Also drinking coffee doesn't replace your ability to also drink water.
Coffee isn’t so much a hydration issue. Cortisol spikes naturally to wake you up in AM. If you drink caffeine on the upslope of your cort. curve, you spike past natural high and you adapt over time to super physiological levels - where if you can wait an hour after waking up till the downside of that slope, you avoid caffeine dependency and preserve natural circadian function.

Here’s a very simple and easy fix: drink water before you drink the coffee
Slightly spaced out. Remember water needs time to be digested. Just like it’s much better to get hydrated before drinking alcohol than during to avoid a hangover due to dehydration

Yep, I start with an acv/lemon shot chased with water. 20 minutes later green tea then a coffee an hour after that. Then 2 more until 1-2pm when I stop and change to peppermint/ lemon and ginger.
It’s an awesome routine, perfect for everything. In perfect harmony with our bodies. Don’t get my started on my diet and supplement intake.
You should avoid drinking coffee as soon as you wake up. The role of caffeine in alertness and feeling awake is that it blocks adenosine receptors. If you have coffee within the first (roughly) 90 minutes of waking up, the adenosine hasn't been completely cleared - and since you blocked the receptors, the adenosine cannot be cleared. You end up reopening them in the middle of the day (when the caffeine wears off) and receive all the built up adenosine at once. This is what causes the mid day "crash". It has nothing to do with hydration.

Now I don't disagree with either of the videos, but I'd like to know where did both Sean or the other guy got their information from, regarding whether drinking coffee will make you more hydrated, or if filtering out the contents gunna take up more water than you consumed in a cup. Of course it also depends on how strong you make your coffee, and this applies to other drinks like tea... but yeah. Curious. I think both kinda spoke out of their ass

That’s not the main reason to avoid coffee in the morning, the main reason is due to the spike in cortisol your body naturally produces when you wake up. That’s typically why when you get up it’s hard to fall back asleep. If you add caffeine to that, it would make the crash harder.
You can drink coffee after 3 hours of you waking up, then you can actually see if you are truly tired due to the cortisol diminishing. If you are super tired you can drink coffee with 200 mg of L-Theanine and immediately take a quick power nap for 25-30 minutes at the same time, the power nap enables the caffeine in coffee to work better at blocking adenosine receptors along with the calmness that L-Theanine to help you be better productive.

3 hours after waking ??!! Well those will be 3 tough hours but we’ll worth to reap the benefits . I can’t believe I just discovered this . I also get jittery from American coffee so I swapped for European coffee . American coffee adds crap and the chemical structure changes which affects our mood and makes us jittery. Now that I switched to a European coffee I feel euphoria . If I’m on a anxious day I add raw cocoa powder to the coffee because cocoa contains theobromine) which a great compound to keep the nervous system in tract . Not to mention Caffeine no matter how high quality ! Will always deplete you from magnesium. Magnesium deficiency is so high in most Americans even the healthy ones . If u have low magnesium add raw cocoa to your coffee because cocoa or dark chocolate has load of magnesium. Which also keeps away the jitters .

@Dan Lyons same with me but they laugh because I don’t include protein powder like it’s a “must” . I get my protein through high food sources but nowadays if you don’t drink protein shake or pre workout they think it’s strange . They don’t know diversity.
I have tried giving up caffeine,
but haven't found anything other than coffee that enables me to train first thing in the morning

Not sure who's on the right in this one. Drinking coffee first thing is the morning is bad because is it replaces natural occuring rise in cortisol and can kinda interrupt the ciciliac rythym, also that way u get resistance to caffeine much easier. On top of that, adenosine blockage will lead to the energy crash you will feel 6-8 hours after drinking coffe (I'd recommend drinking it 0.5-2 hours after waking up) sorry for bad english but I hope I helped
I've just drank cofee with milk, cinnamon, mct oil and honey and i'm not sure if i even felt the crash. Not sure why exactly i didin't feel it.

I've been listening to a podcast by Andrew Huberman, he's a neuroscientist, he talked about this and said that its not the best thing to drink coffee as soon as you wake up, reason is that your brain releases a pulse of cortisol and other chemicals to help you get in a state of alertness, the coffee will delay this pulse causing some issues with sleep and other stuff, you guys should go and listen to him I probably cut too short the explanation besides my english is really bad, still love Sean content

It doesn't dehydrate you but if you drink it first thing it can lead to an energy crash around midday, Andrew Huberman talked about the science behind it. Apparently waiting 90 mins after waking is best practice to avoid crashes.
That makes zero sense. Because I wait some time doesnt allow time to avoid a crash. It just depends on your dependency on coffee and how we react to the caffeine. Some people get crashes some dont. I dont get crashes but that's just me

You don't stop crashing from having caffeine later, you just delay the crash 😅 . So the solution is have another cup of coffee. Over time , your dependence will increase and u will be having more and more caffeine where u need to cycle of it to become sensitive to caffeine again

I personally never drink coffee so I don't get desensitized to the molecule, so when I really need it (for pre workout or when I doing very long drive for work after a 90h shift week), the shit actually works crazy well.

Try black coffee.
That's not because of the coffee itself but because of the fiber it has. Will happen the same if you eat a couple of apples for instance. Just that the coffee is faster because it's liquid.
Side note, also having some oxidated coffee (stored in a hot place, grounded to long ago, filthy machine, etc) will cause you diarrhea...
@@marius-9333 I had a lot of darrhea when I was drinking too much coffee. Now I make a lighter coffee and drink only 500ml (with 30g of coffee powder) a day, no more diarrhea and when I went to de gym I only need 70mg of caffeine to get hyped.

You're probably just generally dehydrated from 8 hours of sleep with no water. Dehydration from coffee doesn't happen instantly that you begin drinking it. Unless ur drinking coffee that is much stronger than all the coffees they tested. U do have a net gain of water. Maybe you just need more water first.

I love this. first thing i do upon rising is get a cup of coffee, get out in the sunlight and ground myself. Hit the gym and then slowly drop energy throughout the day.
With a proper diet and not junk food you’ll find that your energy levels won’t crash soon as the caffeine wears off anyway, it’s a great way to boost mental performance and energy first thing
It’s definitely helped me loads getting into new sleeping routines, especially when I work shifts

The real issue with drinking coffee in the morning is really just the fact you build a tolerance to caffeine and may slowly for a dependence if overused. Other than that no harm 🤷♂️

I’ve never understood coffee. Stains your teeth, breath smells bad, and it’s useless extra caffeine (especially if you’re already taking pre) that makes your tolerance higher which is never good. Plus people become addicted to it and can’t function in the morning without. I’d rather not add coffee to my vices.

All you need to do is this when you make your coffee in your coffee maker cup add lemon juice and three black tea or green tea with water, you will feel rehydrated , light sugar could teaspoons of sugar to your liking, benefits of coffee and black tea and lemon juice or green tea she is filled with plenty of antioxidants , some of us feel very sluggish when first wake up morning or afternoon or evening, inside drinking plain water ain't good enough, anyone who owns V8 Muscle Car or V8 sports car that uses E85 gas it's for your body I would rather drink coffee with black tea and green tea and lemon juice. Dehydration due to caffeine consumption happen between 550-575mg of caffeine/day. A standard cup (not a mug) of coffee has roughly 40mg of caffeine in it.
So as long as you drink less than 14-15 cups of coffee a day (assuming that it is your only income of caffeine during that day), your coffees will hydrate you ! Past that threshold, you should drink more water and/or less caffeine

You're wrong on this one SN. Not only caffeine is diuretic (the amount of liquid in one cup is negligible) but you need to wait 2 hours after waking up to drink it so you don't mess with your hormones. Check the references shared by Andrew Huberman.
