- In December of 2020, I found out that I had Os Trigonum Syndrome... AGAIN. The extra bone made it painful to do what I love most: ballet. I would have to get surgery to remove it and return to the art form that I love. This was yet another setback in my dance career, and I would have to miss out on ballet for a while. I had the choice of giving it all up... or using my power to say "this is NOT how my story will end"

LMAOO I knoww it's been so long and I've been so disconnected, but I'm back now! ❤
This message is so inspiring...after breaking both my arms, you have helped me stay motivated in working to wards my dancing goals in ballet and to keep on going. I'm joining #missionriset thank you so much ilysm xx
OMG IM GONNA CRY!! It makes me so incredibly excited that you're gonna join me on this journey 🥺❤ I am so sorry that happened to you. Now that I have reflected on it, I see every injury or setback in my career as a test from the universe. Will you allow it to stop doing what you love? or will you overcome this obstacle and come out stronger on the other side? YOU have the power to say, "the is NOT how my story will end". I am so proud of you for continuing to reach your dreams, we're in this together 🤞
@@RiannaTalento Omg thank you so much we're in this together 😉💜
please share your strengthening journey with us! turn it into a challenge for all of us, because we're so inspired by you and we're so proud of you!
Ahh this means so so much to me, thank you!! and of course I will share this journey, I'm bringing you along with me! Also, that is a really good idea to make it into a challenge 🤔 since I'm reading this while editing episode 2, I'm highly considering... 😉
I literally almost started crying at 0:12🥺 Idk why but just to see you like that broke my heart. i get that it’s kinda weird to hear that from a stranger haha. I know you are doing better and I hope you continue to get better! Much love! ❤️
omg you are literally the sweetest Ava aw 😭❤ don't worry about me, I was just very emotional and sleepy after anesthesia haha. Thank you so much for your love and support, ily girl!
I have a severe case of os trigonum syndrome and have been out of gymnastics for two years because of it. I’ve had one surgery and been in boots/casts since. I’m having a complete removal this Thursday but my recovery will be so long… I’ll be put into a cotton not water proof cast right after surgery and will be non weight bearing for 6 weeks then after hopefully I can get a walking boot :)
Yay! Another update!! So excited for these videos!! You’re truly a Wonder Woman! Keep going even when it feels like life keeps knocking you down. Love you! ❤️
OMG I'm crying at the Wonder Woman comment 🥺 I have peaked. Thank you so so much for the encouragement, I really need it at this point in my life! and it makes me so excited that YOU'RE excited for these vids 😭 Love you so much ❤
MY QUEEN HAS UPLOADED i can't wait for the update
omg ilysm queen 😭❤ you are so sweet aw
glad you are on the mend!! i love what you said about not relying on motivation and instead upon self discipline. i really needed to hear that, thank you so much 🖤
aw thank you so much love!! I am so happy that you were able to take away something from this video. I was struggling editing this video at first, but knowing that I helped someone really makes the hours I took making this video worth it 😭❤❤
@@RiannaTalento i think it is great you can express yourself so well during your journey, including when times are tough. it must be so hard when you are hurting and can't dance. i am rooting for you!! also i think your videos are so good and refreshing tbh. i have been struggling with panic attacks since december and your videos always make me feel better. you always can find something positive even during challenging times. i tend to give up so seeing you navigate thru life's ups and downs really helps. i think you help and inspire everyone who sees your videos. you can tell how much work you put into them and your creativity is amazing. big hugs!!!!!! 🥰
Thank you so much for making these videos! I have the os trigonum in both my ankles and i’m getting the first one in my right foot removed this july. I’m very nervous about the recovery and getting back to dancing the same as before. I’ve had such a hard time finding videos of others getting the surgery so your videos have really helped❤️
I feel so much more motivated with your videos i feel like working out now 😁. I finally have the courage to start a journey for myself improvment and im excited to do it with you❤ im so glad you are recovering! I know you will be back to ballet in NO TIME ❤❤

SOPHHH you are an incredible human being, and your words TRULY mean a lot to me. For the first time, the feelings that I kept bottled up inside that I wasn't able to express were finally put into words, so THANK YOU! I also absolutely love that quote. It sounds funny, but I DO forget that I am a person sometimes. But you have reminded me that I'm more than just a product and a *crazy productive* machine! ❤ ❤
Hi Rianna! I love your vids so much and you inspire me to be a better dancer!

Love u! Be strong! 💖
Love you girl, thank you so much ❤❤
Wow just wow, I don't think I've ever seen anything so inspiring. Even though I sometimes thought stop! That's way too much of what you're doing right now. Not meant badly, I was just worried a little. But I think that you know best how much you can put on your body. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and even if we don't know each other personally, I'm super proud of you!
Also thank you so much for this new video. Take care of yourself! Luv you
omg you are the ABSOLUTE SWEETEST!! haha sometimes I do push myself a little more than I should, but over the years I have figured out my limits! I also just have a stubborn personality and I want to do everything right away 😂 thank you so much for the support love. I truly appreciate it, love you!! ❤

You recovered so fast post op!!!! I’m also a dancer and it’s been 5 months and I’m still barley walking after surgery x

You are so sweet, thank you so much for your kind words ❤❤
12:44 your sugary foot is better than mine! xD
Also, DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON YOUR RIGHT FOOT!! GIRLLLLL that is GOALSSS!!
GIRLLL I bet you your feet are WAY better than the state that my feet are in 😂❤ I still can't quite point it all the way just yet bahaha. Also it's funny cause my right foot used to be my bad foot, but now it's my good foot LOL I hope my left foot will be back to where it was 😤
such an inspiration
omg thank you so much Soph! you're the sweetest 😭❤
Hi, Rianna: As always... your videos are really uplifting and motivating. #truestory I can relate 1000000 percent. You SHOULD be proud of yourself! Good 4 U! Thanks for reminding all of us that NOTHING is normal. We all need to cut ourselves some slack! U are a champion 🌈🌈🌈🌈🦄🦄🦄🦄!
ahh this made my day! this means the entire world to me, thank you so much 😭❤ I want people to know that even though my life might seem "perfect" on youtube, I am truly just like everyone else. we all go through the same struggles, you are not alone!!
5:43 awww! Yogi really didn't want to leave you! He loves you so much!&
6:06 look at princess lulu & chill thee thee! Their so beautiful & handsom! Like you said in a furry friend tag, "the ballet world can be rough, but knowing you can come home to your little buns, makes the world so much better" they truly are your kids/emotional support animals!😉😁
AWW haha they most definitely are. I'm so glad you love my pets as much as I do, they truly make my life happier 🐰❤
Oh my gosh your foot had so much bruising! :(
And, I don't even know how you filmed that segment of taking off your stitches because me and needles are not on the same page xD
I cannot wait to see getting back into ballet after sugary!
omg yes girl, the bruising and the scar tissue is what's making recovery and PT painful. But my body just needs time to heal after surgery! Also my mom had to film that part because I could not look and I was closing my eyes while he was taking out the stitches 😂 but I am all good now and I can't wait to put the bricks back on already 🩰❤
Hi! I had an OS trigonom removal surgery last July, and I am currently full time training at a ballet boarding school. My ankle still gives me pain and makes this weird cracking noise every time I rotate it.. but anyway, I love this series because it’s interesting to see the comparison between recoveries. keep up the good work!
Aw I'm so glad you are enjoying this series, and I hope your ankle continues to recover! Everyone grows at different rates ☺❤
Hi, I had my so trigonum removed 5 days ago along with them taking our one of my ligaments in my ankle in the same surgery. I watched your video before and it really helped me get prepared. When I went home they didn’t put me in a cast just crutches. And now 5 days later I can walk quite well with some pain. I play football and haven’t played in almost 3 months cause we tried to wait for it to heal. Thanks for the video it really helped me out. Next week I’m going to start PT. you really helped me so much and am also trying to get back flexibility in my Achilles And ankle but still a long way to go since it’s only day 5. Thanks you so much for the video
AWW I'm so glad I could help you in some way. I am proud of all the progress you have already made in just 5 days, wow! If you feel like you are behind because you had to stop the sport you love, you are NOT. The comeback is always stronger than the setback, and you will be an even BETTER athlete than you were before. We can get through this together, I believe in you! ❤❤
@@RiannaTalento thank you. Hope your recovering well.❤️❤️
ugh ily
I love YOU lean bean ❤❤
You are fkn awesome 👏
Are this days on point? I had the same surgery about 2 or 3 years ago and I was really scared my doctor told me to be careful and don’t do much because it could damage my Achilles’ tendon because it was weak after the surgery and I don’t know I freaked out I guess and I didn’t do anything and I wear a surgery boot for a lot of time and I start working out using my ankle like 2 months later luckily I didn’t miss much in that time because it was during the pandemic and there were no sports and I was able to play soccer when everything start going back normal. But a couple of months ago I had an ankle injury playing soccer (now my other ankle) and I been refusing to think that it’s because of the same reason, I been refusing to think that I need another surgery even though I know I have the same extra bone on my right ankle too and I been trying different things, a lot of physical Theraphy, dry needles, cupping, just trying to make me believe is just an ankle sprain and that I will get better and it did help me not gonna lie but it’s been a few weeks ago since I hasn’t feel any change at all, I can play in this condition but it’s painful and it’s the worst feeling to do something that you love and feel pain for doing it I been thinking on giving up on this dream more than once, I know I need that surgery but I been really afraid of going through that process again because I had that mentality of a long process of recovery after the surgery, on my first time I start playing soccer after 4 months. I didn’t believe that this time could be different but after seen you going through the same process twice and doing it in a lot less time of course working hard, but working hard was never the problem. you really are inspiring, you really help me with this video, thank you so much for letting me know I can do it again, I really hope you are doing well and living your dancer dreams🩰 I promise you I will always work hard to make mines come true⚽️
Yooo first thing first hope you’re doing better and everything is cool! Secondly I wanted to ask a couples questions. You had this “extra bone” for both your left and right foot?? My second question is how did you get to move your foot so quick?? I am currently 14 days in after my surgery and I can barely even move my foot and toes.
I just got this on Wednesday. I would love to chat with you and get some tips for my recovery process
i am finding myself beeing so hard on myself because i have to get prepared for a hugeeeeee summer instensive and i just have no motivqation to push myself
Don't be too hard on yourself! I know exactly how you feel, and I am in the same position for the summer program I'm going to. Like I said in the video, life is NOT NORMAL right now, and it is totally normal to feel this way. Of course there are days where you gotta push yourself, but there are others where you need to take a step back and take a breather. I know it's easier said than done, but be kinder to yourself, especially in the times we're in right now. Know that you are NOT alone, and your mental health and well-being is priority over ANYTHING. I love you! ❤
@@RiannaTalento awww thanks!!! i love you as well !:)
how long the swelling lasted? i removed the bone 7 days ago, my ankle is still swollen and it is painful. it is still very stiff to make movements
How long was the recovery time for surgery I have os trigonum syndrome and have to see ankle Specialist on August 16

I’m a dancer I’m 13 and have the same exact situation! 😭 🤠
Did you have a nerve block? I did. It was amazing
Just had this removed yesterday
How are you doing now!? Any long term side effects? (I’m a dancer)
@@halliekate124 yea, limited range of motion, still have some pain, but I can run around pretty much fine, I had other problems as well which didn’t help, and I got my one from footy
