You would have to run the seafoam after the intercooler. the seafoam essentially accumulated in the intercooler. So, maybe run it through a vacuum line...

I’m at 70k. Just spoke with my mechanic. Definitely do it. Dealers might pop off top of the engine. My mpg is slipping lately. 24 plus to 22 plus.

Videos I've seen from dealers doing it you supposed to put the spray straw into the cold side right into the throttle body you just cleaned the turbo wheel and intercooler in my opinion

Oh wow, good to know! Well, the can that went in the tank should get anything that the spray can missed hopefully.

@@MicahMartinDIY Hey just so you know the whole point of the intake side is because the engine direct injection.
Your intake valves won't see the seafoan from the tank. I spray right before the throttle body cold side.
Thanks for the videos man your intercooler one made me buy em.

@@MicahMartinDIY great video been liking most of your videos as I have the same truck as you if you watch any of fordbossme video he's a master ford tech he says spray that stuff as far as possible from the turbos cause it can eat the gaskets inside the turbo etc can can open the boot on the cold side and insert threw there most company's for intake cleaners say spray past the maf sensor but since this truck has a map sensor there's no problem spraying on it etc I Emailed cbr since I used there cleaner to clean my intake and shortly after doing the cleaning I checked my oil catch can and it had some of the gunk residue inside and glad you were able to use the level to keep the throttle I tried everything and wasn't able to keep it anywhere under 4k rpm

May not apply to you.. but if you drive a Turbo vehicle.. make sure you spray after the Turbo. in other words, don't spray in intake. I sprayed into a booster line, directly into the intake.. to bypass the turbo. I believe no smoke means it a clean motor. Most smoke I seen are on older cars.

I own a 2020 Ford Ranger XLT. This is a not a correct way to clean intake valves for 2019-2023 Ford Ranger with Ecoboost engines. The throttle body on 2019-2023 Ford Ranger is on the driver side, lower on the engine. Follow the pipe coming out of the intercooler back towards the firewall. It’s nowhere near the air box. Air enters through the airbox and is compressed by the turbo, and is sent through the intercooler prior to entering the throttle body on the other side of the engine.

  • @ddroz23

Thing I would want to clean is the valve. the Intercooler probably took all the spray out and this is direct Inject. The fuel never mixes with the valve. So idk how much this is going to help. Seafom is great for other applications.

I just bought one of these trucks to try one out. So far I like it. Plenty of power and capability only problem it’s a ford and I heard the bad stories on the eco boosts. Thanks for the video I just started doing this. I use a lot of top tier fuel and I change my oil constantly on it. I just did the 30,000 mile transmission fluid change on it. Most people don’t know to change that or there front and rear diff fluids as well as the transfer case.

I drive an eco boost, too. I’ve tried the same way you did several times, same conclusion, no smoke. I think the computer might open the wastegate and dump the seafoam/air mixture into “atmosphere” before it makes it into the engine since it knows it’s in park, not moving. I’m going to try to spray seafaom through the EGR hose opening right behind the throttle body and see how that works.

I also have a 2019 Ranger with a little over 12,000 miles i used the STP pro cleaner trough the TB as instructions said, no smoke, i did have some engine stumble when i let the idle drop also a flashing CEL denoting a misfire, no CEL on test drive or stumble, maybe the chemical does make to the internals due to mine misfiring & stumble rough idle.

I use to do this now I just put in gas tank every so often. If you use high quality fuel from a top tier busy gas station you don’t need to worry about all this. This is better done on an old car that you know some one hasn’t taken care of.

The place you insert the seafoam is too far from throttle body( air through the turbo then into throttle), that is why you didn't have the blue smoke.

To make this work properly, you need to do it every 20,000 miles on direct injection engines

  • @pmaint1
    @pmaint1 7 місяців тому

This shit doesn't work! You need to remove the intake and have each valve walnut blasted. That's the only thing that works. Don't believe me? Take a look with a scope before and after. Taking it for a test drive does nothing at all but make you feel better.
