@@HugoStiglitz88 WipeOut on PSVR was pretty amazing. While it didn't fully feel like the original games, (something off about the way your ships moved) it was still pretty sweet. What surprised me is that a game that moves like this, I thought was for sure to lose my lunch. Never got a single bit of motion sickness from it at all.
Yes, Golem would be a great addition to the psvr2 catalogue. (I played it on psvr1 with the inclination movement and ds4 in the other hand. Both worked for me okay enough. When using the inclination based movement scheme, one could also just step in one direction instead of leaning in one direction). I also would like to see on psvr2; hitman, astrobot, wipeout, battlezone, blood and truth, here they lie, fracked, golem, l.a. noir (maybe the full game ?), (Last guardian the full game) And it would be cool if also the following would be on psvr2: ghost giant, deraciné, transference, bound, pyschonauts, vader immortal (really liked the dojo of the 1st episode), robinson: the journey (since it is only playable on ps4(pro)+psvr1).

Might be because I hear things others don't, might be a quantum effect, might be simply not true , but I hear everyone screaming when they're in PSVR2 all over the world, it's like a continuous screaming goat sound! These free PSVR2 games on PS Plus have been remarkable for me using it more, & I'm loving it. Bought some Synth Riders DLC & been sweating ever since. Thankful for what y'all do here, always. 💯
Unfortunately, there are not many PSVR2 games that interest me. So, while I like my VR, I hardly ever touch it. I'm EXTREMELY glad they are doing a PC adapter soon. I'll finally get more use out of it on PC since there are many more games I'm interested in there. I can't say the PS5 is lacking too much in VR games. They've added a decent amount at a decent rate. Just hardly ever one I care about

My headset has green lines in occasional dark scenes (intro to re8, and various pause menus) and the lenses are not equal at low brightness at all. Left lens has blind spots. Mura looks atrocious, no detail. Looks like an oil smear all over the screen. Impossible to ignore. This is my third headset. Sonys quality control is abysmal, idk if I’m just stuck recycling refurbished sets from a bad batch.. there’s no way this is normal.
5:28 Oh man, that reminder of Star Child hit hard. Such a promising demo and the main reason i got a PS VR back in the day after trying it at a friend's house. Of course playing PS VR turned out to be my favorite time with VR ever even without Star Child, but that promise of side-scrolling metroidvania in VR never ceased to grab my imagination

You nailed it dude --- there's no way that's normal. Sorry to hear it, I'm sure getting defective headset after defective headset feels awful and has zapped any passion you might have for it. Hopefully you're still under warranty.

I don't understand why people say it's dead. I feel like it's very much alive. There is so so so much life left. I feel like it's just getting started especially with the graphic fedelity. I wish that the Matrix Demo would have been made into a Psvr2 demo.

I don't need it to be mainstream, just healthy enough that we keep on getting this consistent flow of excellent, interesting titles we've had since launch. My backlog is already overwhelming 😂
@@WithoutParoleNot dead, but you have to admit, Sony repeatedly show that they have very little interest in their own headset. It has made a lot of people (myself included) lose faith in them.
VR isn't mainstream so we can't expect big budget mainstream games. The games we do get instead may be smaller but they hail from a cauldron rich in creativity from developers with a genuine passion. I don't know how much $$$ Sony contributes nowadays (I've heard both ways) but as chief gamecat Bryan has said many times, we would not have received Resident Evil VR modes if not for Sony's chequebook. Fingers-crossed we continue to do so but I love the innovation that comes from indies too.

It's a mystery. We've never seen gameplay (or even a screenshot.) And worse, the dev team behind it doesn't have the best pedigree. They're the same team that made Twilight Zone VR. So I'm not super hopeful for this one honestly
People are reporting the PSVR 2 is over. Truth is ... Sony is just doing exactly what they did for PSVR 1. Giving another pathway for Independent developers and 3rd party developers to adopt the Playstation brand as a potential market. Sony released both systems with a few first party games to get people interested and then depends on the independent and 3rd party developers to ship units. I think marketing is wrong because the Quest doesn't need you to spend $500 on a system and another $300 on a headset. If the headset was dead. Sony would never have developed a way to get the thing working on a PC.
The difference is, when Sony launched the PS1, they had very few first-party game studios, as they were just entering the games industry. Now they're the industry leader, with 20 first-party studios, many of which are capable of producing multiple games simultaneously. Also the PS1 was a technological marvel beyond even what most people's PCs were capable of those days. It was ahead of the curve in the direction the whole industry (or near enough) wanted to move, and at a market leading price point. Its appeal/advantages were easy to convey to the public, even through low resolution screenshots in magazines, while VR is difficult to market to anyone who hasn't played it already, even with high definition video on the internet. Furthermore, everyone knew that Sony was making more games for the PS1, and they aggressively pursued buyouts of companies like Psygnosis to bolster their first-party output to support their hardware. At this point, nobody knows if Sony is making any more PSVR 2 games. Also, PS1 was well marketed, and immediately successful. The two situations aren't comparable.
How did you get to $300 on the headset? PSVR2 costs €600 Or is that the price for the quest? It's fair to say, PSVR2 is too expensive to really get a good user base, it'll take time but I don't think Sony has given up on it. Hopefully they're also working on an Astrobot VR2 game!!!

@@Alien_isolationist 1) Walking was added to Half Life Alyx shortly after launch. It's been there for years. 2) What has Meta done? Sold 4x the number of headsets Sony has. And to be clear, I fucking hate Meta, and I love my PSVR 1, but that's just the reality of it. Meta has invested billions more in VR than Sony has. They've funded more games and have come far closer to mainstream acceptance of VR than Sony has. If not for the high install base of the Quest 2, many VR developers would've gone out of business as the Quest 2 is the only platform they've made a profit on. That's why most VR games are build for the Quest 2 first, then ported elsewhere. I wish Sony was the market leader with PSVR 2, but frankly they haven't earned that position. Oh and it's awfully presumptive to assume RE9 will support PSVR 2. Sony paid Capcom to port RE8 and RE4 Remake to PSVR 2, so a RE9 VR mode will probably only happen if Sony pays for it. And the contracts for the RE8 and 4 Remake ports were probably signed before PSVR 2 even launched (or maybe shortly after), so they were done without knowing how PSVR 2 would perform. Will Sony sign another deal like that at this point? Two well made ports of critically acclaimed RE games hasn't made the PSVR 2 a massive success, why would Sony think a third one would change anything? If they won't even make their own software hybrid at this point (Astro Bot), what makes you think they're paying Capcom to do it with their future games?

Hi got a question that i was hoping someone could help, got psvr2 recently (already have a psvr and quest 2 so already know vr) but been having ghosting issues when I move my head. My vision is clear, red matter looked amazing, but if I move my head side to side slowly objects seem to wobble slightly. I just got kayak vr on ps premium and noticed how bad it was as when on the costa rica beach the trees in the distance the ghosting seems to move about 5-10 ft side to side. I have tried with & without glasses, 1 eye closed, reset play area with sticker notes on the walls, used an infrared light reset the eye tracking 6 times but nothing has made a difference. Am I doing something wrong or do you think there is something wrong with my headset. Also when playing humanity in vr, it kept crashing (as well as freezing the ps5) on the first level you get follow command when I reached the goal. This didn't happen on any other level though. Any coments would be appreciated
Not sure what your crashing issue is in Humanity, but to me it sounds like the ghosting you are seeing is called reprojection. It's not the headset or your fault. It's just Sony's shit software they are using that interpolates or injects fake frames into games to make them run smoother. The ghosting you are seeing is the fake frame as you move, usually can be seen laterally. They said they are working on a fix, but Sony being Sony. who knows when. Don't worry, though. Not all games have this issue, and I think Kayak is one of the worst offenders for it. Red Matter 1 and 2 both run at native 120 fps, so you wont see it there. What you are experiencing with that is probably some tracking issues. Recalibrate your headset, and make sure you have objects in your room that the camera can pick up as a reference. If you are staring at a blank wall, you'll expeience some wobble.
Could be reprojection but considering the games you mentioned it’s probably just persistence from the OLED panels. Try turning the brightness down in your headset to 50% and see if that helps
I'm not sure about the crashing. But the rest sounds like reprojection and/or the OLED screen persistence. In games like Kayak or Gran Turismo or other bigger games, the PS5 can't output a native 90 or 120 fps to match the headset refresh rate. So the game runs at like 60fps and inserts fake frames to make it look smoother. But this adds ghosting and stuff. Some games look worse than others. And there's nothing you can do to help it, unfortunately. If the game can't run at 90 or 120fps, you're gonna have that issue. For games you mention that do run at 90 or 120fps, like Red Matter 2, whatever weird visual effects you're seeing is probably screen persistence. You can help reduce it's effects by turning the headset brightness down. It should clear up some. Unfortunately these are two big problems effecting the PSVR2. Some are more sensitive to them than others.
@@WithoutParole thanks for the reply, I have even tried 0 brightness and it is still very noticeable on kayak, like a moving shadow. It's basically the further away the item is the more noticeable it is. I even see the wobble on the ps home screen. And thanks to the others for the very well written and informative replies. Makes me think kayak shouldn't have been a game they put on ps premium, as it will scare people off (totally unplayable for me on wide open maps.
🎉 im going to load Kayak Costa rica, and see if i can see what u see, i have higher then 20/20 without glasses and can easily see 1080p or 4k tv issues at a distance for fun at retail stores Lol. Used to shoot bottle caps out of the air for fun when i lived on a farm back in the day, so i definitetly have better then avg eyes. ...But Before i do tho, which level in costa rica, and can you see it at the beginning of the level - or is there a spot where it gets even worse. Thanks also do you make sure the "adjust visibility" button on the ps5 start button menu that checks your eyes to make sure the headset is on your head level is used each time u put on the psvr2. (sony should have made that pop-up automatically each time a headset is put on, to avoid most of these issues for VR new players). It helps so much and i click it every time i put the headset on. u dont need to "adjust eyetracking" except the first time, but "adjust visibility" is super important to do everytime.

The toxic hatred of PSVR2 is ar an all time high and is as intolerable as the East Coast heat right now. Can’t wait for the PS5 Pro to boost PSVR2 to the next level.
I must say, I just have no interest in mixed reality at the moment. Who knows if that will change at some point, but it just doesn't do anything I want or need at the moment. And, as a music producer by profession, all of these great shots of people manipulating their music software by gesturing in the air... well... unless you grew up deaf with sign language as your only means of communication, who the hell has that kind of mid-air precision with their fingers? And how, exactly, is that better than the mouse and trackpad? Maybe one day that will change, but for now... give me the real world and VR over mixed reality, any day. ps As if people don't have enough trouble separating the real world from the fake as it is, without combining and blurring the Iines between them in front of our face 24/7!
@@Alien_isolationist yet they still don’t sell replacement controllers. It only has 1 year warranty and the controllers internals being mostly plastic they are prone to stick drift. I supported and trusted Sony and bought it at launch. Controller has stick drift now and only way to replace it is buy an entire new headset bundle.

@@lycan881Not yet available as far as I know in the US. That price isn't too bad, roughly $70 US currency per controller. The Move controllers were sold as a set for the PSVR1 for $100 USD and the sense controllers are way more advanced for only $20 more per controller. Hopefully the option to buy them shows up here soon as well.

Already Dead game, assuming it’s the same game as the trailer footage, looks like it was designed on a 90s graphics card. I’d be surprised if turns out good, and I’ve yet to be wrong based on footage alone.

VRSO Bare Knuckle needs to add arms. You can’t block with 2 tiny fist and it also ruins the immersion. You can’t do bare knuckle without a full arm.

I don't understand why people say it's dead. I feel like it's very much alive. There is so so so much life left. I feel like it's just getting started especially with the graphic fedelity. I wish that the Matrix Demo would have been made into a Psvr2 demo.

I don't need it to be mainstream, just healthy enough that we keep on getting this consistent flow of excellent, interesting titles we've had since launch. My backlog is already overwhelming 😂
@@WithoutParoleNot dead, but you have to admit, Sony repeatedly show that they have very little interest in their own headset. It has made a lot of people (myself included) lose faith in them.
VR isn't mainstream so we can't expect big budget mainstream games. The games we do get instead may be smaller but they hail from a cauldron rich in creativity from developers with a genuine passion. I don't know how much $$$ Sony contributes nowadays (I've heard both ways) but as chief gamecat Bryan has said many times, we would not have received Resident Evil VR modes if not for Sony's chequebook. Fingers-crossed we continue to do so but I love the innovation that comes from indies too.

It's a mystery. We've never seen gameplay (or even a screenshot.) And worse, the dev team behind it doesn't have the best pedigree. They're the same team that made Twilight Zone VR. So I'm not super hopeful for this one honestly

PSVR2 was good for the 1 year it lasted. RE4, RE8, Horizon and GT7 are better than anything on Quest.

Golem looked good, but I hated the gameplay loop with single-use items, felt like a mobile game mechanic.
People are reporting the PSVR 2 is over. Truth is ... Sony is just doing exactly what they did for PSVR 1. Giving another pathway for Independent developers and 3rd party developers to adopt the Playstation brand as a potential market.
Sony released both systems with a few first party games to get people interested and then depends on the independent and 3rd party developers to ship units.
I think marketing is wrong because the Quest doesn't need you to spend $500 on a system and another $300 on a headset.
If the headset was dead. Sony would never have developed a way to get the thing working on a PC.
The difference is, when Sony launched the PS1, they had very few first-party game studios, as they were just entering the games industry. Now they're the industry leader, with 20 first-party studios, many of which are capable of producing multiple games simultaneously.
Also the PS1 was a technological marvel beyond even what most people's PCs were capable of those days. It was ahead of the curve in the direction the whole industry (or near enough) wanted to move, and at a market leading price point. Its appeal/advantages were easy to convey to the public, even through low resolution screenshots in magazines, while VR is difficult to market to anyone who hasn't played it already, even with high definition video on the internet.
Furthermore, everyone knew that Sony was making more games for the PS1, and they aggressively pursued buyouts of companies like Psygnosis to bolster their first-party output to support their hardware. At this point, nobody knows if Sony is making any more PSVR 2 games.
Also, PS1 was well marketed, and immediately successful. The two situations aren't comparable.

It's fair to say, PSVR2 is too expensive to really get a good user base, it'll take time but I don't think Sony has given up on it. Hopefully they're also working on an Astrobot VR2 game!!!

@@Alien_isolationist 1) Walking was added to Half Life Alyx shortly after launch. It's been there for years. 2) What has Meta done? Sold 4x the number of headsets Sony has.
And to be clear, I fucking hate Meta, and I love my PSVR 1, but that's just the reality of it. Meta has invested billions more in VR than Sony has. They've funded more games and have come far closer to mainstream acceptance of VR than Sony has. If not for the high install base of the Quest 2, many VR developers would've gone out of business as the Quest 2 is the only platform they've made a profit on. That's why most VR games are build for the Quest 2 first, then ported elsewhere. I wish Sony was the market leader with PSVR 2, but frankly they haven't earned that position.
Oh and it's awfully presumptive to assume RE9 will support PSVR 2. Sony paid Capcom to port RE8 and RE4 Remake to PSVR 2, so a RE9 VR mode will probably only happen if Sony pays for it. And the contracts for the RE8 and 4 Remake ports were probably signed before PSVR 2 even launched (or maybe shortly after), so they were done without knowing how PSVR 2 would perform. Will Sony sign another deal like that at this point? Two well made ports of critically acclaimed RE games hasn't made the PSVR 2 a massive success, why would Sony think a third one would change anything? If they won't even make their own software hybrid at this point (Astro Bot), what makes you think they're paying Capcom to do it with their future games?

Hi got a question that i was hoping someone could help, got psvr2 recently (already have a psvr and quest 2 so already know vr) but been having ghosting issues when I move my head.
My vision is clear, red matter looked amazing, but if I move my head side to side slowly objects seem to wobble slightly.
I just got kayak vr on ps premium and noticed how bad it was as when on the costa rica beach the trees in the distance the ghosting seems to move about 5-10 ft side to side.
I have tried with & without glasses, 1 eye closed, reset play area with sticker notes on the walls, used an infrared light reset the eye tracking 6 times but nothing has made a difference.
Am I doing something wrong or do you think there is something wrong with my headset.
Also when playing humanity in vr, it kept crashing (as well as freezing the ps5) on the first level you get follow command when I reached the goal. This didn't happen on any other level though.
Any coments would be appreciated
Not sure what your crashing issue is in Humanity, but to me it sounds like the ghosting you are seeing is called reprojection. It's not the headset or your fault. It's just Sony's shit software they are using that interpolates or injects fake frames into games to make them run smoother. The ghosting you are seeing is the fake frame as you move, usually can be seen laterally. They said they are working on a fix, but Sony being Sony. who knows when. Don't worry, though. Not all games have this issue, and I think Kayak is one of the worst offenders for it.
Red Matter 1 and 2 both run at native 120 fps, so you wont see it there. What you are experiencing with that is probably some tracking issues. Recalibrate your headset, and make sure you have objects in your room that the camera can pick up as a reference. If you are staring at a blank wall, you'll expeience some wobble.
Could be reprojection but considering the games you mentioned it’s probably just persistence from the OLED panels. Try turning the brightness down in your headset to 50% and see if that helps
I'm not sure about the crashing.
But the rest sounds like reprojection and/or the OLED screen persistence.
In games like Kayak or Gran Turismo or other bigger games, the PS5 can't output a native 90 or 120 fps to match the headset refresh rate.
So the game runs at like 60fps and inserts fake frames to make it look smoother. But this adds ghosting and stuff.
Some games look worse than others. And there's nothing you can do to help it, unfortunately.
If the game can't run at 90 or 120fps, you're gonna have that issue.
For games you mention that do run at 90 or 120fps, like Red Matter 2, whatever weird visual effects you're seeing is probably screen persistence.
You can help reduce it's effects by turning the headset brightness down. It should clear up some.
Unfortunately these are two big problems effecting the PSVR2.
Some are more sensitive to them than others.

It's basically the further away the item is the more noticeable it is.
I even see the wobble on the ps home screen.

🎉 im going to load Kayak Costa rica, and see if i can see what u see, i have higher then 20/20 without glasses and can easily see 1080p or 4k tv issues at a distance for fun at retail stores Lol. Used to shoot bottle caps out of the air for fun when i lived on a farm back in the day, so i definitetly have better then avg eyes.

also do you make sure the "adjust visibility" button on the ps5 start button menu that checks your eyes to make sure the headset is on your head level is used each time u put on the psvr2. (sony should have made that pop-up automatically each time a headset is put on, to avoid most of these issues for VR new players). It helps so much and i click it every time i put the headset on. u dont need to "adjust eyetracking" except the first time, but "adjust visibility" is super important to do everytime.

I must say, I just have no interest in mixed reality at the moment. Who knows if that will change at some point, but it just doesn't do anything I want or need at the moment. And, as a music producer by profession, all of these great shots of people manipulating their music software by gesturing in the air... well... unless you grew up deaf with sign language as your only means of communication, who the hell has that kind of mid-air precision with their fingers? And how, exactly, is that better than the mouse and trackpad? Maybe one day that will change, but for now... give me the real world and VR over mixed reality, any day. ps As if people don't have enough trouble separating the real world from the fake as it is, without combining and blurring the Iines between them in front of our face 24/7!

@@Alien_isolationist yet they still don’t sell replacement controllers. It only has 1 year warranty and the controllers internals being mostly plastic they are prone to stick drift.
I supported and trusted Sony and bought it at launch. Controller has stick drift now and only way to replace it is buy an entire new headset bundle.

@@lycan881Not yet available as far as I know in the US. That price isn't too bad, roughly $70 US currency per controller.
The Move controllers were sold as a set for the PSVR1 for $100 USD and the sense controllers are way more advanced for only $20 more per controller. Hopefully the option to buy them shows up here soon as well.
