there was no subject tracked in this flight, Skydio 2 will return to the launch point. If you are not able to connect to Skydio 2 by charging your phone or connecting the Beacon, Skydio will hover until it is low on battery, then it will auto-land wherever it is.
Is there a way to abort emergency landings? If not, why? I am responsible for safe operation of the drone and it having a mind of it’s own could potentially cause an accident or put someone at harm.
Unfortunately no not at this time, if the drone is landing due to an emergency there wouldn't be a way for it to cancel it's landing, due to the emergency.
Things I wasn't happy about with this vid: It didn't show charging battery and it didn't show inserting sdcard and some sections of vid going over stuff too fast. Otherwise kinda confidence raising vid, but please be more slow & thorough and not be speedy-gonzales, Lol, thanks!
Nicole does not understand Programmed learning processes which are step by step tutorials of doing ONE task. She spends way too much time with useless showy graphics and intros and jumps from different task to different task. There is no way one can use these instructions while at the same time trying to fly Skydo. My second point is the confusion and jumping around for HOW a beginner can fly Skydio. I have had my Skydio 4 months and still cannot get past startup much less flying. The website just confuses things with a very sub par Flight School from a clueless showoff to a User Guide that also jumps around. Whatever hsppened to Step 1: Step2:….etc?

Looking to forward to a video on "return to home", hopefully it's in the queue. Thanks for another great video. 👍
Nicole Bonk? Best name ever..... They should have the Nicole Bonk mode.

You do an AMAZING job with the Skydio 2 videos!!!!!
Have had mine for a few months so far so awesome seams to be getting smarter if that's possible!
Episode 3: Things to do while you patiently wait for your Skydio 2 to arrive.
Great second episode! :D As someone who does this 6 days out of the week, it really nails everything you need to know about landing!
Beautiful
Keep these up! Mine should be made this month!!! Yeah!
Hand launching or landing makes me nervous but I’m going to try it next time!
Let us know how it goes!
Can't wait to get mine.
I don't own a skydio but still like to watch

Generally this is up to you. If you are comfortable with hand-catching and it is not overly windy you should be fine.
Hi Nicole just to clarify, I believe during landing obstacle avoidance is not activated, correct?
That is correct.
@@Skydio Merci
Still not available in Indonesia, no plan for expansion?

🙏 I'm from Thailand i can order sky dio2+ which way
Your awesome young lady 👩✈️🤠😳🧐
What is procedure if iPhone battery dies while flying?
If you set a home point on the map within the Skydio 2 app and are tracking a subject, Skydio 2 will continue to follow the subject for 20 seconds, or until the vehicle needs to return home due to a low battery (whichever occurs first). After tracking has stopped, Skydio 2 will return to the home point.

When NOT following a subject
If home point is set:
Skydio 2 will return to the home point you have set.
Great !! ;o)
Top🇧🇷🙏

Safe setup and operation should prevent most accidents and emergency landings!
@@Skydio Most but not all, can there be a way to abort an emergency landing?

It's just dumb. Why would they not add landing pods or something...?
Don’t forget to wear a leather glove when hand landing….you’ll thank me later lol
