Great video diagnosis! I like that you always go to the root cause of the problem and this time find a way to make that circuit to work as designed. great job!
Honestly the best video I've seen in a long time! Your step by step investigation is priceless mate. I have a 08' 130i fan not running. Car is overheating. Was getting a thermostat error so changed that and the water pump and temp sensor - no change to overheating. Fuses are fine. Noticed the fan not running even with air-con on. Changed the fan - still not coming on. I don't have the kit you do to test the pulse, nor access to the wiring diagram but you have pointed me in a new direction which I really appreciate. Two questions: Can I use a basic multi meter to test the pulse wire? and was the battery discounted while you did all this? Many thanks! J. Update: I bought a PWM Generator to test the same theory you had on my car and using your method I was able to prove with the old and new fan that the signal wire from the ECU was not sending the correct signal. Next step is to investigate the ECU as you have done. Thank you again!!
Yes, this was very early on when I didn't even realize how much shake was there, I have learned since and corrected that , but I believe the content in all I put out is what is worth watching. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching
Hi I have the same problem but with my 2007 530xi and my problem is tha is only one piece plug on the dme how can I work without the scanner or I need to programming mandatory if I disconnected? Great job 👍
I love the info and help of the intent of the video but it does NOTHING for the average home mechanic who does not have a computer to sinc with the cars system,
Hi I like you ask you regarding your experience,I have a 2010 BMW 528 xdrive manual, just bout from the dealer the fan box Riley,do to fan not working at all ,my ac it's not blowing cold air as well ,I top up the AC and everything came back to normal ,AC blows cold air, Fan started working, till 2 days ago the AC stopped blowing cold air ,fan stopped working,BMW dealer said it's the relay that needs to be replaced, bought it today , tried to replace, cannot find the relay location, not in the trunk, not on the glove box,not in the inside fender,I need your help, let me know if you have the knowledge of the location.Thank you.
I have 2008 528i, replaced thermostat bc fan wouldnt turn on then switched out fans, worked for a day, next day stopped working and overheat to point i had to change coolant tank after it blew, checked fuses, fan, thermostat dont undersdand what else could cause overhearing and fan not working
I've been through the exact issues same steps and coolant tank also blew up, lol. when i run the fan test using protool it spins fine but i still get 2efe and overheats. did you find a solution?
If you're going to sit there and criticize me as if you're something so great and special, put a freakin sentence together correctly first and foremost. Secondly, I like talking, I like to talk, I like to explain my thought process and I like to teach..... So, with that I decided to start a channel doing exactly that! I don't see your greatness doing anything alike. No one has put a gun to your head and forced you to sit and watch my video that explains a diagnostic process, your mad at me because your trying to figure out why your BMW is overheating and are looking for a silver bullet, well, you're the one putting yourself through it not me, think about it next time you decide to be a keyboard ninja! BTW, thanks for the view and getting me paid!

Great job 👍
No need to program if you unplug and then reinstall your original computer.
Good work..,,!
If it would be my car I would add hot glue around. Nice found bro.
David, we actually ended up putting clear silicone where the wire came through the case until he got his replacement DME. Thank you for watching
Wow man you got some good content on your channel. I'm gonna check it out
Thanks, appreciate that !
To just test if the fan motor is bad can I just jump the plug prongs to battery? I tried it with speaker wire and the wire started melting 😆 🤷🏼♂️
Bro I got the same issue but I'm not getting codes for the fan? Is it the relay ? Or is it still the fan? I am pissed I can't figure this out

Apparently it is located on the right rear of the trunk area but not in the fuse panel, but bolted to the inside of the quarter panel
Question can I email you about this issue for e fan not activating
