@Бармен Серьёзная предъява. 1. По сути претензии видно, что человек молод и понятия не имеет о металлообработке, в частности кузнечным процессом. 2.На какой минуте ты видел фрезер? 3. Пункт 2 подтверждает пункт 1. 4. Следовательно если я в 85-м работал на судоремонте то ты для меня юноша. 5. Не понимание основ процесса и апломб критики говорит о юношеском максимализме также. 6. Дамаск так ковали всегда, что во времена Древнего Рима, что сегодня. Пакет из разноуглеродистых сталей.
Таки знаешь иной метод?

And your point is? Alec does the same thing on his UA-cam channel. He just shows how its done from a different perspective. Just like there may be a 1000 videos on how to make paper airplanes, and every one of them will be different even if they are on the same design. Don't hate on someone's video just because you dont like it. Just choose to not watch it instead of wasting your time and energy to bad mouth it. Just my opinion.

Love the blade colouring, it's something that I have done making chisels before, heating from the middle till you get the light straw colour at the tip for super hardness. But, I have never done it with blades, and I suppose for show type blades, it makes sense. It's not like you are going to be doing bushcraft stuff with one of these beautifully crafted blades.
Gives me something to consider in my shop, thank you for the inspiration Sir. And as always, keep on making those fantastic blades 😀

So in your opinion, would the "blue" get removed with sharpening?
I mean, would it (the blue color) only be on the surface, or would that "layer" of metal be blue all the way through?
Never knew that but had a hunch from this vide that could be the case. Any information somewhere regarding what color for what temp?
@@ChemicallyEnabledMan Yes the colour would be removed after grinding, i am not 100% sure how deep the colour goes, but it seems to be only on the surface

wow so much work but so worth it in the end with a beautiful blue blade hue, and the shapes in the steel look awesome Damascus steel is amazing for blades just bought a partial blue wooden pocket with Damascus steel blade and its truly way more than a knife... it is a piece of art!

Trabalho em uma fábrica de facas, usamos aço martensistico SAE 420 e peças que são polidas antes da tempera , ficam com tom azulado após ser temperado, mas não tão azul assim.

Единственный момент, который меня смущает - по идее оксидная пленка обладает не очень высокой износостойкостью, что с ней станет после нескольких месяцев использования?
