Portia's a no go. That woman wouldn't know how to comfort Trina even if she were given a parenting manual. I'll take Ava over Portia ANY day. I love that she referred to Trina as "my girls" so, so, sweet. Ava knows how to talk to Trina. She allows her to just be herself and express her feelings as adult. She feels safe around Ava as opposed to her mother, because Portia lacks tact; something we all had the misfortune of seeing last week. Anywho, her being preggers would give her something to live for; school isn't it. My heart breaks for Trina.😢😢😢 I don't know in what way NAC is coming back on, but Trina definitely needs him.💯 P.S. Everybody grieves differently when losing a loved one. Spencer is Trina's loved one, and her loss is heartbreaking. She was grieving exactly like that; she knew the pain wouldn't go away because Spencer is her sweet love.
So over the erasure of Taggert. This would be a great time to bring him back… especially since he’s obviously not in Port Charles. It would give Trina an escape that could still be shown onscreen.

There is no reason why the writers have every single character in Trina's orbit straight up forgetting that Trina adores her dad. This isn't about screen time - it's about rewriting Trina's history. I get how Trina feels, but I do wish the writers would have addressed Rory. That he died a year ago. That even though Trina didn’t love him, the pain she feels now is so much more intense. Like her asking if the pain will go away or asking Joss about losing Oscar. It’s not the same, but Trina does know what it feels like to lose someone sudden and tragically. She can tack solace in the fact that she had told Spencer what loving him meant to her.

Why are we this way? No one has ever advocated for Trina to not connect with Portia. They have written her poorly since she arrived. All this time, Trina was on the canvas the first time she met Ava or Liz was when Taggart was presumed dead. The writing has always been poor for her in every case of the word. Even the paternity secret was stupid. If we get capable writers, hopefully they can undo a lot of the 💩💩 on our screens.
It’s hard to do so when you haven’t suffered any (according to her latest interview she had to ask others about their experiences). I think she’s fortunate IRL to not have experienced what many of us have in our early years. I’ll give grace and pray for her to continually in her craft.
I hope this doesn't get taken the wrong way. I like Tabyana and I want her to continue to get better in her craft. I hope she has someone who will show her these scenes and explain to her what she can do better (an acting coach). My issue is that this isn't the first time she has had to do scenes like this and it was still no improvement. This is a soap opera...not a sitcom...and there will be more scenes coming that will expect her to be emotional. My fear is that if she doesn't get better they will start cutting her scenes. People are already upset now because they feel like they aren't showing her "grief" enough onscreen. My mom doesn't believe Tabyana is a good replacement for Sydney. She said that's why they scaled her character back. Remember how much air time Sydney used to get? She was a scene stealer.
I think dex seems more efficient like a caring person with Ladies than bodyguard for a mobster i like this run to take the painting 😂😂😂😂 into trina's hands 😅😅😅. He seems more human and kind therefore he behaves less like a robot.

Long post - sorry. Yet, I have to get this off my chest because a certain person on this show is harming the storylines for the other black characters on this show. It needs to be said. I hope the new headwriters step in and clean house. I want Portia and Trina to have a real relationship. The headwriters need to stop playing favorites. That's the problem. As long as they keep trying to make Donnell happy (I said what I said!)..Portia and Taggert will never get the relationship they deserve with Trina. I could be wrong - but I will use my experience as a writer to explain this - I think things were written the way they were to prop Curtis. Alot of what they give Curtis to say should have been either Portia or Taggert....notice that? It's very intentional. They have basically given Portia no real purpose on this show....just like what they did to Taggert. It's disappointing. I found out that Donnell (who plays Curtis) has a good relationship with Laura Wright (Carly). The reason this matters is because he confirmed he had conversations with Laura to help him get more spotlight on the show for his character. Laura and Maurice Bernard (Sonny) have ALOT of pull BTS with the producers. Basically...you have to kiss up to them to get things going on GH from my understanding. Donnell figured out the best way to transition to get more spotlight was to connect himself to Trina (because she was becoming such a popular character back when it was Sydney). See where I'm going with this? That's where the paternity storyline came from. Also, I read Donnell and Sydney didn't have the best relationship. Interesting that she got along well with everyone...but him! Guess who helped with the hiring of Tabyana? Donnell! He knew he was going to be the father of Trina and he wanted to be the one to handpick the person to play his new daughter. Donnell specifically didn't want someone who was going to play Trina like Sydney did (go figure)! Yep...you heard that right! Donnell didn't like that Sydney played Trina with some sass and a little attitude/fiesty. He thought she played the character like a stereotype. He thought a young black woman should be played differently. That's why the writers switched up the character when Tabyana started. I only watched a few clips of Sydney a few months ago so this is what I read and heard from others. I read that people complained that the writing of Trina had changed - she wasn't as fiery and fiesty when they recast with Tabyana. All of these are facts. I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't confirmed. I used to be a journalist so I take things like that seriously. I didn't watch back then. Yet, I came across an article through my research where Donnell discusses some of this. I read the article a few months ago and didn''t think much of it at the time. NOW I see how it's playing out. I watch more from the perspective of a writer. If I don't see improvement for ALL THE BLACK CAST by late May...I have to tune out of GH. I can't support the erasure of black characters to prop 1 narcissist person.
Wow. Just wow. This is basically confirming why I’ve been feeling that the Trina/Curtis father/daughter relationship feels off and forced. But let me be clear Taby can bring the sass and attitude just like Sydney did. We saw the interactions with her and Avery in that gallery scene in 2022. The Curtis/donell favorable writing is now starting to make sense but honestly his little schemes may be back firing the fandom doesn’t really like him and want Taggart to be Trina’s father. Also it sucks that they will not give Taby more scenes, if they didn’t think she was right for the part and was not a strong enough actress they should not have given her the part. But they did. She is the main reason “Sprina” is what it is at this point. I agree, Sydney maybe a stronger actress even though she started the fire, Taby was the fuel that made it blow up. I’m not sure why but NAC seems better with Taby, it could be for all the reasons you stated above. The guy who played Camron wasn’t that good of an actor (IMO), but people give him a lot of slack. This is a soap opera. There are other actors and actresses on this show that really can’t act and they are given a lot of screen time. I agree Donell is a narcissist. You can see it come through when he plays Curtis, a self righteous, hypocritical jackass, which is why I believe people don’t like him. I skip through most of his scene. There is a reason why Y&R is #1 and GH isn’t. Regardless of how well Taby can act or not. People love her and NAC. Even if people feel he is the one carrying the weight. But it’s not like he is acting across from a brick wall. She helps him as well. I mean Steve Burton only has one facial expression, yet he is a fan favorite and gets his way when it comes to storyline. Thats how it is in Soaps. Genie Francis was a much stronger actress than the guy who played Luke but he was on the show with a lot of airtime and considered a legend. I guess my point is Taby should be given more screen time outside of NAC’s Spencer regardless of her acting. Because as we can see being a weak actor can make you a fan favorite and get you more scenes. It’s funny how Taby being a weak actress is the “reason” they are using for not giving her more screen time and not because of their lack of imagination and terrible writing or just plain the R word.

My fear though is that at this point too much of Trina and Spencer's story has been about their relationship instead of their individual lives and I think it's actually harming the characters. I want to see strong Trina with or without Spencer. The best couples are the ones that are amazing on their own and have great stories on their own. Before Spencer was presumed dead - he had no story outside Trina and trying to keep up with Ace. He needed a passion just like Trina. It has been a mistake to have Trina take off from school and not go to work. It would have been fine for her to take a little break - but at this point I wan to hear about her wanting to go back to something. She needs it. I know people don't want to hear this - but I think they are restructuring the characters at the moment. This means....I truly don't know the future of Trina or Spencer together or individually. I think the new regime of writers are going to pivot. I sense it coming. I have my own theories....but I don't want to say it publicly.

Crying on que is not easy. Most of the actresses on GH have that 1 tear expect for Gene Francis and Laura Wright, I think. The men on GH can have tears in their eyes much easier. Grief is displayed in different ways, and this should be acknowledged even if it's a soap opera. The emotional loss is present in Trina's entire demeanor. How is that poor acting? In all the years I've watch GH, I've never seen a tear in Lucy Coe eyes when she has suffered a loss and she tends to overactive. I like NAC and his acting has improved . I've seen episodes of GH where he had over acted. Both actors work well together and apart. This is TA time to show her skills and or improve her skills if this is what some viewers believe. I do think Tabyana has a lot to work on emotional scenes in particular she isn’t the best but she’ll get there because she is determined. Portraying grief as an actor is tough, they’re some actors been in the business for years they’re damn near 80 and still can’t pull off a crying/emotional scene. Tabyana is still fairly new in the acting world she WILL get there. Support her instead of tearing her down she already get a lot of hate from racists.

The difference is huge between Trina and her mother ( Portia is a great liar " twenty years of secrets/lies" and she has ulterior motive like her own interest/image of perfection to keep in mind towards others. Trina deserves a healthy relationship with her mother it s too bad she hasn't it.
Portia shows up her true colours (her dark side like controlling mother/narcissitic behavior/selfishness/rudeness/pettiness/lack of sweetness/empathy/compassion like a loving mother/decent human being.
I have a weird vibe every time Portia is comforting Trina, something is off with Portia's attitude (i can't explain this sensation about Portia but for me she isn't enough motherly with her own daughter , it s bothered and disturbing me.

Long post - sorry. Yet, I have to get this off my chest because a certain person on this show is harming the storylines for the other black characters on this show. It needs to be said. I hope the new headwriters step in and clean house.
I want Portia and Trina to have a real relationship. The headwriters need to stop playing favorites. That's the problem. As long as they keep trying to make Donnell happy (I said what I said!)..Portia and Taggert will never get the relationship they deserve with Trina.
I could be wrong - but I will use my experience as a writer to explain this - I think things were written the way they were to prop Curtis. Alot of what they give Curtis to say should have been either Portia or Taggert....notice that? It's very intentional.
They have basically given Portia no real purpose on this show....just like what they did to Taggert. It's disappointing. I found out that Donnell (who plays Curtis) has a good relationship with Laura Wright (Carly). The reason this matters is because he confirmed he had conversations with Laura to help him get more spotlight on the show for his character. Laura and Maurice Bernard (Sonny) have ALOT of pull BTS with the producers. Basically...you have to kiss up to them to get things going on GH from my understanding.
Donnell figured out the best way to transition to get more spotlight was to connect himself to Trina (because she was becoming such a popular character back when it was Sydney). See where I'm going with this? That's where the paternity storyline came from.
Also, I read Donnell and Sydney didn't have the best relationship. Interesting that she got along well with everyone...but him! Guess who helped with the hiring of Tabyana? Donnell! He knew he was going to be the father of Trina and he wanted to be the one to handpick the person to play his new daughter. Donnell specifically didn't want someone who was going to play Trina like Sydney did (go figure)! Yep...you heard that right! Donnell didn't like that Sydney played Trina with some sass and a little attitude/fiesty. He thought she played the character like a stereotype. He thought a young black woman should be played differently. That's why the writers switched up the character when Tabyana started. I only watched a few clips of Sydney a few months ago so this is what I read and heard from others. I read that people complained that the writing of Trina had changed - she wasn't as fiery and fiesty when they recast with Tabyana.
All of these are facts. I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't confirmed. I used to be a journalist so I take things like that seriously.
I didn't watch back then. Yet, I came across an article through my research where Donnell discusses some of this. I read the article a few months ago and didn''t think much of it at the time.
NOW I see how it's playing out. I watch more from the perspective of a writer. If I don't see improvement for ALL THE BLACK CAST by late May...I have to tune out of GH. I can't support the erasure of black characters to prop 1 narcissist person.
Wow. Just wow. This is basically confirming why I’ve been feeling that the Trina/Curtis father/daughter relationship feels off and forced. But let me be clear Taby can bring the sass and attitude just like Sydney did. We saw the interactions with her and Avery in that gallery scene in 2022. The Curtis/donell favorable writing is now starting to make sense but honestly his little schemes may be back firing the fandom doesn’t really like him and want Taggart to be Trina’s father. Also it sucks that they will not give Taby more scenes, if they didn’t think she was right for the part and was not a strong enough actress they should not have given her the part. But they did. She is the main reason “Sprina” is what it is at this point. I agree, Sydney maybe a stronger actress even though she started the fire, Taby was the fuel that made it blow up. I’m not sure why but NAC seems better with Taby, it could be for all the reasons you stated above. The guy who played Camron wasn’t that good of an actor (IMO), but people give him a lot of slack. This is a soap opera. There are other actors and actresses on this show that really can’t act and they are given a lot of screen time. I agree Donell is a narcissist. You can see it come through when he plays Curtis, a self righteous, hypocritical jackass, which is why I believe people don’t like him. I skip through most of his scene. There is a reason why Y&R is #1 and GH isn’t. Regardless of how well Taby can act or not. People love her and NAC. Even if people feel he is the one carrying the weight. But it’s not like he is acting across from a brick wall. She helps him as well. I mean Steve Burton only has one facial expression, yet he is a fan favorite and gets his way when it comes to storyline. Thats how it is in Soaps. Genie Francis was a much stronger actress than the guy who played Luke but he was on the show with a lot of airtime and considered a legend. I guess my point is Taby should be given more screen time outside of NAC’s Spencer regardless of her acting. Because as we can see being a weak actor can make you a fan favorite and get you more scenes. It’s funny how Taby being a weak actress is the “reason” they are using for not giving her more screen time and not because of their lack of imagination and terrible writing or just plain the R word.
@@lh7080 I think it will get better with the new writing regime. Yes, it's part of the reason why the fandom can't stand Curtis. I myself am not in the fandom - but I am aware many of them don't like Curtis and prefer Taggert.

I guess I was wondering am I the only one seeing this. The fandom can get soooo….tunnel visioned that they are not looking at the bigger picture. I am not in the fandom so to speak. I only watch for this pairing. I guess I’m being a hypocrite cause I honestly don’t watch the Trina/Spencer characters individually, I mostly just watch their scenes together. I just don’t want Tabyana to get placed to the side like I’ve seen other WOC actresses in soaps. I always love your comments because they are objective and allow me to see it from other perspectives. I can be opinionated and because I like this pairing, I can get a little tunnel visioned, so it’s good to hear an objective point of view. Lol.
@@lh7080 I will say this after reading your comment. I do try to be as objective as possible. Thanks for saying that. I do enjoy the pairing. My fear though is that at this point too much of Trina and Spencer's story has been about their relationship instead of their individual lives and I think it's actually harming the characters. I want to see strong Trina with or without Spencer. The best couples are the ones that are amazing on their own and have great stories on their own.
Before Spencer was presumed dead - he had no story outside Trina and trying to keep up with Ace. He needed a passion just like Trina. It has been a mistake to have Trina take off from school and not go to work. It would have been fine for her to take a little break - but at this point I wan to hear about her wanting to go back to something. She needs it.
I know people don't want to hear this - but I think they are restructuring the characters at the moment. This means....I truly don't know the future of Trina or Spencer together or individually. I think the new regime of writers are going to pivot. I sense it coming. I have my own theories....but I don't want to say it publicly.

They tried to create drama with their family situations but it just didn’t seem to work SL wise. They tried to create drama between them but it was over stupid stuff. I feared this as soon as they said Jason is coming back. I know people especially the Sprina nation fans do not want to hear it but I agree with you. With the new writers, even though “Sprina”as they are called are a fan favorite, the writers sometimes don’t care because it wasn’t “their” story or characters. They may want to tell their own stories with these characters. With NAC taking his break, they can bring him back completely different. And story line wise, they can do it and unfortunately it could make sense and not seem OOC because everyone thinks he is dead and he fell into icy water. I think most of the storylines will be Jason based for now. I understand not wanting to tell your theories on this particular page because Sprina nation would come for you, if your comment stated them not being “endgame”. Lol. I love them together like a lot of people but soap operas gonna soap.

Crying on que is not easy. Most of the actresses on GH have that 1 tear expect for Gene Francis and Laura Wright, I think.
The men on GH can have tears in their eyes much easier.
Grief is displayed in different ways, and this should be acknowledged even if it's a soap opera. The emotional loss is present in Trina's entire demeanor. How is that poor acting?
In all the years I've watch GH, I've never seen a tear in Lucy Coe eyes when she has suffered a loss and she tends to overactive.
I like NAC and his acting has improved . I've seen episodes of GH where he had over acted.
Both actors work well together and apart. This is TA time to show her skills and or improve her skills if this is what some viewers believe.

I do think Tabyana has a lot to work on emotional scenes in particular she isn’t the best but she’ll get there because she is determined. Portraying grief as an actor is tough, they’re some actors been in the business for years they’re damn near 80 and still can’t pull off a crying/emotional scene. Tabyana is still fairly new in the acting world she WILL get there. Support her instead of tearing her down she already get a lot of hate from racists.

Her not being the last person to drop a flower on his grave… strange choice. Her being ignored or diminished onscreen as the person most important in Spencer’s life… disgraceful.
