Its a shock to see supurb acting again. I've never seen this. Wonderful, talented cast. Reagan, Geraldine, Pernel, and the rest, I love them! Refreshing compared to todays offerings. TY for sharing this.💞❤
He began the deterioration of public services that led to mass homeless people living in cities and the deterioration of our economy that we're still paying for to this very day. My children are probably never going to own their own homes and it's because of what Reagan started and today's Republicans are continuing. Reagan was a horrible president.
Originally telecast on April 6, 1958 [this version is without the original opening and closing titles, commercials, and Reagan's remarks and "plugs" for G.E.]. As the host of the series, Reagan would also appear- occasionally- in a leading or supporting role in the stories. Young Gavin MacLeod is "Henry".....

Yes, he closed the mental hospitals and now the sick wander the streets and live in tents. Or just sleep on the street. He made the rich richer, so, yay....
Ronald Reagan as you've never seen him before! He kind of reprised this in The Killers, his last film (and he hated the role, lol). Thanks for posting! I was looking for a GE True episode called The Wrong Nickle and saw the thumbnail in my search and asked myself, is that Reagan?
Did I understand you to say a Catholic priest would never be in a room with a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary ? Wherever did you get such an idea, it's not correct
RR was no slouch at all as an Actor. You simply do not survive over a quarter of a Century in Hollywood without some real talent for the craft. While he never won an Oscar,, he was no bit part actor working wherever he could. He was a leading man at Top Studio Warner Bros. for many years. As to him always being labeled a "B-Actor", most Actors do "B" films as only a few pictures are made as "A's" each year. This is not to say that he did not appear in "A"s as Reagan did have supporting or co-lead roles in movies that were nominated for "Best Picture" in the Academy Awards and he worked with many of the top stars of his era in the "Golden Age of Hollywood". However, since he made a lot of $ for the studios in light romantic comedies and some Westerns, he did get somewhat stuck in roles that did not require great acting range and depth. GE Theatre was great for him because he got to do some more varied and meatier roles when he appeared as an Actor on the show. RR did over 30 different episodes as an Actor on this very popular show, in addition to always hosting and narrating the show. In 1961, he got his Star on Hollywood, still well before his political career was launched.

RR appeared as the lead in 35 episodes over the 8 years of the series, more than any other actor.
Thankyou Ilike to see Pernell Roberts in differrents parts.
He helped dry out Adam Cartwright and Capt. Subing.
amazing how dumb we have gotten since this film was made
Great acting by Reagan, no doubt because it came from personal experience. Not his own, but his father's: Jack Reagan was an alcoholic.
As was his second wife Nancy.
@@pixie3760 Nancy Reagan wasn't a drinker, fool.
Purnell Roberts, so handsome and Ronald Regan. They were great.
And then he became ....president! I love Ron Reagan.

This had to be a hard role for Reagan to play considering his own father was an alcoholic.

9:53. The so-called Catholic priest is wearing a Protestant collar and they would never be in a church with the Blessed Virgin. The collar is WRONG.

As an actor, he was a stiff Terrible actor. Especially when he acted like he didn't sell arms to our enemies or raise taxes eleven times.
If only Ronald Reagan had jumped....
Poor Grace, Reagan has been out of office for 26 years. Get over it.
Nurse Grace. If only your dad had pulled out.
