The character said so in that courtroom scene in Daredevil.
This is amazing I just got an oversized hardcover of Punisher max last month at a comic con in my local city and it was marked half off for $20 I’m really hoping one day we can see it because the story is next level.
Well since the new predator movie came out with its violent and gory stuff, I believe that Disney plus will now have the opportunity to make the punisher as violent as possible 🙏 so I'm keen to see how it goes on Disney plus
Now we just need Jessica Jones, and then I’ll be happy. As crappy as Defenders was, my favorite part of Marvel’s entire Netflix run was Matt’s and Jessica’s banter
l truly hope both DareDevil and The Punisher come back as they were done as both were incredible shows done with great care & love and it would be a crime to destroy their legacy with watered down shows.
John Berthal said himself he wouldn't come back for a watered down show. Hopefully they do the right thing. The original is on Disney + so it should work.
Amazing video and so damn true. I would be so disappointed if Marvel tones down the Punisher. Oh and I tagged you on IG a toy photo I did months ago…I think you’ll find it amusing.
they put the original punisher show on Disney +, so they could do it if they want to. they just can't make it super connected to anything else, because a lot of younger people won't be able to watch it. it can be done though
What would be your wish for plot? I have zero interest in a Reboot, and tbh was a bit burned out by the end of the last season on netflix, so what would be a worthy story line to adapt for a fresh continuation of Bernthal's Punisher?
Those edits Disney+ did for The Falcon & Winter soldier show a while back, which was intended as a test for parental settings, could lead to show like Punisher thriving.
not sure if its the same in the US, but here in the UK - Disney plus has different age ranges and some shows are not available unless you've set your account to show 18+, Deadpool for example is only available if you've set your account to display 18+ content. I mention this because I think Disney are all ready set up to create and show 18+ content.
@@FrankCastle65 There are storylines from the books where Frank A) steals the War Machine Armor, and fights the Avengers; and B) Gets the powers of the Ghost Rider and the Silver Surfer, and becomes Cosmic Ghost Rider. He also gets a War Machine version of the Hulkbuster at some point.
Solid commentary. If anyone thinks Disney+ is going to have a Punisher series as he was portrayed on Netflix. They're fooling themselves. I have no faith they'll do Daredevil any better.
I think it was only a matter of time before Disney + got it’s more mature section. They already added more parental controls and with Deadpool, Blade, Punisher, Kingpin and Daredevil, hell even Jake Lockley they’ll really be able to let these characters shine in their own lane

I was expecting the Original Netflix shows to be on Hulu. Since those are, surprisingly, on D+. (after you accept the parental settings) I would expect punisher to be on the same Netflix rated R level or hopefully 🤞it'll be rated R on the MCU level. That would be wicked. Seeing Kingpin decapitate an Avenger in an Avengers movie. Whole nother level of movie right there!
i think they will end up making it similar to the netflix show just to appease expectations. they understand how fans will react. but they’ve also slowly started subtly rolling in more violence, which still isn’t up to netflix levels but it’s getting there. we saw bits of it in moon knight and in multiverse of madness. i think the biggest indication that the shows will eventually get like that is the netflix shows even being added. if they’re added on to disney plus than what is the difference between them making another show like that. and will bernthal even agree to a script that isn’t showing how punisher is meant to be displayed? they also may run into issues if they try to incorporate characters like spider man into the show who have already been established as characters who aren’t as violent
I agree with literally everything you stated here… and while I obviously have my doubts, the one thing, that gives me even a shred of optimism, is that they actually put that quality, hyper violent show On Disney+. And so, since it’s already THERE, it would honestly be complete and utter nonsense to bring back Jon Bernthal to make THEIR Punisher show where he’s just shaking his finger at criminals like “hey pal, you better not! 😂🤦♂️. But, then again, I guess I wouldn’t put anything past Disney 🤷♂️
I believe her. I think we all saw MyTimeToShineHello say he’s coming back and gone “well…he’s coming back then”. Now, I do believe he is coming back in 2024 which is the rumour which makes the most sense because he could be in so many stuff. He could be in Daredevil: Born Again which would be great but I would actually not do that. I’d have him in Captain America: New World Order and then recruited in a post credit scene for the Thunderbolts. There was a cool image online of some fan art of a Punisher War Machine suit. I’d love to see that. My theory. Either Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America 4 or Thunderbolts. I do like the idea of him in Captain America 4, one guy is built around a symbol and the other is not and doesn’t care about the American hope and just wants to kill the awful people in the world. There is a really exciting dynamic they could have with Sam and Frank.
Its not really the killing and hardcore nature of the Punisher that made Daredevil great...sure those things add to it...but its the conversations and philosophy that NEEDS to be maintained. I think you are correct on this one.
Honestly, as much as I loved Bernthal as The Punisher, I believe the MCU role that he's actually perfect for would the recasting of Wolverine. He has everything perfect for Wolverine, the voice, the ruff around the edges looks, he's not too tall, and he looks good with facial hair, which is not something I could say about the fan favorite casting of Taron Edgerton as wolverine (I hate that idea actually). He's the guy who should be at the top of the list for HJ Wolverine replacements, I honestly think he could give Jackman a run for his money because Bernthal is actually a great actor.
D+ age locks everything behind parental controls... the full Netflix series are on there, along with Logan and DP. That is the least of my worries about the show. My main worry is whether or not they have the ability to produce the Frank Castle we WANT to see.
I 100% agree, the Punisher series needs an R/TV-MA rating to be done right. Hell, there's a few other projects that Marvel is coming out with or have released that either should be or should have been R/TV-MA (Blade, Thunderbolts, Daredevil: Born Again, Moon Knight, Multiverse of Madness), but Marvel's hesitant to make R-rated content aside from Deadpool 3 and Marvel Zombies, despite the success of their competitors in the comic book and superhero scene with R-rated content in things like Peacemaker and Walking Dead and the Boys and Invincible, the game has changed, the fans have grown up, and Marvel is still playing Yahtzee while everyone else is playing Monopoly. that's probably one of the big reasons Phase 4 isn't as successful as the others, because Marvel isn't playing to their audience, rather than giving the fans things for their age group they are only continuing with their more family friendly content, and I'm not saying they should give up on that, but they also need to have content for the older fans that have been with them for 14+ years since Iron Man 1, and many feel as though they aren't getting that. I know there's a lot of fan discussion and petitions and stuff going around about it, so I hope if Marvel is listening to the fans that this is one thing they listen to. I'm not saying everything Marvel should be R-rated, but there are things released and things coming in the next few years from Marvel that would benefit from being R/TV-MA.
They can always put it on hulu, i think thats where all their main series adult shows should go. Cross overs that are tone down can land on Disney + though.
Hmmm, i dunno. As an older viewer who quit reading comics for the most part (and Punisher specifically) around 8 years before Marvel Max was even launched, I have a different view of the character. from the 5 issue limited miniseries in 1986, to the sometimes sillier writing in the early 90's. The character was always dark, but not so dark Disney wouldn't be able to do THAT version justice... As to the Max run and later, I saw a few issues over the years and it didn't have the pull it did when i was a teenager. I thought the series was okay, but wasn't a huge fan of any of the Netflix series truly. We'll just have to see what Disney cooks up. My interest in the Marvel MOVIES was that like the comics that i read when i was younger, there was always a more positive and sometimes lighthearted spin. It's the reason that most of the DC movies and especially the Snyder verse stuff seemed to fall flat for me. Characters were so dark it wasn't "fun" to watch them. But dudes near 50 aren't the target demographic, nor are hardcore fans who want accurate recreations... somewhere more general is probably where they will fit it all together
Hey Rob what do you think about Giancarlo Esposito playing William Stryker in the MCU? Because everyone thinking him playing Doom or Professor X but I believe Stryker is perfect for him.
I think it could be possible, they’ve already put DP and Logan on D+ which is pretty mature for the platform. I’m more worried that they won’t put in effort to make it good
They're making Deadpool 3, a rated r film. They're also making a Marvel Zombies standalone show, which is TV-MA. Honestly, it could happen and I think it will
I think with Deadpool 3 being made under the Disney/Marvel name and it still being rated R will pave the way for Punisher, Blade Daredevil and hopefully Jake Lockley. Got a good laugh out of Disney making Punisher give the bad guys a stern talking to lol
Completely agree with Rob here, like it or not there are some characters and stories that dont work as a PG 13 , just look at Venom 2 (and one to some extent) , Deadpool (pg 13 version) and Hawkeye series , Disney needs to start to have some balls and have movies that are 13 and others that are 18+ because if things continue to be this bland and childish people will start losing interest, especially with the weak writhing they have been showing lately.
Introduce him during Deadpool 3 and do Deadpool vs the punisher. Deadpool pops into the mcu by whatever means and the us government hires frank to handle it. Would be awesome and opens the door for the brutal punisher we all want to see.
When you had videos on Deadpool joining and it was “without a doubt Rated R” and I was doubtful I got ridiculed. Now the Punisher is coming and being skeptical makes sense?
Punisher most likely won't be TV-PG, aren't the returns of the other Marvel Netflix shows already up on or are coming to Disney Plus? But even so we tend to confuse graphic with mature. We have crime dramas on network tv that deal with mature subject matter and themes, and they have no problem getting certain themes and messages across without graphic violence. We have shows like Law & Order which feature rape and all sorts of crimes that would be graphic or mature in nature it's just that the actual violent acts are either toned down or shown off screen, but we see the results. You'll see a dead body in an alley but you won't see exactly how it got in that condition, but you still get the overall message and theme. So a lack graphic violence won't take away from the story telling us who The Punisher is. And on the opposite end you have movies, game and shows like Mortal Kombat, who shows lots of graphic violence and content but isn't necessarily mature in terms of story and ideas and character. It's just blood and cuts. No seriously heinous crimes or deeply disturbed characters, no psychological drama or anything. Just think about of the most deepest psychological characters you've seen in cinema, they weren't all rated a hard R.
The only way Disney could pull shit off is by creating another streaming service or section in something that could let this live and where deadpool could live. If not, this is going to fail like their villians.
deadpool was recently added to disney plus, they have said marvel zombies is rumored to be rated r. Ryan reynolds isnt going to play deadpool again unless its R rated. I also see no world in which a blade movie isnt going to be R rated, especially after the disaster of morbius. The issue isnt whether or not it will fit on disney plus, but rather is there enough fans.
Just as she-hulk has the potencial of having a bunch of cameos and appearances of c-list heroes and villains seeking for legal counsel I think a night nurse show can be the same except with medical procedurals. It could be interesting. And yeah, I know this video is about the punisher, but what am I supposed to do, wait for a night nurse video to say that? That could take decades.
Thor L&T should have been R-rated as well... Cause of Gorr. Gorr should have been just as brutal as the Punisher, but a lot scarier too. They messed Thor up, and they'll probably mess this one up too. The only hope for me is the "Adult section" or whatever it's called on Disney+ where the access is blocked for kids. May be they'll come to their senses and start releasing some darker material there. I feel like with the introduction of Jake Lockley at the end of Moon Knight Season 1, Season 2 has the potential to be a lot darker and gruesome too. Daredevil too, of course
I am so excited to hear this news. I suspected it would happen but hearing it being officially announced (or what seems to be a accidental leak from Rosario Dawson). Frank is the guy who goes around everyday, looking for an excuse to be The Punisher - Coz he likes it.
We might see her in She-Hulk but we'll have to wait.
l truly hope both DareDevil and The Punisher come back as they were done as both were incredible shows done with great care & love and it would be a crime to destroy their legacy with watered down shows.
I agree. Either do it correctly or don't do it at all.
That roof top scene is legendary mane! Cinema at its finest!
Disney+ actually had already introduced the parental advisory codes for the main profile
they put the original punisher show on Disney +, so they could do it if they want to. they just can't make it super connected to anything else, because a lot of younger people won't be able to watch it. it can be done though
That prison hallway scene was amazing!
She back tracked on her statement via twitter. She said she heard It from a fan.
I dub thee “off screen punisher” 😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂 I love we’re getting them back but we should all know what’s in store ♻️
not sure if its the same in the US, but here in the UK - Disney plus has different age ranges and some shows are not available unless you've set your account to show 18+, Deadpool for example is only available if you've set your account to display 18+ content.
I mention this because I think Disney are all ready set up to create and show 18+ content.
If they bring him back, I want to see him get the War Machine armor, become the Cosmic Ghost Rider, or both.
Bro what
@@FrankCastle65 There are storylines from the books where Frank A) steals the War Machine Armor, and fights the Avengers; and B) Gets the powers of the Ghost Rider and the Silver Surfer, and becomes Cosmic Ghost Rider.
He also gets a War Machine version of the Hulkbuster at some point.
Solid commentary.
If anyone thinks Disney+ is going to have a Punisher series as he was portrayed on Netflix. They're fooling themselves.
I have no faith they'll do Daredevil any better.
Love to get more Punisher Max, amazing coverage on you Patreon. I think Barracuda was my favorite.
I think it was only a matter of time before Disney + got it’s more mature section. They already added more parental controls and with Deadpool, Blade, Punisher, Kingpin and Daredevil, hell even Jake Lockley they’ll really be able to let these characters shine in their own lane
You need to cover "Up is down, Black is white". Also I would like to see Thomas Jane play the punisher the end short on Disney plus
Rob if you could please answer this question for me please it would help me immensely i was told I won the ps5 and a gaming monitor on your channel the instructions were as follows get a hold of you through telegram which had me a bit worried just wondering if for 1 its true and 2 If thats how you proceed?
“You can’t save them all Red!”
Disneyplus has an R rated section you create a password to get in it
We have to support Deadpool to give Disney the confidence to invest in mature shows for the characters that warrant it.
Rob, we gotta finish the Punisher Max series. I've been looking forward to the "Girls in White Dresses" story.
Got a good laugh out of Disney making Punisher give the bad guys a stern talking to lol
you do know, Rob, that the Punisher is currently on Disney+ as a TV-MA rated show, right?
Question... Can they get the same affect with off screen violence( violence not in the shot) And you can see the reaction of witnesses???
It's already on Disney+ with no changes, the crazy sex sequence from Deadpool 1 are on Disney+
The only way Disney could pull shit off is by creating another streaming service or section in something that could let this live and where deadpool could live. If not, this is going to fail like their villians.
But yeah rob you should run some punisher comics.
Another great scene is the court scene when he admitted to not being crazy
I agree. Don’t nobody won’t a watered down Punisher! Go big or go home.
“Feel Frank” your not slick rob 😂😂
Oh I do not forget 'that scene' Rob 🙄 it was a great show i do hope Disney+ does him justice!
deadpool was recently added to disney plus, they have said marvel zombies is rumored to be rated r.
They could totally just develop a Marvel Max films and stick everything under that banner. Deadpool 3, Punisher, Daredevil, etc...
Punisher is one of my favorite Marvel heroes and I was waiting for him to be in the MCU properly. I am looking forward to all the Defenders to come back to the MCU. Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist. Even Misty Knight. I just hope they follow what they’re doing with Deadpool 3 and keep
It mature rating and enter a new phase of Marvel movies and television.
@text me on telegram @officialrob0 lmao this guy is goofy for trying to scam through a comment section
Hope they make a punisher movie
Man the best Move Marvel/Disney did was Let Netflix Do Daredevil,Punisher,Jessica Jones& Luke Cage! They need to do a collab because if not Folks will Tune Out after Ep 1
Both seasons of the Punisher are on Disney plus. Deadpool is too. I don’t think we have much to worry about.
I'd say if you have any faith in them making Deadpool 3, and it seems you do, then there is 0 reason to worry about Punisher. Everyone said the same thing "they're going to ruin Deadpool" "Disney will never make a rated R Deadpool movie" well they're literally making it as we speak.
Ennis run on max is a classic
nobody else can replace Jon bernthal as The Punisher imo
