This one is just a quicky. A pretty simple song but it ROCKS! It is a bit boring on the drums but I've always liked The Cars, especially Ben Orr's tunes (RIP). I didn't really practice too much for this cover, I'm just playing it from memory, so it might not be as polished as my other covers. It was just spur of the moment...but sometimes a quicky is a good thing!!

Perfect rendition! You never "overplay" and you never "underplay". Please post more songs by The Cars! Would love to see "You're all I've Got Tonight", "Candy-O" or maybe "Touch and Go". Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks! It depends on the song! This one is was pretty easy. Sometimes ya just have to listen to the song a few times and it's tattooed in your brain. Other times, you really have to dig in and learn the parts and practice them until you can play them cleanly, as in the case of Hot For Teacher or Radar Love which took a few months of to really get down until I was satisfied.
I use Promark 747s Neil Peart signature sticks. These sticks don't come with Nylon tips. I've used nylon tips in the past but find i like the sound of the wood tip better on the ride cymbal.

Have you thought about some Mexican music,please check out some Montez De Durango,Alacranes Musicalor Trono de Mexico,Im a white boy but its some great music,would think a lot harder drums.on montez @ alacranes the older music is better.

I've got some Rush tines on my channel...Tom Sawyer, Freewill, Spirit of Radio and YYZ. I keep meaning to do Tom Sawyer and YYZ over again because they were two of my first videos and i was just experimenting.

I'm using a Zildjian 16" crash, Sabian 18" crash, Zildjian 22" inch ride, 16" Wuhan China, 14" Sabian AA HiHats. I also have a 10" Sabian B8 Splash, not seen in this video.

Nice cover but if you are going for accuracy the intro is hi-hat and snare on the accents, not flams on the snare

Thanks! Yeah, you're right. I realized that after I posted the video. Someone else pointed that out so I listened a little more carefully to the song.
Don't know yet, I was thinking of doing something quirky like the Scooby Doo Theme and then at the end someone rips off my mask and it's Cobus...LOL!!
